1. Isaiah: The Return of the Lost Ten Tribes
On our web-site
http://www.britam.org
there is now the possibility of seeing all our commentaries on the Books of Prophecy.
Some of these are worth reviewing.
By "chance" we came across the following entry while searching for something else:
Isaiah 60:1] ARISE, SHINE; FOR THY LIGHT IS COME, AND THE GLORY OF THE LORD
IS RISEN UPON THEE.
This is a very important chapter. It starts off from the point of view of
Judah. The light of God will shine upon Judah and all those associated with her.
[Isaiah 60:2] FOR, BEHOLD, THE DARKNESS SHALL COVER THE EARTH, AND GROSS
DARKNESS THE PEOPLE: BUT THE LORD SHALL ARISE UPON THEE, AND HIS GLORY
SHALL BE SEEN UPON THEE.
<<DARKNESS>>: perhaps intending lack of knowledge, OR the effect of some
global calamity?
[Isaiah 60:3] AND THE GENTILES SHALL COME TO THY LIGHT, AND KINGS TO THE
BRIGHTNESS OF THY RISING.
<<GENTILES>>: in Hebrew <<Goyim>> meaning literally peoples perhaps
Israelites. KINGS can be a general term for national leaders. They will
come for instruction and enlightenment.
[Isaiah 60:4] LIFT UP THINE EYES ROUND ABOUT, AND SEE: ALL THEY GATHER
THEMSELVES TOGETHER, THEY COME TO THEE: THY SONS SHALL COME FROM FAR, AND
THY DAUGHTERS SHALL BE NURSED AT THY SIDE.
Sonsand daughters returning can also refer to Captive Jews and Lost
Israelites.
[Isaiah 60:5] THEN THOU SHALT SEE, AND FLOW TOGETHER, AND THINE HEART
SHALL FEAR, AND BE ENLARGED; BECAUSE THE ABUNDANCE OF THE SEA SHALL BE
CONVERTED UNTO THEE, THE FORCES OF THE GENTILES SHALL COME UNTO THEE.
<<THEN THOU SHALT SEE>>: You will see they who return.
<<AND FLOW TOGETHER>>: in Hebrew from the root nahar which can also be
translated as shine forth.
You will be afraid and overwhelmed at the awesomeness of the events that occur.
THE ABUNDANCE OF THE SEA SHALL BE CONVERTED UNTO THEE: Commentary of Amos
Chacham [Datt Mikra]: <<Numerous people from over the sea will come unto
you. These are the Exiles of Israel who were exiled to the Isles of the Sea
(cf. Isaiah 11;11 Isaiah 43;5-6).>> The verse Amos Chacham refers to
concerns the Lost Ten tribes who were exiled by the Assyrians. In other
words the Lost Ten Tribes who were exiled to the Isles of the Sea (and
other places) will return unto you.
Cf. AND IT SHALL COME TO PASS IN THAT DAY, THAT THE LORD SHALL SET HIS HAND
AGAIN THE SECOND TIME TO RECOVER THE REMNANT OF HIS PEOPLE, WHICH SHALL BE
LEFT, FROM ASSYRIA, AND FROM EGYPT, AND FROM PATHROS, AND FROM CUSH, AND
FROM ELAM, AND FROM SHINAR, AND FROM HAMATH, AND FROM THE ISLANDS OF THE SEA [Isaiah 11:11]
AND HE SHALL SET UP AN ENSIGN FOR THE NATIONS, AND SHALL ASSEMBLE THE
OUTCASTS OF ISRAEL, AND GATHER TOGETHER THE DISPERSED OF JUDAH FROM THE
FOUR CORNERS OF THE EARTH [Isaiah 11:12]
THE ENVY ALSO OF EPHRAIM SHALL DEPART, AND THE ADVERSARIES OF JUDAH SHALL
BE CUT OFF: EPHRAIM SHALL NOT ENVY JUDAH, AND JUDAH SHALL NOT VEX EPHRAIM [Isaiah 11:13]
FEAR NOT: FOR I AM WITH THEE: I WILL BRING THY SEED FROM THE EAST, AND
GATHER THEE FROM THE WEST; [Isaiah 43:5]
I WILL SAY TO THE NORTH, GIVE UP; AND TO THE SOUTH, KEEP NOT BACK: BRING MY
SONS FROM FAR, AND MY DAUGHTERS FROM THE ENDS OF THE EARTH; [Isaiah 43:6].
