Subject: Re: Brit-Am Radio Interview
Yair, I just finished listening to the radio interview, wow ! it was great. The interviewer was very good too. I hope this is the beginning of many radio and possibly tv interviews... Regards, Sue
b. Ephraim Frank <shevet@netvision.net.il>
Shalom Yair and Rabbi Feld,
Great interview and you both did very well. I was especially interested in
what Rabbi Feld was saying about special visas for Ephraimites who want to
come to the land to study or volunteer and learn more about their heritage
and roots. Yair, perhaps you could emphasize more from your biblical perspective.
Also help the audience define the differences between the two houses, especially by addressing which one is the Jewish and which was is not. To call both houses "Jews" is confusing.
As you have stated and researched, we know that
most of the lost Israelites are in the north and west and are Christians of
sorts, thus it would not be right to refer to them as Jews
but rather "Israelites" or "Ephraimites."
Blessings and a Joy filled Hanukkah

Thank you, thank you, thank you Tamar . Your interview with Yair Davidy and Rabbi Avraham Feld was fascinating. I would love to hear more about this fascinationg subject . Please consider inviting them back again. You are a very knowledgeable and gracious host with an excellent voice projection . The time was far too short. One hour went by like five minutes .
Let me know again next time when when they will be speaking .
Thank you again.

May G-d bless and prosper the Jewish state of Israel . One of the surest signs that we are in the end of days ( the time of Jacob's trouble ) is that all 12 tribes ( including the Jews ) are now being persecuted in a big way. This present wave of persecution is not falling on the Gentile nations in the same way that it is falling on Israelites of all 12 tribes . ( Actually there are 13 tribes, since there is no tribe of Joseph as such , rather Ephraim and Menasseh ) .

Hello Yair,
I have listened to the broadcast, and have downloaded it for closer study later.
My initial reaction is that both of you came over very well, and it was clear that you know what you were talking about. I can only say that this is an incredibly efficient way of getting the message across and to let others know that we are here. Many times in conversation I am struck by the fact that people are generally completely unaware of the Lost Ten Tribes, never mind that they may be part of them.
TV next ? :o)

e. Dear Yair
I listened to the broadcast and though it was fine as far as it went, I couldn't help thinking that Israel Radio didn't take enough time to examine the subject thoroughly ...
[the] seeming insistence that all of The Houses of Israel were part of 'Judah' or 'Jewish' rather than both houses being Israel as a whole was most irritating. A history lesson was needed here though you and Rabbi Feld did your best in the short time allotted to you.
I suggest, because of the undoubted interest the broadcast will have generated, that you 'beg borrow or steal' a regular slot on Israel Radio and keep the momentum going. It is too important and fundamental a subject to stop now. To that end, and I suggest you ask your email list to do the same, I will email Radio Israel to put on such a regular feature.
God bless

f. A very positive interview from you both. Thanks!

