Summary of Brit-Am Commentary to Hosea 9
Special laws apply to Israelites that are not relevant to other peoples. Israel will be punished for its idolatry and wrongdoing even though other peoples are not. Some of the Ten Tribes went to Egypt. In Assyrian Exiles the Israelites will no longer keep the Law. Acts of terrorism of disastrous proportions will be committed against Ephraim by the followers of Mahomed who will have gathered together in Egypt. Maimondies in his "Letter to Yemen" spoke against Islam and identified Mahomed as the "Mad Man", evil prophet, and religious leader prophesied about in Hosea ch.9. Abortion brings a curse on Israel. Ephraim will have been connected to the Phoenician city of Tyre who will betray them, cause their children to be slaughtered, and help the Assyrians transport them overseas. Ephraim will be forced to move from place to place.

Re Ephraimite opposition to rebuilding the Temple
I noted with joy recently the movement of the Menorah from the Cardo closer to Kotel.

But Ruchamah is absolutely right that there will huge opposition to the re-establishment of the Temple. However, I hope it will not come from true Ephraimites who should understand the pivotal and prophetic significance of re-establishing the Temple. It is mainstream Christianity that has no clue of its necessity even though a simple Bible study would demonstrate the need in order to at least fulfill prophecy. Until they study their Bibles with a heart for  truth they will remain ignorant and deceived by anti-Jewish teaching.

Those of us who have maintained contacts in this sphere should sow the seeds of the likelihood of the resumption of the Temple service and why it is a good thing for Joes as well as Jews. We have the responsibility and opportunity to instruct any who will listen so that they might begin to move towards Biblical truth and not be caught in the error of further condemnation of Judah. Thank you Ruchamah for bringing this topic up.
