Conscription of Hareidim to the IDF.
The IDF does not want Hareidim. They said so expressly to government committees
as was recorded by Arutz HaKnesset [The official TV News Station attached to the
Knesset]. They already get more manpower than they think they need.
Female soldiers on average cost more than they are worth despite numerous
exceptions.
It is time to forget ideology and concentrate on what Israel needs. Israel needs
more professional full-time soldiers including front-line unit grunts. As many
Israelis as possible should receive some training but a year's conscription
would be sufficient. The girls should get married to Jewish boys and raise
babies instead of being conscripted. The country would benefit more.
The Tribe of Levi did not go out to war in Biblical Times. Those who learn in Yeshivot are in the same category.
Jews learning in Yeshivot bring a blessing to the country and protect us from the enemy. Even on a straightforward economic basis they give
more than they take. The more Torah learning we have the less problems we face.
2. Israeli Exports Up Nearly 15,000%

In the 64 years since its establishment, exports from Israel have grown by some
15,000%. In 1948, Israel exported $6 million worth of products, but by 2011,
that number had jumped to about $90 billion ' a rise of 1,400,000%. The per
capita export rate ' the amount of export in terms of population ' was at the
end of last year 173 times greater than it was in 1948.
Since 1949, Israel has signed free trade agreements with 39 countries; the first
was with Hungary, with that agreement signed January 12, 1949.
The destination of Israeli exports has also changed significantly since the
early days of the state. Between 1948 and 1970, Britain was Israel's chief
overseas customer, with the U.S. in second place. After 1970, the U.S. became
Israel's number one export market, a position it held until just recently, when
the European Union countries edged the U.S. out as Israel's top export market.
Within the EU, the current top markets are France, Germany, and Italy, while in
the state's early days, Switzerland, Holland and the Scandinavian countries were
Israel's best European customers. Currently in third place as an export market
for Israel, perhaps surprisingly, is the Palestinian Authority. One of Israel's
biggest markets in the 1970s was Iran, a market that has been completely
eliminated over the past decades.

3. What the Evangelicals Give the Jews

Jews and evangelicals should ignore profound differences in their core values
and put aside sharp disagreements on American domestic issues in order to make
common cause against the existential threat of Islamofascism.
Meanwhile, skeptics who seek to maintain the traditional Jewish wariness toward
fervent Christian believers, let's designate them "Rejectionists", insist that the
ardent evangelical embrace of the Zionist project only encourages the most
intransigent and fanatical elements in Israel, thereby undermining chances for a
peaceful settlement with the Palestinians. The doubters, moreover, question the
theological sources of Christian Zionism, insisting that sunny proclamations of
brotherhood actually mask dark intentions of mass conversion, married to
apocalyptic visions that inevitably include the unappetizing prospect of large
nuclear explosions in the vicinity of Jerusalem. As if that weren't enough,
Christian conservatives (or, in the preferred locution of their leftist critics,
'the American Taliban') stand accused by the Rejectionists of seeking to impose
the sort of ruthless theocratic rule that would make life intolerable for all
religious minorities.
The clashing narratives of both friends and foes of the tentative
Jewish-evangelical alliance require considerable correction, or at least
corrective context.
Collaborationists make their first mistake in assuming that conservative
Christians' support for Israel separates them significantly from their
non-evangelical neighbors. David Frum examined public opinion surveys in 2000
and 2004 from the Annenberg Foundation, American National Election studies, and
the National Jewish Democratic Council, and he found a 'surprisingly small gap
in the attitudes [toward Israel] of evangelical Christians as compared [with]
other non-Jews.' His conclusion: 'Yes, Evangelicals are a little more positive.
But only a little.'
Given the overwhelming support for Israel by the public at large, that's hardly
surprising; in fact, Gallup's most recent survey on the subject (February 2011)
showed sympathy for the Jewish state at a 'near record-high'.All major U.S.
population subgroups show greater sympathy for the Israelis than for the
Palestinians.' The biggest differences in attitudes toward Israel involved
political rather than religious orientation: 80 percent of Republicans backed
Israel over the Palestinians, compared with 57 percent of both Democrats and
Independents.
Wide-ranging American identification with Israel's struggle against Islamist
terrorism (notably more intense, according to the polls, since the terrorist
attacks of September 11) works against Collaborationist claims that evangelical
support is so indispensable that American Jews must subordinate their
disagreements on core principles in order to maintain an alliance of necessity.
The much larger problem with this line of thought is that the supposedly
fundamental splits on basic core values between Jews and Christians do not
actually exist. In which areas, exactly, can committed Jews identify
irreconcilable differences with serious Christians when it comes to most
significant questions of morals, ethics, and righteous behavior? Does anyone
suppose that our Baptist neighbors cherish the centrality of the family less
passionately than we do, or display a weaker commitment to acts of compassion
for the poor, or express a more feeble determination to repair a broken world in
the tradition of tikkun olam [Mending the World]?
But the Armageddon element has been vastly overplayed as an explanatory factor
in the deep, broad evangelical support for Israel. In fact, American Christians
endorsed Jewish return to the Holy Land long before the development of Theodor
Herzl's modern Zionist movement'or the birth of nuclear weapons. In his
fascinating 2007 book Power, Faith, and Fantasy: America in the Middle East,
1776 to the Present, Michael B. Oren (now Israel's ambassador to the United
States) sketches vivid portraits of Christian dreamers and doers who committed
themselves to restoring the Jews to their ancestral home more than a century
before the reborn Israel joined the family of nations. In 1844, Warder Cresson
became America's official consul in Jerusalem; he held the stalwart conviction
that God had created the United States specifically to facilitate the
restoration of a Jewish homeland and that the American eagle would 'overshadow
the land with its wings' in fulfillment of Isaiah's prophecy.
In the same year, an influential Biblical scholar and professor at New York
University authored The Valley of Vision; or, the Dry Bones of Israel Revived.
In that book, George Bush (a very distant relation to the two future presidents
of that name) called for 'elevating' the Jewish people 'to a rank of honorable
repute among the nations of the earth' through 'the literal return of the Jews
to the land of their fathers.'
Zev Chafets, who spent 33 years in politics and journalism in Jerusalem
(including service as chief press spokesman for Prime Minister Menachem Begin)
sets the record straight in his 2007 book A Match Made in Heaven. 'The
evangelical-Israeli alliance is not a pact between Christian and Israeli
religious nuts,' he writes. 'It is a well-established relationship between the
leaders of evangelical American Christianity and mainstream Israel. Every prime
minister since Begin has relied on the support of the Christian right.' Chafets
goes on to point out that Ehud Barak, the last prime minister from the Labor
Party, authorizes his name to appear as part of the faculty at Pat Robertson's
Regent University, in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
What's more, the 'gains' to the Jewish population through conversion into the
faith (9.1 percent) actually made up a bigger portion of the current community
than the percentage of converts among either Protestants or Catholics. And
although departing Jews shifted mostly to the unaffiliated/atheist/agnostic
categories, the great bulk of those converting to Judaism came from one of the
recognized Christian denominations (71.5 percent). In other words, Jews gain far
more from Christians becoming Jews than we lose from Jews becoming
Christians'with an especially insignificant loss to Christian evangelicals.
4. The Crony System That Makes Israelis

