Shalom Yair,
I wanted to call your attention to two very good articles. The first was by
radio talk-show host, Dennis Prager, which was published in the Washington
Times recently.
It is entitled "A Jewish view of a newly-dangerous world."
I'll cite its opening paragraph to give you its premise.
"This is the scariest time for Jews since the Holocaust. The Jews are
being abandoned. Again. From the Jews perspective, the world can be divided
into three groups--those that hate the Jews and want them dead, those who
ignore this hatred and aid the haters, and Americans..." His article noted
that America "honors Jews...is Israel's defender...and is the only country
that defines itself as Judeo-Christian." He also notes America's founders
paid considerable attention to Old Testament laws when founding our nation.
Ellie Wiesel had a guest article on the Jerusalem Post website yesterday,
and it should be accessible yet at www.jpost.com. Wiesel wrote this about
American support of Israel: "The Bible communities of the Midwest in
America love Israel so much it is a true blessing." I live in the American
Midwest, and Wiesel speaks the truth. Christian churches of many
denominations "love Israel" and rally to her support in a crisis. If all
out war broke out, I have little doubt that Christians of many
denominations would line up all over the American Midwest to donate both
blood and bullets if Israelis requested them to do so.
Given the moral blindness of European governments at present, I think it is
vital that Israelis realize they are not alone in the world. Despite some
parallels in Europe, the current situation is still very different than the
pre-Holocaust period for the following reasons: A) There is a Jewish
nation to which Jews can readily move. B) There is a powerful Jewish army
and air force that can and will defend Jewish interests, and C) There are
many millions of Americans who make their pro-Israeli views known to their
government and their elected representatives. While the US government is
mostly pro-Israeli, the US Congress (which is more attuned to the people
than the White House) is even more pro-Israeli than the White House and its
Executive Agencies. President Bush is a Republican and, nationwide, the
Republicans are considerably more pro-Israeli than Democrats (polls confirm
this). President's Bush's political base is firmly pro-Israeli, and I'm
sure he's very aware of that fact.

Shalom Yair:
Thank you so much for the informative history on Mr Heyerdahl. I read
both books when in my early 20's and found them entertaining and
interesting. (Aku-Aku and Kon-Tiki).
His theorys however, posed more questions than answers. At least for me
anyway. He must have been quite a colorful character, and certainly not
boring.

Just wanted to comment that Bible Archaeology Review in past had photos of
a cylindrical clay seal for one Baruch, whom they identified as the son of
Neriah. I take that as a proof of the scripture here. At least, a proof of
Barach, who apparently was more than some lowly servant.

    The item below is an excerpt from an article from Craig White's list. It  discusses  the possibility that some Freemasons may have believed in the Lost Tribes Doctrine. I am not a Freemason, my  father refused to become one and I have always kept away from it even though I know very little about it
and have no real opinion on the subject one way or other. I repeat I personally could not become a Mason but have nothing against those who are so. Historically Freemasons have been responsible for both good and bad policies. Nevertheless Freemasonry has been important at least on a social
level in the middle rungs of society of Britain, the Dominions, and America.
    The Freemasons were important in Ulster and a source that I consider reliable informed me that the ceremonies of important Freemason branches in Ulster were created by people who must have believed that they and their fellows were descended from Israelite Tribes. Ulster is important in its own right, it also influences Britain and also since people from Ulster (Scotch-Irish) have been important in North American history.

