Mr Davidiy, It is my understanding that if an Istaelite father had no male heirs his inheritance went to his daughter. Please Advise ,Shalom Bill Dunaway

This is correct.

The Talmud and Commentators indicate that the witch did intend to "fake it".
By faking it opinions are divided:
a. She would bring forth an unclean spirit who would imitate Samuel.
b. She would bring nothing but use some conjurery as if to indicate otherwise.
Instead of either of these, the real spirit of Samuel did come forth, the witch
was terrified and realized that her
guest was none other than King Saul.
Why did Samuel promise Saul a place with him in the Next World?
The Commentators say that Saul in his own way was a great man, in some ways
greater than David.
Saul with his sons went to his death on behalf of the People of Israel knowing
what his fate would be.
Enjoy your website very much. Have a question regarding "tallness" my family ancestory is pretty tall, wondering were the height came from...also, is it a bad thing to be of tall? My grandfather was 6'6", I am 6' my son is 6'8". Since recently relocating to the southerns states, we have been treated pretty strangely by some. My son actually was treated poorly by the sales person in a big and tall store...regarding his height. My ancestory is Welsh, Danish, my son is Irish, German. Although, tallness is very well noted in California, than sountern states. Is it a bad thing to be of height? Honestly never thought about our height till moving south, so many around the coast are taller.
Best Regards
Nancy

Nancy Shalom,
From the Bible King Saul was noted as being very tall.
http://britam.org/samuel-9.html
[1-Samuel 9:2] AND HE HAD A SON, WHOSE NAME WAS SAUL, A CHOICE YOUNG
MAN, AND A GOODLY: AND THERE WAS NOT AMONG THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL A GOODLIER
PERSON THAN HE: FROM HIS SHOULDERS AND UPWARD HE WAS HIGHER THAN ANY
OF THE PEOPLE.
Saul was physically tall and apparently also strong and handsome. He
may also have been dark.
[1-Samuel 10:23] AND THEY RAN AND FETCHED HIM THENCE: AND WHEN HE STOOD
AMONG THE PEOPLE, HE WAS HIGHER THAN ANY OF THE PEOPLE FROM HIS
SHOULDERS AND UPWARD.
The Talmud and Midrashim describe Abraham, Moses, and other Biblical heroes as
also being very tall.
In the Temple Service the Chief Priest would chosen from amongst the other
priests and traditionally
a candidate who was taller had an advantage.
Statistically all other things being equal taller people are more successful
especially in managerial and executive positions.
My grandfather (on my mother's side) was very tall and so is my brother.
I myself am average (5ft 8) and have six sons, five of whom are somewhat taller
than myself and one is about an inch shorter.
Taller people are accorded more attention and more deference.
There is definitely nothing wrong with being tall.
Overseas Americans are perceived as being often of above-average height.
Elements of diet, environment, and culture may also be a factor.
Jews in Central Europe before WW2 were often much much shorter than their
children in the L:and of Israel.
It is definitely NOT a disadvantage to be tall.
As for your son being mistreated because of it, forget it.
If it is not that it is something else.
Everyone gets picked on sometimes for matters they have no control over and no
choice about.
God bless you
Yair Davidiy
