1. Canopies at Weddings: A widely spread phenomenon
From: TheBeerDawg
Subject: Re: "Brit-Am Now"-522 re ;chuppes

I believe many cultures have traditions of being married under a canopy of some sort .I once had to make repairs to a wedding canopy for some Indian friends .There are also many other marriage traditions which seem to be common among all cultures .Sounds like a good study for someone who is interested (I see a doctorate thesis in some ones future) keep up the good work

2. Question on Immigration to Israel
Question:
From: paul
Subject: Immigration

Rabbi Davidiy, I'm of Irish/German/Polish descent, how would a non-jew request to live in the Holy land. I'm a Christian who is avid supported of the State of Israel, who believes that the the House of Israel and the House of Judah can live side by side and if necassary fight the arab terrorist from taking one inch of land promised to Abraham and His descendents through Issac. I'm interested in immigrating please give me guidance.

Shalom
Paul

Answer:
Paul Shalom,
I am not a rabbi and though the title may be flattering I would prefer not to be called one.
The State of Israel does not absorb non-Jews from the West (or in principle from anywhere else though loopholes have been made available for many immigrants from Russia).
The only possibility open to you as far as I know is to come to Israel on a Tourist Visa. In so far as Brit-Am Israelite criteria apply to your situation it makes no difference. Brit-Am is not widely recognized (at least so far) in Israel and Brit-Am findings are on the whole not known of ,let alone admitted to. Perhaps things will change in the future but for the moment that is the situation.
God bless you
Yair Davidiy

3. The Tribes (3rd edition) Complimented
(a) Dear Mr. Davidy:
I received the latest edition of The Tribes for review a few days ago, and it is outstanding--even better than the earlier editions. I will review it for The Journal, news of the Churches of God.
Thanks,
Mac Overton

Thank you Yair for the copy of your book on 'The Tribes' (3rd edition). It is absolutely tremendous and a very valuable part of my library.

Shalom Yair,
Just wanted to let you know that I am really very much enjoying the Brit Am Now articles, the diversity of opinion, mixed backgrounds of contributors, as well as all their combined experience, makes for a massive resource of knowledge for us all . It also shows us, that the Brit Am message, as I call it, is reaching into all the places Israel dwells, and slowly slowly, our voice is being heard by more and more ! Hallel-U-YahH !
Keep up the good work....everybody !!!

5. The Snake and Psychic Powers
From: Rosemary
Subject: RE: "Brit-Am Now"-521

Shalom Yair,

I wanted to comment on one of your possibilities below. After considerable study in this area, I wanted to share what I have come to understand in reference to the symbol of the "snake". I firmly believe that the snake represents psychic powers. These can be good and then again, maybe not so good as to be "psychic" is representative of "knowing" as in Genesis when Eve tasted of the forbidden fruit which most certainly removed her and Adam from their state of innocence. For certain, one must give serious consideration to this idea.
Rabbi Y. Ginsburgh has recently published a very good book that might explain some things to those who can receive what he has to say: "Body, Mind, and Soul."
R. Fermenich

Brit-Am Comment: One of the ancestors of David was called NAHSHON ("Nachshon" see Ruth 4:20) which name literally means "Little Snake".
[Ruth 4:18] NOW THESE ARE THE GENERATIONS OF PHAREZ: PHAREZ BEGAT HEZRON,
[Ruth 4:19] AND HEZRON BEGAT RAM, AND RAM BEGAT AMMINADAB,
[Ruth 4:20] AND AMMINADAB BEGAT NAHSHON, AND NAHSHON BEGAT SALMON,
[Ruth 4:21] AND SALMON BEGAT BOAZ, AND BOAZ BEGAT OBED,
[Ruth 4:22] AND OBED BEGAT JESSE, AND JESSE BEGAT DAVID.

THE TRIBES: 3rd Edition
THE TRIBES. THE ISRAELITE ORIGINS OF WESTERN PEOPLES/ third edition.
$30 Price includes postage by airmail. Price may be temporary.

THE TRIBES proves that most of the ancient Israelites were exiled and lost their identity. They eventually migrated to Western Europe where they formed distinct nationalities. Their descendants populated North America, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. In THE TRIBES Specific Israelite Tribes and Tribal clans are traced to present-day ethnic groups. Proof is provided from the Bible, Rabbinical Sources, History, Archaeology, Mythology, and Linguistics. National symbols and ethnic characteristics are also analyzed. Additional features include: a Discussion of DNA findings, up-to-date international comparative statistics, a detailed list of Biblical Proofs, new information of ground-breaking importance.
THE TRIBES proves its case with irrefutable evidence adequately referenced with academically acceptable sources. This could be the most important work of our times! The author, Yair Davidiy, is an Australian-born scholar living in Israel.

THE TRIBES includes a Rabbinical Approbation and a Foreword from Rabbi Avraham Feld of the Maccabee Institute, Jerusalem, Israel.

Since it was first published in 1993 "THE TRIBES" has gone through several printings and caused quite a sensation.
In the past copies of the work sold out quickly and it became something of a collector's item.
Now "THE TRIBES" is once more available in a new improved third edition incorporating recent discoveries, up-to-date information, and new insights. THE TRIBES contains numerous maps and illustrations.
