item #3. The Star of David Spells "David"?
<<"In the Middle Ages Jews were superstitious (by our standards) just as
everybody else was at that time.">>
I agree. Christians likewise used crosses as talismans in much the same way:
Superstition ruled the day and both people groups used their symbols to keep
demons and curses away.
In my limited studies of the subject, I found that the five pointed star was
and presently is, the primary symbol used in occult practices. I have also
seen use of the inverted cross, and the Lord's Prayer recited backwards, but
I have honestly not seen the Star of David used in magic, apart from a
symbol used to keep demons away. I leave room for correction in the matter,
but at present, those are my findings.
This subject interest me because I have encountered Christians who point the
finger at use of the Star of David, yet do not realize how their own Crosses
have been used in occult history.
Again, I think the symbol belongs to the Almighty. He used it first, in
snowflakes. If along the way people have tried to hijack it for unholy
purposes, I think we should simply take it back as the honored and
meaningful symbol it is to the Jewish people, and to those who love them.

3. Daffodils Were Not Enough! The Phoenicians Brought Leeks to Wales As Well!

Phoenicians are said to have introduced the leek to Wales when they were trading for tin in the British Isles---a casual act that would unexpectedly elevate this humble plant to national status a thousand years later. Legend has it that some 60 years after St. David's death, in 640 AD, the Briton King Cadwallader was sorely pressed by invading Saxons. To distinguish themselves from the enemy, the Welsh wore leeks in their hats---and subsequently gained a great victory over their enemies.
4. Max Rambow: Snowing Magen Davids in Saudi Arabia?
Subject: Re: "Brit-Am Now"-647
Hi Yair
There was a family who worked for an oil company in Saudi Arabia some years back who traveled to and took many pictures while there of Mt. Sinai and its environs but while on one of these trips there was a freak snow storm in which all flakes were the star of David. I've seen the video footage, it was pretty amazing. It was on their web site which alas I have forgotten, perhaps one of your readers remembers?
Sincerely Max

item # 3. Tracy Wright: Scottish
Heritage of Southerners
<<Does the meaning of "union jack" mean the union of the house of Jacob?
I would love to hear some thoughts on this subject!!!
Thanks!
Tracy Wright>>
First thing Tracy - the "union jack" is not the proper name for the national
flag of the United Kingdom of Great Britain. In correct vexillogical terms
it is called the Union Flag and is only designated a "Jack" if it is flown
from the "Jack" on board ships of the Royal Navy, as a jack, a small flag at
the bowsprit.
There is also a "Union Jack" for the United States Navy, which is the canton
of the Ensign and is the same size. It is also known as a navy jack. The
Confederate States of America also had a naval jack, which was the National
Flag of that once great sovereign state.
The association of the term with the union of the (whole) house of Jacob is
in error, as the United Kingdom of Great Britain is only part of the
Commonwealth of Israel. There are countries like Ireland, Norway, The
Netherlands, Sweden, France, Belgium, Iceland, Finland etc - to name just a
few - that are not part of the UK but are Israelite nations never the less!
The only time all of Israel was a United Kingdom was under David and
Solomon - as prophesised - and then they became a "company of nations" after
the disintegration of this united kingdom. The United Kingdom of Great
Britain is exactly as it says.
It is believed that the term was popularised due to the fact that James IV &
I was the monarch of both Scotland and England. It was later assumed to be
fact by British-Israelite writers, and assumed inconsistently by
Anglo-Israelite writers.
I hope that is helpful Tracy.