Apparently some (but only a very small minority) do. Like all Biblical
doctrines, many have acquired them and then put a twist on them. It
appears that the anti-RCC, pro-Protestant faction of some European
ruling classes, brought this idea into the Masonic movement. Prince
Charles told a senior member of the old WCG that he believed that the
British Royalty were descended from David.
Masons such as Prince Michael of Albany (claimant to the Scottish
throne) believe in the 'lost tribes of Israel' and the Scots being
descended from Judah etc. The BI belief of many (but not all Masons) is
similar to, but not identical to, traditional BI belief.
Claimant to the Scottish Throne... Prince Michael of
Albany, head of the Royal House of Stewart has actually written such in
his recent eye-opening work, The Forgotten Monarchy of Scotland:
"Scotland's royal heritage is the oldest in Europe, and it can be traced
back well into the BC era. The legacy of the Scots kings was hewn on the
Stone of Destiny, the venerated relic of the Beth-el Covenant (Genesis
28:18-22) .
". the Royal House of Dalriada, through which all Kings of Scots traced
their succession from the biblical Kings of Judah, from the Princes of
Greater Scythia .
". many regarded the Stewarts as their Biblical kings. Prior to becoming
High Stewards of Scotland, the Stewarts' maternal forebears were
Seneschals in Brittany, and they were of the same ancestral stock as the
earlier Merovingian Kings of the Franks, in descent from the ancient
Royal House of Judah." (Prince Michael, 2000: 12,70,198-99. The Stone of
Destiny is also mentioned on pages 55, 63, 78, 290-92)

Like Prince Michael, many of the kings of England and Scotland have been
anti-Catholic Masons. A minority belief amongst some of these key Masons
has been the belief that they inherited the throne of David which was
transferred to Britain.
Of course, there are Masons and Masons - they are divided into various
competing factions and groups. The US founding fathers were
predominantly deists and Masons linked to anti-RCC protestants.

Answer:
I would be pleased to have you sell my books. As for the boundaries: we believe the Biblical boundaries stretched from the Nile to the Euphrates and included part of present-day southeast Turkey, part of Iraq, Syria, Jordan, and part of Egypt and Saudi Arabia, present day State of Israel and the Isle of Cyprus.
We agree however that there are numerous different opinions on this matter. Our own opinion is based on several sources that we hope to shortly put  together in booklet form and publish in Hebrew and English and as several articles or as an Appendix to a future work of ours.
The sources we use include Biblical passages, the opinions of great Commentators, archaeological and historical evidence. A few major points were mentioned in "The Tribes" and in more
detail in "Lost Israelite Identity".
Both books will hopefully be re-published soon. Biblical Sources include:

The number 17 and the date of Nisan 17th seem to be associated with
redemption throughout the Scriptures.
* Noah's Ark rested upon the mountains of Ararat on the 17th of the seventh
month. (Gen. 8:4) It wasn't until the time of Exodus 12:2 that the
calendar was reorganized, with the seventh month becoming month number one.
Thus, this was Nisan 17th.
* The Israelites crossed the Red Sea, along the Gulf of Suez, after going
"three days into the wilderness." (Ex. 3:18) They left on the evening
beginning Nisan 15th. They camped at Succoth for several hours to rest on
the morning of Nisan 15th. They camped at Etham the next evening, beginning
Nisan 16th. They camped at Pi-ha-hiroth on the evening beginning Nisan
17th. The wind blew all night and parted the sea, and the Israelites passed
through the Red Sea on the day portion of Nisan 17th. (Interestingly
enough, they either crossed or went around the Gulf of Aqaba later on. See
Numbers 33:8 and 10-11. Thus, the real Mount Sinai is NOT in the Egyptian
"Sinai.")
* Haman the Agagite (Agag was the king of the Amalekites, according to 1
Samuel 15:8) was slain and Mordecai raised up in his place on Nisan 17th.
Haman was a type of false messiah, whereas Mordecai was a type of Messiah.
Starting on Nisan 13th, Esther fasted for three days. On Nisan 16th, she
invited both the king and Haman to a banquet, but promised to tell the king
her petition on the next day, which was the 17th. On that day, she told the
king about Haman's plot to kill the Jews, and that she was a Jewess.
So what is the significance of Jeremiah's estate in Anathoth (which is
modern Ramallah today, where Yasser Arafat's headquarters is, from what I
understand)? Why did God focus on that plot of land in particular?