...Even before the cottage-cheese boycott, the prime minister had appointed a
commission to deal with Israel's extraordinary concentration of political and
economic power. The latter had become the center of public furor after an April
2010 Bank of Israel report affirmed that "some 20 family business groups,
structured as pyramids, control some 25% of firms listed for trading, about half
of the market share." The report also noted that a mere handful of business
groups received over 60% of Israel's available credit, which they invested in
highly leveraged and speculative real-estate ventures.
Clearly, such concentration creates great risk for Israeli financial markets. It
also denies small and medium-size businesses access to credit, blocking Israel's
engines of growth. Two major regions, the southern Negev and the northern
Galilee, with mostly small businesses, have suffered a permanent credit crunch.
Living on average monthly salaries of $2,400, according to official figures, and
having to pay for most consumer goods and services at prices similar to those in
New York City, most Israeli families have difficulty making ends meet.
Strong vested interests blocking progress are not unique to Israel. Everywhere,
powerful elites manage to erect entry barriers that cut competition, reduce
efficiency and lower productivity. Generally impoverished Islamic countries are
extreme examples of the ravages caused by such entrenched elites.
Mr. Netanyahu, Israel's first prime minister to understand economics, realized
that economic viability is essential to Israel's survival and initiated bold
reforms. He faces resistance from his bureaucracy and some coalition partners
serving the tycoons and their lobbyists. Despite this and great challenges such
as Iran and the prospect of new elections, Mr. Netanyahu could still convene a
special session of parliament before the fall elections and pass the reforms he
deems essential.
5. The Negative Health Effects of
Homosexuality

