2. The Need of Judah for Ephraim, once again
Brit-Am supporter Chris Josephson intends to publish the following extract
from "Brit-Am Now"-344
in the publication "Bible Light on the News". I thought the extracted
portions were a good choice.
The Need of Judah for Ephraim
Highlights from the Brit-Am Commentary on Ezekiel

Therefore say, thus saith the Lord God, I will even gather you from the
people, and assemble y9ou out of the countries where ye have been
scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel(Ezekiel 11:17).
Ezekiel (11:18) hints that first the exiles will return to the Land of
Israel and after that they shall put away their idols and keep the Law
(11:20). Ezekiel says that Judah has an obligation to help the Lost Ten
Tribes return. The complete return of Judah is dependent upon the return of
Samaria (16:53, 55, 61) meaning the Ten Tribes especially Manasseh.
Manasseh today is mainly the USA. God will renew His covenant with Judah
and with Israel (16:62).
Eisemann[1] understands this & to be referring to all of Israel, including
the Lost Ten Tribes.
Malbim: In the future God will ingather the Ten Tribes who were in faraway
lands and did not return in the time of the Second Temple.
Ramban (Nachmanides) holds the same view we have been quoting that the
prophecies are understandable on two levels:
1. The message potentially could have been fulfilled partly in the very
time of Ezekiel if the people would have repented; and
2. The complete fulfillment of the Prophecy of reconciliation will only
happen in the time of the Messiah.
And they shall come thither, and they shall take away all the detestable
things thereof and all the abominations thereof from thence(Ezekiel 11:18).
The exiles (from the Ten Tribes) will remove their idols and cease their
paganism in their places of exile. OR ELSE: They shall first come back to
the land and then they shall cast aside their idols?
When I shall bring again their captivity, the captivity of Sodom and her
daughters, and the captivity of Samaria and her daughters. Then will I
bring again the captivity of thy captives in the midst of them(Ezekiel
16:53).
Moshkovitz (Daat Mikra) suggests that this refers to the revival of the
Land of Canaan.
Sodom was overturned and all the area around destroyed. So too, after the
Roman conquest and the Arab and Turkish occupation, most of the Land was
turned into a wasteland without trees or greenery. The British and the Jews
restored it in part. The State of Israel is continuing to do so but not as
much nor as well as it should be. We have also been responsible for
ecological abuses that should be corrected. There is much that could and
should be done.
Malbim says here that at the return Samaria and Sodom (?) will be the most
important section of the Israelite nation whereas Judah will be pulled
after them and returned through them. He repeats this message in
[Ezekiel]16:55. The Lost Ten Tribes will return. Manasseh will return. The
exiles of Judah who remained in exile will return together with the Lost
Ten Tribes.
Abarbanel (1435-1509): The Ten Tribes will return to Samaria and its
daughter-regions and so will the scattered dispersion of Judah be gathered
in from the four corners of the earth.
When thy sisters, Sodom and her daughters, shall return to their former
estate, and Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former estate,
then thou and thy daughters shall return to your former estate(Ezekiel
16:55). Until now they are still overturned and have not returned unto
their former state.
This is a message for Judah:
In order for Judah to realize herself and to bring back all her exiles and
rehabilitate herself, Judah must also seek the Lost Ten Tribes and cause
them to return! This is important to Judah for her own sake! It is also
hinting that rehabilitation of the Land itself is somehow connected with
the return of the Lost Ten Tribes. See our Commentary on Isaiah 56:8 and
Hosea chapter six, where we have explained that according to prophecy, part
of Judah would return to the Land and begin to build it up. Then the Lost
Ten Tribes would return in two stages together with the remnant of Judah.
The first part of this process is well on its way. . .
Abarbanel: There is no doubt that this promised ingathering will occur in
the Times of the Messiah. Until now it has never been fulfilled.
Then thou shalt remember thy ways, and be ashamed, when thou shalt receive
thy sisters, thine elder and thy younger: and I will give them unto thee
for daughters, but not by thy covenant (Ezekiel 16:61).
Judah must seek to bring the Lost Ten Tribes back. God makes the
participation of Judah in the process of returning the Lost Ten Tribes a
prior condition for the rehabilitation of Judah herself!
I will give them unto thee for daughters;Judah will have some degree of
directional task to play in helping the Ten Tribes return and showing them
the way in which they should go. Judah however is also obligated to get his
own act together or else (God forbid) be punished. But not by thy covenant:
The Lost Ten Tribes will not necessarily have to convert to Judaism in our
sense of the word though they will renew the covenant between Israel and
the Almighty and Judah is obligated to assist them.
And I will establish my covenant with thee; and thou shalt know that I am
the Lord (Ezekiel 16:62). God will once again accept Judah and all Israel.
Report and Ongoing Needs
Despite everything the Brit-Am message in one way or other may well have
reached more than a hundred ( hundreds?) of thousands of people. Also the
quality of the people responding as far as we can judge is something to be
very pleased with.

Originally there were twelve tribes of Israel. Ten of these Tribes
disappeared. The Jews of today are mainly descended from the Tribes of
Judah, Benjamin, and Levi. The other Ten Tribes according to the Bible in
the last days were to be found mainly amongst peoples of West European
descent . . . This is what the Bible says in accordance with the original
Hebrew text and Rabbinical explanations. . .
They were to be a civilizing influence in the world, and extremely
numerous. They were also to be largely unaware of their Israelite identity.
. . We have the information that can confirm this identity, and more is
available as revealed by ongoing researches we are conducting. . .
The Bible shows that: The existence of Israel fulfills the purpose of
creation. The good of Israel is the good of the world. There are two
halves of Israel represented by "Judah" and "Joseph". Both halves have
their own uniqueness and their own role. Ultimately Judah and Joseph must
re-unite with each other. Each side is incomplete without the other and
cannot fulfill their task without the other.
The aims of Brit-Am are to encourage: (1) The spread of Identity
Awareness. (2) Increased Identity research and clarification. (3)
Association of members together for the sake of mutual-empowerment,
learning and fellowship.