2. Questions
Q: What about the Pathans?
Hi Yair,
I heard you on Arutz 7 with Tamar Yona.
It was interesting. I check out your website too.
I have seen other sources claiming that the 10 Lost tribes went more to the east.
In particular the largest group are the Pathens who live in Pakistan and Afghanistan and number about 15,000,000
I This is true it can change the reality in Israel some day, and perhaps they may be the laborers who help build the 3rd Temple.
The greatest sources I've read for this is http://www.moshiach.com/features/tribes/default.php
Have you seen this and what do you think?
Shabbat Shalom
Shlomo
Answer:
We do not think these people are descended on the whole from the Lost Ten Tribes since they do not fulfill the Criteria that we use to determine this matter.
See
Criteria for Ephraimites
http://www.britam.org/criteria.html
and also
The Burma Blues
http://britam.org/Burma.html
As for
http://www.moshiach.com/features/tribes/default.php
They do some good work but are mistaken in their approach, have got many of their facts wrong concerning the Lost Ten Tribes, and should consult with Brit-Am or at the least stick with their own
speciality.
Q: "Torah observant Israelite" wishes to make Aliyah
I listened to you and Rabbi Feld, on Tamar Yonah the other day, awesome teaching, however, I need some help in order to make AliYah, because, I am not registered as a Yehudite, but I am a Torah observant Israelite, no need to go further, you know what it is. If you do not mind get back with me for some tips for my family and myself to be able to get out of the U.S. as soon as possible, to make AliYah, thank you, shalom aleichem, R
Answer:
We get quite a few questions such as yours.
I do not know who builds up these type of expectations.
It is not Brit-Am.
Our approach at present is:
Joseph had his task in history to fulfill which on the whole he did.
Joseph also received an inheritance (or at least a partial one) outside of the Land of Israel, Judah did not.
Eventually Judah and Joseph will reunite and the Lost Ten Tribes (Joseph) will receive an inheritance in the Land.
That stage has not yet been reached.
It is part of the task of Judah to redeem the Land and keep the law.
Judah in a sense is preparing the way for the others.
Joseph should assist Judah in this task and the USA to a degree has assisted Judah and so have the other Israelite dominated nations at various stages done so, to a degree. They should and could have done more
and so could Judah but we all have to put the past behind us and think positively about the future
and about the "now and here-onwards".
Judah at present is not ready to accommodate those of Joseph who do not wish to assimilate with Judah
and even those who are do not have an easy time.
There is nothing to be done about this situation at present other than encourage the spread of the
Brit-Am message and facilitate Brit-Am research and deepening of Brit-Am awareness.
Anyone who says otherwise than the above is misled and misleading and often counter-productive.
We are sorry to disappoint you and others and we really are on your side
but we all have to make the most of reality and fulfill the goals the Almighty has set for us
according to the understanding HE allows us at this stage.

Do you think that members of the Lost Tribes should move to Israel at present?
You will find about 11 references to answers we have made to similar questions in the
past and more such answers probably exist elsewhere in our archives.
Q: What are you doing?
Shalom Alejem! Iam very happy to know that you are looking for us we being studing Tora from some time now we had discover that we are part of the lost tribes we like to do aliyah but the problem they want proof. In my case I know my great gran father was a converted in catholic but he was observing shabat, I we like to know what are you doing to let us go back to the land not as converted but as Benei Yisrael.
Let me know on any news
Shalom "J"
Answer:
At present nothing can be done other than spread Brit-Am awareness and deepen our own understanding.
We have to pray and try to understand what the Almighty wishes of us.

3. Request to Modernize Bible Commentary Version

Subject: Re: 2-Samuel 5-3
Is there any way you can translate the Hebrew into English for us without the Thee's and Thou's and Wilt Thou's of the Christian bible? Just "You" and "We" and "Will you", etc. I feel like I'm reading a Christian bible when I read your translations and it bothers me. Thanks.
Julia
Answer:
Other people have made a similar request in the past.
Even Christians would prefer a more modern and even a more Jewish
version of Scripture.
We do not translate scripture. We use an existing translation
and add commentary to it. Where the Translation differs greatly from our understanding of
the intended meaning we point it out.
The problem is we need a version we can download for free and use freely.
We need a version that is popular and well known and generally accepted
We use the King James at present because:
It was available for downloading and is in the Public Domain.
It is reasonably accurate and where it is not we can point out the in accuracies in our commentary
where these concern our explanation.
It is a work of art that retains its charm despite the antiquated "thees" and "thous".
It is acceptable to more people than any other version.
Most Jewish translations actually also seem to use the KJ but they modernize the language
somewhat and make necessary alterations where the KJ has departed from the simple meaning due
to doctrinal considerations.
We could continue to use the KJ and simply modernize the language a little.
I doubt however that in the immediate future we will do this but we might.
My advice for Jewish subscribers is that they read the Hebrew original alongside our own
explanations. If they cannot read Hebrew they should try to learn how to do so.
A few hours each week for a couple of weeks may be all that is needed.
Progress can be surprisingly
God willing the work of Brit-Am will continue and we will conduct it as long and as well as we can.