Homosexual activists attempt to portray their lifestyle as normal and healthy,
and insist that homosexual relationships are the equivalent in every way to
their heterosexual counterparts. Hollywood and the media relentlessly propagate
the image of the fit, healthy, and well-adjusted homosexual. The reality is
quite opposite to this caricature which was recently conceded by the homosexual
newspaper New York Blade News:
Reports at a national conference about sexually transmitted diseases indicate
that gay men are in the highest risk group for several of the most serious
diseases. . . . Scientists believe that the increased number of sexually
tranmitted diseases (STD) cases is the result of an increase in risky sexual
practices by a growing number of gay men who believe HIV is no longer a
life-threatening illness.
Instability and promiscuity typically characterize homosexual relationships.
These two factors increase the incidence of serious and incurable stds. In
addition, some homosexual behaviors put practitioners at higher risk for a
variety of ailments...
Risky Sexual Behavior on the Rise Among Homosexuals. Despite two decades of
intensive efforts to educate homosexuals against the dangers of acquired
immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) and other stds, the incidence of unsafe sexual
practices that often result in various diseases is on the rise.
Young Homosexuals are at Increased Risk. Following in the footsteps of the
generation of homosexuals decimated by AIDS, younger homosexuals are engaging in
dangerous sexual practices at an alarming rate.
Homosexual Promiscuity. Studies indicate that the average male homosexual has
hundreds of sex partners in his lifetime:
' A.P. Bell and M.S. Weinberg, in their classic study of male and female
homosexuality, found that 43 percent of white male homosexuals had sex with 500
or more partners, with 28 percent having 1,000 or more sex partners.[9]
' In their study of the sexual profiles of 2,583 older homosexuals published in
Journal of Sex Research, Paul Van de Ven et al., found that only 2.7 percent
claimed to have had sex with one partner only. The most common response, given
by 21.6 percent of the respondents, was of having a hundred-one to five hundred
lifetime sex partners.[10]
' A survey conducted by the homosexual magazine Genre found that 24 percent of
the respondents said they had had more than a hundred sexual partners in their
lifetime. The magazine noted that several respondents suggested including a
category of those who had more than a thousand sexual partners.[11]
' In his study of male homosexuality in Western Sexuality: Practice and Precept
in Past and Present Times, M. Pollak found that "few homosexual relationships
last longer than two years, with many men reporting hundreds of lifetime
partners."[12]
' The journal AIDS reported that men involved in relationships engaged in anal
intercourse and oral-anal intercourse with greater frequency than those without
a steady partner.[15] Anal intercourse has been linked to a host of bacterial
and parasitical sexually transmitted diseases, including AIDS.
Human Papillomavirus (HPV). HPV is a collection of more than seventy types of
viruses that can cause warts, or papillomas, on various parts of the body. More
than twenty types of HPV are incurable STDs that can infect the genital tract of
both men and women. Most HPV infections are subclinical or asymptomatic, with
only one in a hundred people experiencing genital warts.
' HPV is "almost universal" among homosexuals. According to the homosexual
newspaper The Washington Blade: "A San Francisco study of Gay and bisexual men
revealed that HPV infection was almost universal among HIV-positive men, and
that 60 percent of HIV-negative men carried HPV."[17]
' HPV can lead to anal cancer.
Hepatitis: A potentially fatal liver disease that increases the risk of liver
cancer.

HIV/AIDS Among Homosexuals. The human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is
responsible for causing AIDS, for which there exists no cure.
' Homosexual men are the largest risk category. The CDC reports that homosexuals
comprise the single largest exposure category of the more than 600,000 males
with AIDS in the United States. As of December 1999, "men who have sex with men"
and "men who have sex with men and inject drugs" together accounted for 64
percent of the cumulative total of male AIDS cases.[39]

Violence in Lesbian and Homosexual Relationships.
...Homosexual and lesbian relationships are far more violent than are
traditional married households:
' The Bureau of Justice Statistics (U.S. Department of Justice) reports that
married women in traditional families experience the lowest rate of violence
compared with women in other types of relationships.[72]
It should be noted that most studies of family violence do not differentiate
between married and unmarried partner status. Studies that do make these
distinctions have found that marriage relationships tend to have the least
intimate partner violence when compared to cohabiting or dating
relationships.[73]
High Incidence of Mental Health Problems among Homosexuals and Lesbians. ...75
percent of the nearly 2,000 respondents had pursued psychological counseling of
some kind, many for treatment of long-term depression or sadness:...
Thirty-seven percent had been physically abused and 32 percent had been raped or
sexually attacked.
Greater Risk for Suicide.
' A study of twins that examined the relationship between homosexuality and
suicide, published in the Archives of General Psychiatry,found that homosexuals
with same-sex partners were at greater risk for overall mental health problems,
and were 6.5 times more likely than their twins to have attempted suicide. The
higher rate was not attributable to mental health or substance abuse
disorders.[75]
Reduced Life Span. A study published in the International Journal of
Epidemiology on the mortality rates of homosexualsconcluded that they have a
significantly reduced life expectancy:
In a major Canadian centre, life expectancy at age twenty for gay and bisexual
men is eight to twenty years less than for all men.
Those who advocate full acceptance of homosexual behavior choose to downplay the
growing and incontrovertible evidence regarding the serious, life-threatening
health effects associated with the homosexual lifestyle.
