Isaiah -Chapter 45

[Isaiah 45:1] THUS SAITH THE LORD TO HIS ANOINTED, TO CYRUS, WHOSE RIGHT HAND I HAVE HOLDEN, TO SUBDUE NATIONS BEFORE HIM; AND I WILL LOOSE THE LOINS OF KINGS, TO OPEN BEFORE HIM THE TWO LEAVED GATES; AND THE GATES SHALL NOT BE SHUT;

  CYRUS
The Prophet Isaiah had already predicted that a ruler named Cyrus would be the one to free the exiles. Cyrus was recalled by NAME in Isaiah 44; 28, "To his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have held..." and in the next verse, 45; 1: "That says of Cyrus, He is my shepherd...”
Both traditional and modern commentators usually understand Isaiah chapter 45 to be referring to Cyrus the King of Persia. Cyrus was the King of Persia who conquered Babylon and enabled the Jews to return to Judea and rebuild the Temple.
Isaiah prophesied about 100 years before Cyrus. Josephus relates that CYRUS was shown his name written in the Prophecy of Isaiah and this is what led him to allow the Jews to return. Not only did Cyrus conquer Babylon and help the Jews return to their land, he also conquered Egypt and ruled over Nubia south of Egypt. Nubia was known as Cush. Cyrus also ruled over regions to the west of India and parts of Pakistan-India itself. The following verse in Isaiah can therefore be applied perhaps to Cyrus:

 "THUS SAYS THE LORD, THE LABOR OF EGYPT, AND MERCHANDISE OF ETHIOPIA [in Hebrew: “CUSH”], AND OF THE SABAEANS, MEN OF STATURE, SHALL COME OVER UNTO YOU, AND THEY SHALL BE YOURS: THEY SHALL COME AFTER YOU; IN CHAINS THEY SHALL COME OVER, AND THEY SHALL FALL DOWN UNTO YOU, THEY SHALL MAKE SUPPLICATION UNTO YOU, SAYING, SURELY GOD IS IN YOU; AND THERE IS NO ELSE, THERE IS NO OTHER GOD" (Isaiah 45;14).

We, however, believe this verse is not addressed primarily to Cyrus but to the Ten Tribes in Exile. Some proof of this has already been indicated: Concerning the idea of Cyrus, the following points should be noted:

There is a principle that Prophecies that were written down, even when they were fulfilled shortly afterwards, will have a larger application in a later period especially towards the Latter Days. The Prophecies are usually designed to accord to some degree with contemporary events or with things that would occur shortly after. The main gist of the Prophecies however was for the Latter Days. Even the Commentators who apply all of the chapter to Cyrus have to admit that it does not exactly fit in key details. It must have a wider application.

Even in the verses where the name CYRUS is expressly mentioned, the sages understood the verse as applying to Cyrus only in a PARTIAL SENSE: For example,
"The Holy One, Blessed He, said to the Anointed-Messiah, I have a complaint against Cyrus, I said he will build my House and gather in my exiles but he went and said, Whoever amongst my people wants to go up can do so [and build the House themselves]..." (Megilla 12; Rashi), i.e. the expression in the verse Isaiah 45;1: "...to his anointed, to Cyrus," was understood as applying to two different people, to the Anointed-Messiah and to Cyrus! Alternately the verse was formulated in deliberately ambiguous language giving Cyrus the potential if he so wanted to have done more than he actually did!
    The Commentary Daat Sofrim (Isaiah 45): <<For the address to Cyrus was not "To Cyrus his Anointed-Messiah" but rather it was said, "To his Anointed-Messiah, [and] to Cyrus," as if to two different entities.>>
The whole of this Prophecy of Isaiah is arranged in an oracular style of mainly short paragraphs with no necessary strong connection between them. The expression concerning "LABOR OF EGYPT, AND MERCHANDISE OF ETHIOPIA [in Hebrew, CUSH], AND OF THE SABAEANS" is not necessarily connected to the preceding verses concerning Cyrus. The following verses return to speak only of Israel. The verse itself speaks of an ultimate acknowledgement of the God of Israel by the captives. This could only apply to Israel. Israel is discussed before Cyrus is spoken of, and afterwards Israel is again mentioned. In Isaiah 43;3 it says "FOR I AM THE LORD YOUR GOD, THE HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL, YOUR SAVIOR, I GAVE EGYPT FOR YOUR ATONEMENT, ETHIOPIA [Hebrew: “CUSH”] AND SEBA UNDERNEATH YOU." Here Egypt, Cush, Seba are linked with Israel and can be understood in the Hebrew as being placed under Israel's subjection!!!
A simple reading of Isaiah chapter 45 does not leave much room for Cyrus, the emphasis is on Israel.