<<THE FORCES OF THE GENTILES SHALL COME UNTO THEE>>: The word translated as
forces is <<Hail>> and it can also mean might or riches, i.e. the forces
and/or the might and/or the riches of the peoples will come unto you.
Incidentally this word hail (or chayil) can also mean soldier. In spoken
Hebrew the word can mean either soldier or strength. In Old English you
have word hale meaning strength (e.g. the expression: hale and hearty).
This word hale in Old English was also sometimes spelt as hail (like the
Hebrew) and also could be used to mean a warrior or soldier, just like the Hebrew.
<<THE ENDS OF THE EARTH>>: Geographic extremities, a term frequently used
concerning the Lost Ten tribes. Britain, North Europe, Scandinavia, North
America, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, are all literally at the
ends of the earth since the Land of Israel (in Biblical terms) is
considered the center.
2. Question about African Slaves
Question:
From: L P
Subject: Re: Biblical Proofs Nos. 31, 32, 33: Egypt, Africa, and India
Yair,- Yes. 45 probably refers to a future event. In the future Israel will be
engaged in a war also with Ethiopia.
The African slaves from the past had done right nor wrong towards Western
nations. The slaves were innocent individuals who did not know about the
L-rd. They had no chance to have even believe in Him. They were taken away
because they were defenseless, they were torn away from their families,
shipped in terrible conditions, performed hard labor whereas they deserved a
decent treatment. In fact they were kidnapped and exploited.
The Israelites in Mitsrayim weren't kidnapped but were exploited whereas
they had done no wrong. Probably, the spiritual background of this
exploitation was different, but in my opinion the slave trade of innocent
Africans was not exactly what the L-rd had envisioned at all. In fact it
feels very rejectable. I think you already know my opinion from another email.
Sometimes the L-rd seems to refer to past or to future events, as if He were
in the middle of a 'story'. An example of this could be found in Bereyshis.
Gen. 1 In the beginning G-d created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth
was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the
Spirit of G-d was hovering over the waters.
'in the beginning' - one could ask: which beginning? ('when was that?') In
the beginning of all His creative Processes? Or in the beginning of the
continuation of this?
'G-d created the heavens and the earth'. Which heavens did He mean?
Spiritual ones, earthly ones, or maybe both?
'Now' meaning at which possible stage?
Was it after a very first flood, before the of the times if Noah? (after the
appearing of the rainbow. G-d said that He would never be another flood, but
do we possibly have to keep in mind that there may have been more floods?
Has one of these floods left a darkness which was a physical result of
spiritual darkness on the surface of the deep?
Fortunatly the Spirit of G-d was hovering over the waters.
When the Bible says: Egypt is Mine - so who has taken over Egypt, what
events occurred of which we have little or no historical records?
Nations are often influenced by spiritual spheres that are in their area.
This can good or not so good. The personalities of the people that reside in
these nations are affected by the spiritual spheres.
Who knows, for example in Egypt there may have been a real battle between
'good and bad' that only the L-rd really knows about. That could (I don't
say that is a fact, but it seems possible to me)- explain why there was a
mixture of good and bad with the Pharao's of Mitsrayim towards the
Israelites, apart from the fact that persons have characters.
Yes. 45:14 may be on His Mind because He sees events that are still future
for us. That could be the war in which Ethiopia also will engage against
Israel. The result of these events may be written in Yesayah 45:14.
'Simple' Africans were not 'negroes', they were individuals, created in the
image of G-d, and created to know about Him, not as a result of some very
unjust 'punishment' for things that they did not do.
Answer:
In Biblical Proofs Nos. 31, 32, 33: Egypt, Africa, and India we said
>
> 31. Egypt
> Egypt shall be subjected to Israel. The Suez Canal will be under Israelite control
>
> 32. Africa. Israel will rule over a large part of Africa and cause slaves
> from Africa to be carried over in chains to Israelite lands
>
> 33. India. Israel will rule India and benefit from trade with India.
>
> Israel Will Rule Over Egypt, Africa, and India
>
>
Egypt shall be subjected to Israel. Cush (translated as
> Ethiopia but also applicable according to the Aramaic translation and
> related tradition to India and its neighborhood. Black Africa (Seba) will
> be yours.
