1. Claim that Palestinian Arabs are
Really Jews and Lost Israelites
http://www.engagement.org.il/
Brit-Am Comment: Our interest in this claim was aroused after seeing reviews of
the
book in question and after the independent journalist Joel Bainerman spent some
time
with us trying to convince us of the veracity of the report.
Our impression is that the claim IS NOT TRUE.
JUST THE OPPOSITE.
Even if it was true (which we doubt very much) it would apply to only
ca. 1%-5% (closer to the lower figure) of the Palestinian population.
Nevertheless it may be worth noting that such claims exist since some
free-thinking
and/or left-wing secular Jews may be making sue of them in the near future.
For a correct solution to the Palestinian Problem see:
Movement of Arab Populations (MAP)
http://www.britam.org/Questions/QuesMAP.html
When I mentioned this to Joel he replied that it was impractical.
We replied that moving the Palestinians away may not be possible at present but
events
in the future could unfold that would make it possible and even imperative.
The problem is that people think it immoral.
It is not immoral since it could save lives, suffering, and a chance for
permanent peace.
Movements of populations is in effect a frequent occurrence even in our times.
Greeks were moved out of Turkey.
Turks were moved out of Bulgaria.
Jews were moved out of Arab Countries.
Jews were moved out of Sinai and after that out of Gush Katif, etc, etc.
Sometimes it is necessary and therefore should be done as soon as possible to
avoid unnecessary bloodshed.
If people become aware of this possibility both amongst the Jews and Gentiles
then it may be put into effect
at some time in the future.

2. Carter: Israel has 150 Nukes
http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/126317
by Gil Ronen
(IsraelNN.com) Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter has publicly acknowledged that
Israel has nuclear weapons. In an appearance at a British literary festival
Sunday, Carter was asked about Western efforts to curb Iran's nuclear program.
"The U.S. has more than 12,000 nuclear weapons, the Soviet Union has about the
same, Great Britain and France have several hundred, and Israel has 150 or
more," he told the audience.
The comments caused consternation in Israel, which traditionally believes the
best deterrence is achieved by a policy of deliberate fuzziness on the claims
regarding a nuclear arsenal.
Zeevi-Farkash: Carter "offended."
According to JTA, Jerusalem officials, who largely shunned Carter during his
recent visit to Israel, declined comment on his new statements.
Aharon Zeevi-Farkash, former chief of Israel's military intelligence, suggested
Carter may have spoken in response to feeling "offended" at being snubbed by the
Olmert government.
"The problem is that there are those who can use these statements when it comes
to discussing the international effort to prevent Iran getting nuclear weapons,"
Zeevi-Farkash told Voice of Israel Radio.

3. Farmers under
Qassam
fire stop [for an hour only] shipments of food to Gaza
by Yonat Atlas
http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3548867,00.html
Dozens of farmers from Gaza-vicinity communities block trucks headed for Sufa
border crossing. 'It's inconceivable that while we are being attacked with
Qassam rockets, we're also sending food into Gaza,' says protestor
A large group of farmers from communities in southern Israel under constant
bombardment from Gaza's terror groups arrived at the Sufa border crossing and
prevented the transfer of provisions into the Strip.
The farmers said they were demonstrating against Israel's policy of continuing
to ship aid into Gaza while rocket attacks continue to emanate from the
territory.
The protest seemed to resound even louder when, with the demonstration in full
gear, Israeli troops operating near Sufa came under attack from Palestinian
mortar shell barrages. An IDF soldier was lightly wounded in the clashes.
The farmers blocked the road leading up to the crossing with their cars and
prevented trucks from unloading their cargo for almost an hour. Due to the
protest and the nearby clashes, several of the truck drivers backed away from
the crossing. The group of farmers left a short while afterwards.
"'It's inconceivable that while we are being attacked with Qassam rockets, we're
also sending food into Gaza," said Itamar Gilad, a resident of Dekel in the
Eshkol Regional Council.
"We have no intention of sitting on our hands and just accepting daily rocket
attacks on our homes. If there is no security in our lives, then the provisions
will not pass through our regional council.
"If the residents of Ashkelon and Sderot have no objection to the goods passing
through their towns, then
let the trucks make their deliveries to the Erez crossing (in northern Gaza) ?
but they cannot come in through our home."
The group said they would continue to block the road until the shipments are no
longer made through Sufa.

5. Washington asks nuclear watchdog to
search for two more Syrian nuclear sites - report
http://www.debka.com/index.php
May 29, 2008, 3:00 PM (GMT+02:00)
According to the Washington Post, US officials have identified at least three
suspected nuclear sites in Syria, two more than the Al Kibar reactor Israel
bombed last year, and passed the information to the International Atomic Energy
Agency. This confirms the Oct. 25, 2007, disclosure by DEBKAfile military
sources that the Israeli raid of Sept. 6 had destroyed at least two nuclear
sites in Syria.
Washington released its request to the IAEA now - both to point up its
disapproval of the Israeli prime minister Ehud Olmert?s peace talks with
Damascus and to continue the pressure on Syrian president Bashar Assad. More
such disclosures are therefore expected.
CIA Director Michael V. Hayden told the WP that the intelligence community's
insight into Syria's nuclear ambitions had deepened since the Israeli raid. "Do
not assume that Al Kibra exhausted our knowledge of Syrian efforts with regard
to nuclear weapons."
Our military sources add: The fact that Syria was building three interconnected
nuclear sites, a North Korean reactor and facilities for supplying nuclear fuel
rods and fuel processing for extracting plutonium, proves Damascus was close to
completing a weaponization program fueled by plutonium rather than enriched
uranium. Both American and Israeli sources reported that the reactor was only
weeks or months away from being ready for production.
Our sources add that if Syria was that close, how much closer must Iran, the
senior partner in the alliance, be to its goal of a homemade nuclear weapon?
Syria has not responded to any IAEA requests for a date to conduct inspections.