This is the verse we are primarily considering:

"THUS SAYS THE LORD, THE LABOR OF EGYPT, AND MERCHANDISE OF CUSH, AND OF THE SABAEANS, MEN OF STATURE, SHALL COME OVER UNTO YOU, AND THEY SHALL BE YOURS: THEY SHALL COME AFTER YOU; IN CHAINS THEY SHALL COME OVER, AND THEY SHALL FALL DOWN UNTO YOU, THEY SHALL MAKE SUPPLICATION UNTO YOU, SAYING, SURELY GOD IS IN YOU; AND THERE IS NO ELSE, THERE IS NO OTHER GOD" (ISAIAH 45;14).
One may take this verse as perhaps applying to Cyrus though there is no necessity to do so. Even if it is taken as applicable in part to CYRUS the context and the similar verse in Isaiah 43;3 concerning Israel says, "Egypt for your atonement, CUSH and Seba underneath you." This shows that the primary application is to Israel. In all the rest of chapter 45 following verse 14, Israel is addressed to and mentioned: "Israel shall be saved" (45;17) "the seed of Jacob" (45; 19), "all the seed of Israel" (45;24). You may yet not be convinced but take the verse as applying to Israel and consider our explanation:
    According to our understanding of the Prophet Isaiah (43;3 and 45;14 and the verses around them) it was predicted that the Lost Ten Tribes would rule over India, Egypt and much of Negro Africa. The trade with India would be theirs, the recompense arriving (via the Suez Canal) at Egypt would be theirs, and they would transport Negroes (many of whom were large-bodied) across the seas in chains. The whole passage ends on the point that in the Last Days they will return to worship the True God. In their own way they had always subconsciously acknowledged the One God Of Israel to some degree, but had publicly worshipped something else as explained at length elsewhere in Ephraim. In the Last days Israel will then worship the True God and descendants of the Negro slaves will also see the truth and bear witness to the God of Israel. We identify the Lost Ten Tribes headed by Britain and America as Israel. If we consider Britain and North America as one "Anglo-Saxon" entity then the Prophecy indicates that the Lost Ten Tribes are amongst them. The British ruled India. Economically they gained very much from trade with India, they ruled Egypt and controlled the Suez Canal linking the Mediterranean Sea with the East. They also controlled much of Africa and Negro Slaves in chains were sent by them and others acting on their behalf across the Sea to North America and to the West Indies. They have an ambivalent attitude towards the God of the Bible but formally worship in a way described in Isaiah in the rest of chapter 45.
    This is the simple meaning of the verse, BUT in order to understand and appreciate this plain meaning there are several other factors to consider.

The King James version says:
"THUS SAYS THE LORD, THE LABOR OF EGYPT, AND MERCHANDISE OF CUSH, AND OF THE SABAEANS, MEN OF STATURE, SHALL COME OVER UNTO YOU, AND THEY SHALL BE YOURS: THEY SHALL COME AFTER YOU; IN CHAINS THEY SHALL COME OVER, AND THEY SHALL FALL DOWN UNTO YOU, THEY SHALL MAKE SUPPLICATION UNTO YOU, SAYING, SURELY GOD IS IN YOU; AND THERE IS NONE ELSE, THERE IS NO OTHER GOD" (ISAIAH 45;14).


