1. How Muslims Feel by Dr. Daniel  Pipes
Hardball with Chris Matthews, MSNBC
CHRIS MATTHEWS, host:
Extracts:
Dr. Daniel  Pipes  is director of the Middle East  Forum, and a columnist for  the  Jerusalem  Post.
Dr. Pipes, let me ask you a couple of questions. We have been engaged in a new front, Americans, for now, a couple of weeks, we were never finished before in our lives. Let's break it down.
Arab street and all of the countries we're talking about, all the way to-to-Morocco to Jakarta, do the Isamic people hate us'
DANIEL PIPES (Director, Middle East Forum):
The Islamic people are in a funk.
Things have been going badly for a long time, two centuries.
Things are going well for us.

MATTHEWS: Lousy government, lousy economies, lousy opportunities in life.
Blame it on Israel, blame it on the US, is that it'

Dr. PIPES:  Simply put, yeah. They're angry that it's our party and they're excluded. They want it to be their party. And what we're seeing today with these demonstations, mass demonstrations across the Muslim world, is the-the expression of that frustration.

MATTHEWS: Is it the-is the-, to use the Hitler parallel,
like Germany was in the '30s, where they didn't like the treaty, they lost the war in World War I, they don't like their economic failure, they have to blame it on somebody, whether it's the Jews or it's the West or it's the treaty. Is that the same situation we're in'

Dr. PIPES:  Very much. There's a deep conspiratorial sense that the Muslim world was in good shape 200 years ago,
and then the West came in and stole it, literally stole it.
And now what the Muslims must do is push away the West and project everything from the West & build up their own true identity.

2. Gaza Rockets Stockpiled
Hamas-Gaza's missile stock passes 10,000 - and going up
DEBKAfile Exclusive Report

31 May. According to updates reaching DEBKAfile's military sources, Hamas had stockpiled more than 10,000 by early May in defiance of Israel's partial blockade of the Gaza Strip. Following April 9, when the Palestinian fundamentalists shot 133 rockets at seven Israeli cities, Egypt's military rulers persuaded Israel to accept a ceasefire in lieu of an operation for smashing this arsenal. By September, when Egypt holds elections which Hamas' parent the Muslim Brotherhood is heavily tipped to win, Hamas will have accumulated 11,000 missiles.
Firing at the rate of 150 missiles a day, Hamas is capable of keeping southern Israel under constant attack for 66 days running. Israel continues to hold back from stemming the arms flow to Gaza just as it has not hindered Hizballah's acquisition of thousands of advanced rockets, all pointing in one direction.

3. Syria to Target Gas Rigs in Next War, Warns Vilnai

by Gil Ronen

Minister of Home Front Defense Matan Vilnai described an exceedingly harsh scenario of the next war between Israel and its Arab neighbors Wednesday. Speaking to the heads of vital industries, Vilnai said that the next war will last at least a month and that Syria will target Israeli offshore gas fields.

Details of Vilnai's speech were published by Globes.

In the next round of fighting, he said, hundreds of missiles with half-ton warheads will strike central Israel daily.

In a conflagration with Hamas, the terror organization "will try very hard to hit Tel Aviv,' he assessed. 'Not everything will reach here [Tel Aviv] and most will fall on the way, but some rockets will strike here too.'

Accurate Syrian missiles will target Israeli economic interests like the offshore gas fields, he warned. 'The Syrians do not need to fire dozens of missiles at these facilities,' Vilnai explained. 'Their systems are accurate enough that by firing a few missiles ' everything goes up in the air. The offshore facilities are a soft underbelly.'

'The Arabs know how to learn lessons,' said Vilnai. 'They are not cowards and they do not run away like we were all taught in the past. They know they cannot defeat the IDF in the field of battle so they intend to hit the heartland with missiles.'

'We need to prepare for a war with Syria, with Hizbullah and with Hamas,' he told the industrialists. 'In an all-out war, most of your employees have been called up to the various fronts, and simultaneously, hundreds of missiles fall in central Israel. Not thousands, hundreds. We checked this and measured it. We calculated how many missiles they have, how many we can destroy in attacks we initiate, how many we can intercept in mid-flight and more. They will fire thousands of rockets and missiles daily and hundreds will hit central Israel. And this will take at least a month, including Fridays and Saturdays, without rest.'
