Susia
Yair Davidiy used to live in Susia in the southern Hebron Hills.
From that spot "The Tribes" was published and Brit-Am in effect began.

Below is some information about Ancient Susia.
Tunnels to the Synagogue
In the southern Hebron Hills there once existed the Jewish village of Susia. A modern settlement by the same namenow stands near the old one which has been partially reconstructed.
The old settlement possibly contained a few thousand inhabitants in the period around 300 (or earlier)-800 CE.
In that area (and throughout much of Israel) underneath the top soil you encounter a thin layer of strong rock.
Underneath the rock the ground is chalky and can be easily hollowed out with the rock layer above servingas a natural roof. Most homes in ancient Susia had a structure above ground with several rooms underground.
The homes were all connected by large tunnels and included caverns for storing supplies and cisterns of water.
The tunnels converged on the local synagogue that also served as a small fortress.
In times of trouble (raids by desert marauders, etc) it is thought that the inhabitants would converge via the tunnels on the localsynagogue and hold out until trouble was over.
Excavations of The underground tunnels, storage room, and ancient synagogue
can still be seen and experienced.

Some of these caverns have been turned into lecture rooms and one contains a small movie theater.
We once considered holding a Brit-Am conference in the area.
The area is very beautiful and the ambience is inspiring.

The ancient village was comprised of numerous two-storied buildings built with large well-dressed stones. Cultural standards were high.
Each building usually contained a ritual purification bath (mikvah) and underground rooms. The rooms were plastered over.
The plaster is often still viewable.  It was so effective that a room (in
one case) was divided by a plastered-over wall: On one side of the wallwas a water cistern and on the other was a storage area for parchment records. There was no worry about water seeping through the wall and damaging the records.
The underground rooms comprised both natural caverns that had been renovated and rooms that had been hollowed out.
The underground rooms provided a natural insulation in the desert climate that can be quite cold at night and very hot by day.
These rooms included a wine cellar, and work shops for pottery, and an olive press, as well as dwelling places.
Plastered Walls divided the caverns up into rooms. The rooms of one house were sometimes adjacent to those of another.
In times of trouble underground tunnels and the breaking of holes in partition walls enabled the inhabitants to reach the synagogue
that was built like a fortress in a slightly elevated area.  A very large boulder would be rolled into the entrance of the synagogue blocking it up completely.
The place was abandoned sometime in the 700s- early 800s CE. The abandonment  is associated with worsening conditions after the Arab conquest of "Palestine".  The inhabitants appear to have packed everything up in an orderly fashion and left taking whatever they could with them.
Nobody knows where they went to.
I have been through the tunnels and caves many times. It is quite an experience.

1. What Brit-Am Can Do
Brit-Am can present information that shows that the Hebrew Bible strongly indicates the Lost Ten Tribes
to amongst Western Nations especially the English-speaking ones.
Brit-Am can show that our interpretation of the Hebrew Bible concerning the Lost Ten tribes is consistent with Talmudic
and Talmud related opinion and the opinion of the greatest of Rabbinical Commentators.
Brit-Am can provide historical explanations as to how the Lost Ten Tribes reached the areas they are now on. These explanations
are referenced by academically accepted works BUT they are not in line with conventional academic views. Nevertheless there is enough
leeway in the scenario we describe for even those who do not agree with us regarding the history to find feasible alternatives
acceptable to themselves.  The emphasis is on Scripture but history and all related studies are also  very important.

We can present this information to both Joseph and to Judah and provide an address for reference and queries.
We are the only body at present that provides these possibilities.

2. What Brit-Am Cannot or Will Not Do
We cannot change Laws of the State of Israel
We cannot change the Jewish or Christian religions

We can however provide correct information that may well be duly considered and be effective

Dear Mr Yair Dividiy

This is just a short word of encouragement for the work that you are doing.

I have bought and read your book "Biblical Truth" with delight and read all your emails carefully.  I refer to you and/or website often in my communications as one of the foremost authorities on the identification of the House of Israel.  I also appreciate how you and Steve Collins support each other in your writings. Each of you are pillars of knowledge on your own, but even more supportive through your parallel stand on the two house "theory".

As a small help financially, I plan on subscribing to your quarterly magazine.  I would like to do more in the future.  In the meantime, thank you very, very much for all that you have done for so many people.

Kindest regards

Rudy Rempel

P.S.  My background is Mennonite, a late Reformation group of mostly "Dutch" origin.  If you ever find any indication of their tribal identity, please pass it on to me.  My people are certainly not seafarers, but many have been farmers.    I have an email ministry reaching almost one thousand individuals.  Thank you again.

5. report from Texas
From: Judy Snyder <yudeit@hotmail.com>
Subject: Re: Feedback, CD Roms, etc

Dear Honorable Mr. Davidi and associates,
We are well.
Our last Brit Am meeting went well and our rally in Crawford had
200 strong. The rally was a co-operation with Women in Green,
the Battalion of Deborah, Brit Am of Texas, American Friends for
A Safe Israel, and other organizations that I cannot recall their
names at this time.
The theme of the rally was to stand for Israel against the
Road Map for a Palestinian state. Crawford, Texas is the
town that is in the location of the President Bush Ranch
where this false Peace Plan was introduced to the Honorable
President Bush by the Saudi Arabian Prince before 9/11.
After my short speach, many people at the rally that I
had never met, came up to me and said that they recieve
your emails and one man says that he has a list that he
sends your emails out to as well. So, I thought you
might enjoy that good report.
We are working with the Americans Friends for A
Safe Israel on another rally on September 21, 2003
again in Dallas, as there will again be rallies around the
world for Israel against the Road Map on that day.
Time is short, we think this is important. It makes
people aware of the issues and it is a good way
to meet people that have the same feelings of
being a part of Israel. We have gained a few more
people for Brit Am this way, I hope that they are
making some kind of contribution to your work.
I have not sent my last newsletter to you because
I have been very busy with the rallies and getting
the children into school again. It is a busy but
rewarding time.
Again I want to say that it was a priviledge to meet
with you and Rabbi Feld and his family. Many people
have asked if I met you and I can proudly say now
that I have.
Kol tov,
Judy L. Snyder

Worth viewing:
Site says:
http://www.ourfatherlutheran.net/biblehomelands/palestine/shiloh.htm

Archaeologists unearthed evidence that a Canaanite settlement with a sacred shrine existed there by 1700 BC and massive fortifications around 1650 /1600-1550 BC, including a steep slope, archaeologically known as glacis, to make a slippery surface (presumably for defense against chariots, the most formidable weapon of the time). Then, sometime not before the 16th century BC, unidentified invaders burned its buildings. They acted so quickly that cult objects were found still in storerooms with mud-brick walls collapsed on top of them. Afterward, there was a lull, then the Israelites occupied the site from about 1150 to 1050 BC. While it might be surprising that they chose a former Canaanite religious site for the Tabernacle, their most sacred shrine, it was no different than early Christians founding churches on pagan sacred sites.

Brit-Am holds that: what the site holds to be "1650 /1600-1550 BC" was actually much later and pertained to the Israelite period. There was no re-use of a previous Canaanite Sanctuary. Apart from that the site is OK.