The expression "labor of Egypt" is an accurate translation but the words in Hebrew [yagiat Mitsraim] can also be rendered as "that which comes unto Egypt".
The "merchandise of Ethiopia" can also be rendered as the "merchandise of Cush". "Cush" is the Hebrew word translated as Ethiopia. "Cush” was also the Egyptian word for the region of Nubia meaning southern Egypt and the Sudan. The Greeks applied the name "Cush" to the whole of eastern Africa1. On the other hand, ethnic and geographical names such as "Kash" or "Kas" or "Kush" are also found throughout early Indian histories as well as in neighboring areas. In Modern Hebrew "Cushi" usually means a Negro of African origin and India is known as "Hodu". In Biblical Hebrew however there is no distinct name for India. Both Ethiopia and neighboring parts of Africa and India would have been referred to in Biblical Hebrew as CUSH. The ancient Sumerians and Assyrians used the same term ("Meluccha") both for Ethiopia and for northwest India. Classical Greek Geographers (such as Herodotos) referred to the area northwest of India as the "Ethiopia of Asia".
    The Aramaic Translations to the Bible often translate "Cush" as "Hodu" or "Hindiki" both of which mean India. The famous commentator Rashi also equated "CUSH" with India. There was a close connection between India, Ethiopia, and Africa. The Rabbinical Commentator and international traveler Avraham Iben Ezra noted a similarity between Ancient Egypt and India with a similar caste systems, sacred animals and so on. The verse in Isaiah may therefore be referring to India under the name Cush.>>

 [Isaiah 45:2] I WILL GO BEFORE THEE, AND MAKE THE CROOKED PLACES STRAIGHT: I WILL BREAK IN PIECES THE GATES OF BRASS, AND CUT IN SUNDER THE BARS OF IRON:

 [Isaiah 45:3] AND I WILL GIVE THEE THE TREASURES OF DARKNESS, AND HIDDEN RICHES OF SECRET PLACES, THAT THOU MAYEST KNOW THAT I, THE LORD, WHICH CALL THEE BY THY NAME, AM THE GOD OF ISRAEL.

 [Isaiah 45:4] FOR JACOB MY SERVANT'S SAKE, AND ISRAEL MINE ELECT, I HAVE EVEN CALLED THEE BY THY NAME: I HAVE SURNAMED THEE, THOUGH THOU HAST NOT KNOWN ME.

 [Isaiah 45:5] I AM THE LORD, AND THERE IS NONE ELSE, THERE IS NO GOD BESIDE ME: I GIRDED THEE, THOUGH THOU HAST NOT KNOWN ME:

 [Isaiah 45:6] THAT THEY MAY KNOW FROM THE RISING OF THE SUN, AND FROM THE WEST, THAT THERE IS NONE BESIDE ME. I AM THE LORD, AND THERE IS NONE ELSE.

 [Isaiah 45:7] I FORM THE LIGHT, AND CREATE DARKNESS: I MAKE PEACE, AND CREATE EVIL: I THE LORD DO  ALL THESE THINGS.            

 [Isaiah 45:8] DROP DOWN, YE HEAVENS, FROM ABOVE, AND LET THE SKIES POUR DOWN RIGHTEOUSNESS: LET THE EARTH OPEN, AND LET THEM BRING FORTH SALVATION, AND LET RIGHTEOUSNESS SPRING UP TOGETHER; I THE LORD HAVE CREATED IT.

 [Isaiah 45:9] WOE UNTO HIM THAT STRIVETH WITH HIS MAKER! LET THE POTSHERD STRIVE WITH THE   POTSHERDS OF THE EARTH. SHALL THE CLAY SAY TO HIM THAT FASHIONETH IT, WHAT MAKEST THOU? OR THY WORK, HE HATH NO HANDS?

 [Isaiah 45:10] WOE UNTO HIM THAT SAITH UNTO HIS FATHER, WHAT BEGETTEST THOU? OR TO THE WOMAN, WHAT HAST THOU BROUGHT FORTH?

 [Isaiah 45:11] THUS SAITH THE LORD, THE HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL, AND HIS MAKER, ASK ME OF THINGS TO   COME CONCERNING MY SONS, AND CONCERNING THE WORK OF MY HANDS COMMAND YE ME.   

 [Isaiah 45:12] I HAVE MADE THE EARTH, AND CREATED MAN UPON IT: I, EVEN MY HANDS, HAVE STRETCHED OUT THE HEAVENS, AND ALL THEIR HOST HAVE I COMMANDED.

 [Isaiah 45:13] I HAVE RAISED HIM UP IN RIGHTEOUSNESS, AND I WILL DIRECT ALL HIS WAYS: HE SHALL BUILD MY CITY, AND HE SHALL LET GO MY CAPTIVES, NOT FOR PRICE NOR REWARD, SAITH THE LORD OF HOSTS.