.........This interpretation fits the message of Scripture. Isaiah begins by speaking
> about Cyrus and then he addresses himself to Israel. He (45:14) predicts
> that whatever passes via (Hebrew yigiatranslated as labor but really
meaning > come unto) Egypt, and the merchandise of Cush (India not Ethiopiaas
> translated in the King James), shall be yours and the tall Sabaean African
> Negroes will pass over unto you in chains. In the end they will acknowledge
> that God is with you. There is no other. Previously, Isaiah (43:3)
> predicted that Cush (India) and Seba (Black Africa) would be subjected to
> Israel. Isaiah (43:3 and 45:14 and the verses around them) predicted that
> the Lost Ten Tribes would rule over India, Egypt and much of Negro Africa.
> The trade with India would be theirs, the recompense arriving (via the Suez
> Canal) at Egypt would be theirs, and they would transport Negroes (many of
> whom were large-bodied) across the seas in chains. The whole passage ends
> on the point that in the Last Days they will return to worship the True
> God. We identify the Lost Ten Tribes headed by Britain and America as

Negro > Slaves in chains were sent by them and others acting on their behalf
across > the Sea to North America and to the West Indies. Isaiah (43:5-6)
said that
> the exiles would be ingathered from the east and west, north, and south,
> and from the ends of the earth. Only the English-speaking nations have
> fulfilled these prophecies as they were written. Only they received the
> Promises.
We are not justifying slavery or the past actions of anybody.
African peoples practiced slavery (and in some cases still do) as did most
of the ancient nations.
They sold members of their own race to others as slaves and in the past
European peoples (including the Celts of Britain) had done the same thing.
Isaiah predicted a certain state of Affairs but was not necessarily
justifying it.
Historically the British and Americans caused a large number of African
slaves to be brought across the seas.
This is what Isaiah predicted the exiled Israelites would do.
They were not the only ones who did this but they were amongst those who did.
Later both Britain and the USA forbade the transportation of slaves and did
what they could to stop it
and in effect they did stop it.
3. Question on the Poles
Question:
>Hi Yair, What information do you have on the polish? My lasty name is ----ski.
>
>Ali
Answer:
We have no definite opinion concerning the Polish.
Craig White ("The Origin of nations") considers the Polish to be
descendants of Elam.
We suspect that the mass of Poles are some combination of descendants of
one of the sons of Shem (or Abraham) along with Canaanites.
Apart from that the Poles on the whole are considered by us to be a
basically non-Israelite people even though
many groups of Israelite descent did pass through Poland and probably did
leave descendants behind them.
There were also Jews who were assimilated amongst the Polish people.
It may be that those Poles who migrated to the West contained a
considerable proportion of descendants of Israel
similar to the case in Germany.
Our impression of the Poles in Poland is that of a negative anti-Israel
constituent on the whole with the possibility
of some exceptionally positive elements emerging from amongst them.
4. Question on "Kings"
JULIA BUSTOS
Subject: Re: [lost-tribes] yair davidiy <britam@netvision.net.il>:
"Brit-Am Now"-310
You seem to dwell mostly on the United Kingdom and Scandinavian
monarchies. At present the following African nations have
monarchies: Lesotho, Swaziland. Middle Easter nations that have
monarchies: Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain; United Arab
Emirates: Sultan of Oman; Asia: Nepal, Thailand, Malaysia, Japan, and
Kingdom of Cambodia; How about Tonga, Samoa, Zair, Monaco and last but not
least Spain.
Even Hawaii had a monarch before we grabbed it.
Julia
To which Mike Duttera replied:
Because the point is NOT that only Israelite nations will still have
Kings at the end. The point is that one would expect at least some
Israelite nations will still have Kings in latter days from consideration
of the mentioned prophecy. So the countries mentioned by Yair do indeed
fit that criteria. He never claimed it as sufficient proof by itself-
such is merely one block in the ediface of proof. The item is just ONE
proof among MANY posted in the series. Do the other countries you
mentioned fulfill most of the other proofs mentioned in the "Biblical
Proofs" series? I think not.
Additional Answer:
We said:
Biblical Proofs no.37: Kings
Nations and Kings would emerge from Abraham (17:6). ...
Kings: Apart from the USA, Finland. France, and Switzerland most nations
that contain significant numbers of Israelites have a hereditary monarch at
their head: Britain, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Denmark, Sweden,
Norway, Holland, Luxembourg all have hereditary kings or queens over
them.
Sarah the wife of Abraham was blessed that she would become a mother of
nations and kings of peoples would come from her (17:16, 21): This means
the monarchs of several nations ruling at one and the same time, such as
the monarchs of Western European countries do now...
[Genesis 17:16] AND I WILL BLESS HER, AND GIVE THEE A SON ALSO OF HER: YEA,
I WILL BLESS HER, AND SHE SHALL BE A MOTHER OF NATIONS; KINGS OF PEOPLE
SHALL BE OF HER.