Reply: a. We met Norman Willis in Jerusalem. In the past we had endured a
serious anti-Semitic libel at his hands but he kind of
apologized and we more or less made "peace". In the past he had previously
already pretended to apologize and then returned and repeated the
falsehoods so we are not sure how he will act in the future this time.
Apart from that we know of him by hearsay and by reports on the web.
Moshe Koniusky (?) publicly corresponded with him and at one time related
to him as an emissary of his organization but they parted ways.
Dell Griffin also spoke of him as being an emissary of his own (actually
to have both Kony and Dell thinking one represents each one of them
at the very same time is quite a feat). Anyway he met up with the contacts
of Dell Griffin and these are the rabbis we says he is meeting with. As for
the return of "Joes": Nothing doing. The people concerned may be prepared
to talk but ideologically they are against the whole affair.
We had a joint meting with Dell and all his people while Dell was in
Jerusalem and his contacts spoke at the meeting. They were entirely against
any recognition of "Joes" or any type of return without complete conversion.
Relations between Norman and Dell (according to Dell) have also cooled off somewhat.
I have said more than enough for now. If you want any more information
correspond with the people directly and judge for yourself.
b. Amishav is interested in people from Asia, or a village of natives from
Peru who adopt Judaism, or in some cases descendants of "Conversos" from Spain and Portugal.
They are not interested in people from the West. They are not interested
in Biblical proofs but rather in mostly non-Europeans
who may be prepared to convert to Judaism.
They appear to be very well-organized, have excellent and numerous
connections, and appear to be extremely well-funded.
Their ideas might be a bit "crazy" but at least those who agree with them back them well.
That is the way things are according to our experiences and information.
There is nobody else out there at the moment.
For better or for worse true Israelites from the Lost Ten Tribes are represented by Brit-Am.
4. Ephraim Frank and an Ephraimite Center
Ephraim Frank wishes to establish an Ephraimite Center in Israel not as
part of Brit-Am but alongside it and in co-ordination with it.

<<Over the past hundred years and more we have witnessed the restoration of
the first stick or tree of Judah. Nowadays Judah is, of course, a
recognized national entity amongst the other nations of the
world. Naturally Israel State laws define the Jewish identity. Those who
qualify have the rights to return to the Jewish State, but what about the
second stick, or nation, of Joseph in the hand of Ephraim? Most of you are
already aware of this phenomenon which is taking place out in the nations;
that is, of Gentiles (mostly Christians) who suddenly or gradually discover
that they could very well be the natural descendants of the lost tribes of
Israel. There are many different testimonies as to how each has come to
this awareness.
<<It is therefore imperative that we define the Ephraimite national entity.
<<Knowing that by His Spirit, YKVK is taking all of us in the direction of
nationhood, some of us here in Israel have been meeting and discussing this
issue amongst ourselves, and also with the Brit Am organization. Brit Am
(covenant of the people) is made up of members of both houses, and is one
of Judahs educational arms in studying and researching the whereabouts of
the ten lost tribes. Yair Davidi (who is an orthodox Jew and the main
researcher and writer) and Rabbi Feld (who is a representative for other
rabbis who support this research) have sat with us and are in agreement
that the Ephraimites of the lost tribes must begin to develop a framework
for this Ephraimite national entity. Brit Am shares our present views and
has now turned their attention to educating the Jewish nation by
translating Yairs works into Hebrew...
<<We feel that the establishment of an Ephraimite national center here in
Jerusalem will help facilitate the recognition by Judah of the
second-stick, even though primarily out in the nations, and would give
flesh to the Ephraimite bones and more credence to what Yair and others
(especially in the Ephraimite camp) have proven through their research.
<<Today, our brother Judah is threatened by the increase of the Arab
population in and around the Land of Israel, a growth which poses a threat
to the demographic balance in the Land. There are some Israelis who feel
that if indeed the lost tribes are found, it could be the answer to some of
our critical problems in the Land.
<<In coordination with Brit Am and rabbis who agree with Yairs findings,
we, the Ephraimites and also sojourners living in Israel, wish to work
together to establish an Ephraimite educational and information center in
Jerusalem, and would like to reach out to as many as would want to join us
in this endeavor. The details will still have to be worked out.
<<"As for you, son of man, take a stick for yourself and write on it: 'For
Judah and for the children of Israel, his companions.' Then take another
stick and write on it, 'For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the
house of Israel, his companions.' "Then join them one
5. The Need for Unification
Remember
The Bible says that most of the ancient Israelites were to be lost (Isaiah
24:3, 49:21 Hosea 1:9. Jeremiah 3:6-7) and forget their identity. Towards
the End Times they were to return and re-unite with Judah (Isaiah 11:12-13
Ezekiel 37) . There will be no complete Redemption for Judah without the
return of the Ten Tribes (Ezekiel 16:53.55.61). Judah will be obligated to
go unto the Ten Tribes and bring them back (Jeremiah 3:18 31:8). The Ten
Tribes are also called upon to seek their God and their ancestry and affirm
it as part of the process of returning (Jeremiah 31:9-10, 21). Proof is
important and spreading knowledge of the proof is almost as important as
the proof itself.