 [Isaiah 45:14] THUS SAITH THE LORD, THE LABOUR OF EGYPT, AND MERCHANDISE OF ETHIOPIA AND OF THE  SABEANS, MEN OF STATURE, SHALL COME OVER UNTO THEE, AND THEY SHALL BE THINE: THEY SHALL COME  AFTER THEE; IN CHAINS THEY SHALL COME OVER, AND THEY SHALL FALL DOWN UNTO THEE, THEY SHALL MAKE    SUPPLICATION UNTO THEE, SAYING, SURELY GOD IS IN THEE; AND THERE IS NONE ELSE, THERE IS NO GOD.
As we explained above the above verse can be explained to say: “That which comes to Egypt [via the Suez  Canal], the trade of India [Cush], and of the Sabeans [of negro Africa], shall come over [the sea] unto you. They will be yours, in chains they will come unto you….”
This was fulfilled by the British and Americans.

 [Isaiah 45:15] VERILY THOU ART A GOD THAT HIDEST THYSELF, O GOD OF ISRAEL, THE SAVIOUR.
A God who hides himself. In Hebrew “hides himself” is “Mistatar” from the root “Sater”. This is also the root for the Roman god “Saturn” who may originally have been based on a Hebrew or Phoenician prototype.  Some of the Romans were descended from Edomites. Edom had several areas of settlement including to the southeast of Israel and to the north and off the coast of the Phoenician Island of Tyre. Edom was heavily influenced by Israelite and Phoenician culture.  The ancient pagans used to identify foreign gods with figures from their own pantheon. In some sources both the Phoenicians and Romans identified the God of Israel with Saturn.

<<The Israelites were identified by others with a pagan god. The Celts of Gaul and Britain were also identified with this same god and in pagan thought this would imply that the Celts and Israelites had a mutual source of origin*1.           
     Ancient peoples (e.g. the Greeks and Romans) often registered abstract cultural values and historical facts in Mythological terms. A certain god or demi-god of heroic status (such as Hercules) would be used to represent a whole ethnic group in one phase of its existence whereas another such image would be used to symbolise that same people at a different stage. By considering aspects of these mythologies in conjunction with information gained from other sources further affirmation may be obtained for conclusions which have already been tentatively reached. Classical Greek and Roman legends may be understood as recording an Israelite migration to Britain and the west. These legends conform to ideas also expressed in British Celtic mythology and in popular  Jewish Rabbinical lore*2.

KRONOS, SATURN AND THE TITANS

“When the LORD your God will cut off the nations from before you, whither you go to possess them, and you succeed them, and dwell in the land.
“Take heed to yourself that you be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before you; and that you inquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so I will do likewise. (Deuteronomy 12;29-30).

    The Greeks (and after them, the Romans) said that Uranus was the first god. Uranus begat the Titans from his wife Thera (i.e. earth). Amongst the Titans was Saturn also known as Kronos and Typhon. Kronos was considered to be the same as the Caananite god "Baal Zephon". The Egyptians identified Baal Zephon (i.e. Saturn or Kronos) with Seth who figured in their own mythology often as representative of the Hyksos or Israelites. Saturn (i.e. Kronos*3) deposed Uranus and became king of the gods in his place. Saturn, in his turn, was also deposed by his son, Jupiter called Jove by the Romans. Jupiter expelled Saturn (from the east) who went to Italy and after a sojourn  there continued to Britain where he and the Titans established a kingdom and lived happily ever after.

Note: Saturn represented Israel or the Northern Israelites (Ten Tribes) and was exiled and went to Britain. The Arabs had a similar tradition based on Jewish sources.

    Sanchuniathon was a Phoenician writer believed to have lived ca.600 b.c.e. and is known to us due to his being quoted by other authors who came later. Philo of Alexandria (in Egypt) in about 54 b.c.e. quoted Sanchuniathon as saying:
 
    "Kronos, whom the Egyptians call Thouth, excelled in wisdom among the Phoenicians ...Kronos then, whom the Phoenicians call ISRAEL*4, who was king of the country  and subsequently after his decease  was deified as the star Saturn had an only begotten son ..called Jehud...he arrayed his son ...in royal apparel and sacrificed him"5.
Note: “Jehud” means Judah.   Sanchuniathon identifies the Israelites with Saturn.
    