<<MOTHER OF NATIONS; KINGS OF PEOPLE>>: Several nations; the Hebrew says
Kings of peoples rather than KINGS OF PEOPLE meaning that several kings
over several peoples all existing at the same time and all Israelite. This
ties in with what we said above about monarchies among the Israelite
nations today.
A Further Clarification:
As Mike said the proofs we use are indications that must be taken together
with all the other evidence.
This does not mean that every proof we apply must be exclusively pertinent
tot he peoples we are applying it to.
For example, we are looking for John Smith who has red hair. Maybe 3 men
out of every hundred also have red hair
so if we apply the criteria of red hair alone we are going to get a lot of
other suitable candidates.
The criteria of red hair serves only to narrow the field down and then we
can apply additional criteria.
Concering this specific proof:
<<KINGS OF PEOPLE>> Genesis 17:16 is how it is translated in the King
James BUT the Hebrew says, "Malcei-Amim" meaning literally "KINGS OF
PEOPLES"! We need to find a group of peoples each one of whom has kings
over it.
You mentioned:
"Lesotho, Swaziland.
The Arab nations "Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain; United Arab
Emirates: Sultan of Oman; Asia:"
are not really kings but exalted bandits of very recent origin.
The one genuine Arab monarch is perhaps the King of Morocco who you did not
mention.
The peoples we identified as being of substantial determinative Israelite
origin and having monarchs over them are:
Britain, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Holland,
Luxembourg.
These peoples related to each other and intermixed with each other; they
share a common heritage and cultural values,
and in many respects when compared with other peoples may be considered one
entity.
The have kings of "KINGS OF PEOPLES" with the "PEOPLES" concerned being all
of one grouping.
They are the only recognizable group who fit the said criteria in a literal
sense.
5. Remark on Kings and Descendants of David
From: Jack Flaws <stag@asis.com>
Subject: "Brit-Am Now"-310
I have a 2-cent thought to add. the US Presidents. None of them have been
"kings", and yet, they ALL can trace their lines back into Old World
Royalty, and thence to David.
I mean, why wouldn't Manasseh be ruled by Judah? God said he would. I may
be wrong, but I don't think the strict definition of "king" must come out
of the word "scepter." Neither the phrase, "on the Throne."
Yes. Burke's Peerage has been calling the US election for a long time
based solely of the blood connections of the candidates.
Comment by Yair Davidiy: You have a pouint worth considering but not
necessarily dwelling upon one way or the other.
In Biblical terms "king" can mean leader.
I would even suggest that the Hebrew word "melech" meaning "king" is
derived from the root
"Yelech" to go which becomes "holich" to lead and "molich" meaning "cause
to go, conduct"
which could give rise to "melech" originally meaning "leader" and later
connoting king.
DESPITE THIS, the sages distinguished someone who was born a king and a
self-appointed leader
and ALSO the Bible refers to the "Kings of Edom" as "Aluphim" as leaders
who traditionally were non-hereditary and were distinguished from other
kings who were.
We are dealing here with two proofs:
Biblical Proof no.37: Kings
and
Biblical Proof no.36 :Ruled by Sons of David
Whatever the case for kings in the strict sense of hereditary monarchs in a
literal sense our point holds
and also for rulers descended from David our point holds as well.
Strictly speaking in order for the verse to be fulfilled we can note
several possibilities:
[Jeremiah 33:25] THUS SAITH THE LORD; IF MY COVENANT BE NOT WITH DAY AND
NIGHT, AND IF I HAVE NOT APPOINTED THE ORDINANCES OF HEAVEN AND EARTH;
[Jeremiah 33:26] THEN WILL I CAST AWAY THE SEED OF JACOB AND DAVID MY
SERVANT, SO THAT I WILL NOT TAKE ANY OF HIS SEED TO BE RULERS OVER THE SEED
OF ABRAHAM, ISAAC, AND JACOB: FOR I WILL CAUSE THEIR CAPTIVITY TO RETURN,
AND HAVE MERCY ON THEM.
a. You could say (as we mentioned) that the verse could be fulfilled by a
descendant of David being available to rule over Israel when <<I WILL
CAUSE THEIR CAPTIVITY TO RETURN>>.
b. This verse and other verses however do hint that even before the return
of their captivity they will be ruled by the seed of David.
c. It would be enough to fulfil the promise in the verse if only a portion
of the exiled Israelites were ruled by the seed of David.
