Dear Yair,

In reference to Brit-Am 1075, Meshech and Tubal Scroll Fiasco

Any and all of us most certainly should understand WHY this statement was made.  I would think that most, if not all, of us who are Christians in the USA are appalled that the leadership of our country is knowingly or unknowingly endeavoring to toss away with the flip of an ink pen, the country given to Israel by [the Almighty] God Himself. 

I, for one, do NOT expect an apology.  I have been wondering about him myself. 

In studying the OT Kings of Judah and Israel, there were many who were ungodly as unfortunately are many of our kings/presidents/queens who are supposed to be descended from the throne of David.  Just because they are from that line does not give them access to Godly wisdom or ability to keep what wisdom has been given them; even Solomon sold his gift of wisdom for folly and therefore God wrenched the united Israeli kingdom into two kingdoms, the Northern 10 tribes and the Southern 2 tribes.  Ah folly ....

Those of us who know who we are, will not be deterred or swayed by such statements. 
 
The problem is that there are people who oppose the Brit Am message.  They have their own agendas.  There are groups who say that the tribes are to be found in eastern peoples, and groups who say that Bush and America are the Gog Magog people.  These groups will all use this to support their cause and this may make it harder for Brit Am to spread the message to Judah as to who their brothers are.
 
Nothing has changed as far as Ephraim is concerned.  Our path remains the same.  We need to know who we are.  We need to know why we were removed from the land to begin with.  We need to repent, accept our punishment, and wait upon our Creator to make our path of return known to us.
 
Things may look bleak, but I believe that Ephraim is still on course.

While it is very important to study the Brit/Am/Israel connection, I really feel that is also vitally important to recognize current events such as Israel security issues, the building of the 3rd temple, and the "remnant of Israel" which is  to be.

I saw the video about the scroll given to Pres. Bush and read by a rabbi. 
My question is: If the people of Israel are God's chosen people why are you depending on the USA to defend you?

First of all the "scroll" was not given to President Bush.
It was prepared and read out over the video you saw and received media coverage.
In regards to your question:
Your question is more complicated than it looks.
First of all before considering whether or not the USA should "defend" Israel we want the USA to STOP weakening us and to STOP lessening our ability to defend ourselves and to STOP enabling our enemies to attack us.
The USA does all these things every time it pressures Israel to make concessions to the Palestinians and every time it supports them.
The USA also weakens Israel by supporting "progressive" "democratic" "secular" elements in Israeli society.
Now, back to your question:
"The people of Israel" in Biblical Terms represent Judah.
The USA  gives expression to Joseph.
Our understanding is that in the End Times Joseph should help Judah return to the land, develop it, and ingather primarily the Exiles of Judah.

At a later stage there will be an ingathering of the Lost Tribes.
Both Judah and Joseph are leading elements of Israel.
All of Israel are the Chosen People.
Each Tribe has its own characteristics and destiny. The Bible gives its own emphasis to both Judah and Joseph as may be seen by reading the Bible at its literal level or alongside the Brit-Am Commentaries to Biblical Books.

Apart from the USA being Joseph the return of the Jews to their Land is what the Almighty considers should be done. God could do it Himself miraculously but HE has chosen, at this stage,  to leave it to human decision.
This is similar to saying that God wants us to do good. We may choose to do so or not.
If we do not, the will of God has not been done even though IF HE so chooses the good can be done in other ways.
We do not have to have all the answers.
We also should not always have to ask why certain tasks are laid upon us and not on the shoulders of others.

Concerning the State of Israel and the USA let us attempt an overall view:
How Does the USA help Israel?
The USA helps Israel first of all by being what it is.
If it were not for the USA then the chances are that other nations such as Russia, the EU, China, Iran, or who knows what,  would already be teaming up with the Arabs to attack Israel.
The Jewish State of Israel is hated by most nations of the world because it is populated by Jews and Jews are hated because they represent the Will of the Almighty.
Any person or any nation that wishes to do the will of the Almighty should support the State of Israel.

The USA helped Israel in the Middle East by occupying Iraq which was a dangerous enemy of Israel. The US presence in Iraq also softens the threat to Israel from other Middle East nations.
The USA helps Israel greatly through ongoing military and economic assistance which is a continuation of its massive aid to Israel in recent times.
This all comes with a price.
The USA also benefits from its assistance to Israel.
One could say that the USA has instinctively invested in Israel but negative influences sometimes give rise to apparent sabotage of its own investment.
The problem is more with the USA than with us.
The USA is the one that should be answering the questions.