     In the Bible (Genesis ch.22) it is related how Abraham was commanded to sacrifice Isaac who in terms of the Biblical promise was considered his ONLY SON. At the last minute an angel appeared to Abraham and prevented him from putting his son to death. The Phoenicians were heavily influenced by the Israelites and often amalgamated Israelite traditions to their own pagan ones. From the above quotation from Sanchuniathon one can see that Kronos-Saturn was identifiable (in their eyes) as Israel; other pagan sources tried to equate the God of Israel with Kronos-Saturn. They also identified the Canaanite Phoenician god Baal with Saturn6 ( Kronos) and Baal amongst the Israelites was sometimes confused with their own God. "Baal" in Hebrew literally means "Lord" or "Master" and after acquiring pagan idolatrous connotations the term became anathema to the Israelites. Originally the appellation may have had a legitimate applicability and names bearing the root "baal” may not necessarily reflect idolatrous influences.     
    Some sources associated Saturn (Kronos) or baal with Mount Cassius in Phoenicia which was also known as Mount Zephon. Saturn was called Baal Zephon which the Greeks rendered as Typhon. “Zephon” means “hidden” – the same as Saturn. The Romans therefore used a Hebrew name for this god which name was synonymous with the term employed by the Canaanites.

The Egyptian god Seth (known also as Typhon, i.e. "Baal Zephon") represented the Hyksos "shepherd-kings" of old who had left Egypt13. The Hyksos had been Hebrews and according to Martin Bernal,  "The Hyksos Seth was the Israelite God"14. Other traditions located the Titans and Saturn in the west. One version said that the Titans had been thrown into Tartarus meaning an underground region located (said Homer) in the Atlantic Ocean. Strabo understood Homer as connecting Tartarus with the vicinity of Tartessus (i.e. Tarshish on the Spanish Atlantic coast) and the west.
    Schulten quotes Kallimachos (Hymns of Delos, 174) as referring  to the GALLI (of Gaul) as Titans. A similar source (Etym.Magnum 220,6) states that Cyclops (one of the Titans) was the father of Galatos (i.e. the Galatians) and ancestor to the Galli. The Galli (Gauls) are also known from Irish sources as settlers in ancient Ireland and are referred to as Galion.
    As stated, Kronos (i.e. Saturn) was believed to have been deposed and to have gone west and to rule in the "Isles of the Dead" meaning the British Isles.

    "Cronus..and all the defeated Titans, except Atlas, were banished to a British island in the farthest west (or some say confined  in Tartarus..."15
    
    It is worth noting the implied worship of Cronus (Saturn) by the Celts in the following reference:

    "It is said also that the ancients sacrificed human victims to Cronus, as was done at Carthage while that city stood and as is still done among the Keltoi and certain other western nations" -Dionysus of Halicarnassus: Roman Antiquities I.36 16.                    
    Saturn according to Classical Mythology had been  exiled together with his brothers, the Titans. A source used by Plutarch (Isolde and Osira 31, no.259) says that the Titan, Typhon, fathered "Hierosolymus" [i.e. Jerusalem] and "Iudaeus" meaning Judah*17: Cronos and Typhon were originally probably the same. The god baal*18 was frequently depicted as a two horned deity and the name "Kronos" derives from the Hebrew "Keren" meaning "horn " in Hebrew. Similarly a horned god of the British Celts was known as "Cernunnos".     
    The same root "sater" (to hide) as that found in the name Saturn was also employed by the Prophet Isaiah in connection with Israel:

    "Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself [Hebrew:"miStaTeR" derived from the verb-root STR which is also the root of Saturn without the vowels], O God of Israel, the Saviour" (Isaiah 45;15).

Isaiah continues:
"They shall be ashamed, and also confounded, all of them: they shall go to confusion together that are makers of idols" (Isaiah 45;16).
    Pagan religions (especially those of the Northern Israelites) took Hebrew Biblical concepts and confused them with idolatrous ones. The God of Israel was in some cases identified with pagan idols or represented in idolatrous fashion.
This was forbidden but happened:
    Whatever the forces of idolatry seemed to offer was only at the very best a weak reflection of the One God who is directly reachable by those who acknowledge him. This truth will ultimately be clear to all and all those who took another path will be confounded.    

    “If your heart turn away, so that you will not hear, but shall be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them.
    “I denounce unto you this day, that you shall surely perish, and you shall not prolong your days upon the land  which you are passing over the Jordan to go to possess it.
(Deuteronomy 30;17-18).

    The Lost Tribes of Israel were exiled because they worshipped other gods (2-Kings 17;7 22), they confused Baal with the God of Israel (Hosea 2;16). This confusion was transmitted to foreigners who identified Baal (i.e. Typhon= Kronos= Saturn) with the god or progenitor of Israel. The foreigners also equated him with the god or progenitor of the western Celts especially those of the British Isles. The pagans believed that Kronos and his followers (i.e. the ancient Israelites) had been deposed from the east and had gone to Britain and the west. To some extent these equations were peculiar in application to the Jews and to the Western Celts and were based on fact: Bel (i.e. Baal) and Cernunnos (i.e. Kronos, i.e. Saturn), or Bel in the guise of Cernunnos,  were worshipped in the British Isles. The Jews and the western Celts did have a common ancestry and once worshipped the same God. The identification of the Western Celts with Israel is proven by the Bible and through history*19 and so these facts are echoed in Mythology.


 [Isaiah 45:16] THEY SHALL BE ASHAMED, AND ALSO CONFOUNDED, ALL OF THEM: THEY SHALL GO TO CONFUSION TOGETHER THAT ARE MAKERS OF IDOLS.

 [Isaiah 45:17] BUT ISRAEL SHALL BE SAVED IN THE LORD WITH AN EVERLASTING SALVATION: YE SHALL NOT BE ASHAMED NOR CONFOUNDED WORLD WITHOUT END.

 [Isaiah 45:18] FOR THUS SAITH THE LORD THAT CREATED THE HEAVENS; GOD HIMSELF THAT FORMED THE EARTH AND MADE IT; HE HATH ESTABLISHED IT, HE CREATED IT NOT IN VAIN, HE FORMED IT TO BE INHABITED: I AM THE LORD; AND THERE IS NONE ELSE.           

 [Isaiah 45:19] I HAVE NOT SPOKEN IN SECRET, IN A DARK PLACE OF THE EARTH: I SAID NOT UNTO THE SEED OF JACOB, SEEK YE ME IN VAIN: I THE LORD SPEAK RIGHTEOUSNESS, I DECLARE THINGS THAT ARE RIGHT.

 [Isaiah 45:20] ASSEMBLE YOURSELVES AND COME; DRAW NEAR TOGETHER, YE THAT ARE ESCAPED OF THE   NATIONS: THEY HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE THAT SET UP THE WOOD OF THEIR GRAVEN IMAGE, AND PRAY UNTO A GOD THAT CANNOT SAVE.

 [Isaiah 45:21] TELL YE, AND BRING THEM NEAR; YEA, LET THEM TAKE COUNSEL TOGETHER: WHO HATH DECLARED THIS FROM ANCIENT TIME? WHO HATH TOLD IT FROM THAT TIME? HAVE NOT I THE LORD? AND THERE IS NO GOD ELSE BESIDE ME; A JUST GOD AND A SAVIOUR; THERE IS NONE BESIDE ME.

 [Isaiah 45:22] LOOK UNTO ME, AND BE YE SAVED, ALL THE ENDS OF THE EARTH: FOR I AM GOD, AND THERE  IS NONE ELSE.                  
God is calling to Israel to return and wirship HIM.

 [Isaiah 45:23] I HAVE SWORN BY MYSELF, THE WORD IS GONE OUT OF MY MOUTH IN RIGHTEOUSNESS, AND  SHALL NOT RETURN, THAT UNTO ME EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW, EVERY TONGUE SHALL SWEAR.                   

 [Isaiah 45:24] SURELY, SHALL ONE SAY, IN THE LORD HAVE I RIGHTEOUSNESS AND STRENGTH: EVEN TO HIM  SHALL MEN COME; AND ALL THAT ARE INCENSED AGAINST HIM SHALL BE ASHAMED.          

 [Isaiah 45:25] IN THE LORD SHALL ALL THE SEED OF ISRAEL BE JUSTIFIED, AND SHALL GLORY.
