3. Question on Kabbalistic Sources.
we said (in reply to a question on the issue):
<<In general I am not familiar with the [Kabbalistic] works in question.
We quoted the Zohar as saying that a red and white rose identical to (or
almost identical)
to the Tudor Rose symbol of Britain is a symbol of Israel.
Also the Zohar confirms our understanding that Isaiah chapters 11 and 49
are referring to the Lost Ten Tribes.
Our understanding that the Messiah son of Joseph represents the Lost Ten Tribes
(as well as a future individual) and other comprehensions of ours is also
in accordance with the
said literature AS WELL AS WITH THE BIBLE.
Our approach in general is to understand what the Bible says on a literal basis
and after that to con firm or expand our understanding from later
traditions that in themselves
were also derived from the Bible.
Yair
I would like to add to the above:
a. This is not my field and even if it was I would not wish to discuss it.
b. One source (Rabbi Chaim Luzzato, Ma-amar HaGeulah) has been quoted
as linking the Messiah son of Joseph
to the two tribes of Joseph and the Messiah son of David to the Ten Tribes.
This however is the exact
opposite deduction of all other sources and I do not know yet on what it is
based.
c. Joseph represents the Penultimate Sphere of Yisod (Foundation) in which
everything comes together.
In this sphere sexual morality is very important and necessary to express
itself.
Yisod represents riches and power but cannot fulfill its potential unless
it is directly linked to the next sphere, Malcut (Royalty).
The whole purpose of its being is to connect with Malcut.
Judah represents the final sphere of Malcut (Kingdom) which is the
messianic level of potential human perfection.
Malcut can do nothing unless it is connected with Yisod. It is
dysfunctional unless without a link to Yisod.
To sum up unless Judah and Joseph are re-united the whole world is
disrupted and all of creation suffers on every level
of existence.
That is about all I know for now but it should be enough.
2. The Duties of Non-Israelites or non-Identifiers

Answer:
Shalom,
I am not a religious leader but rather a researcher who specializes in the
Lost Ten Tribes. This does however
involve Biblical and related studies and so leads to religious questions.
A person is not an animal to exist for no purpose other than existing.
God Almighty created man to do good which includes
believing in God and obeying Him. There is good and evil. The Creator
revealed Himself in the Bible as the God of Israel
and for reasons of his own makes his will manifest through Israel.
You may be a descendant of Israelites or Jews who should return to your people
or you may be of Gentile descent who should attach himself to Israel
or you may be of Gentile descent and should stay as you are and do the best
you can as you are.
Believe in God, study the Bible, pray and seek the answer and you will be
answered.
We are all individuals and there is no all-encompassing solution for
everybody rather
we must each find their own path.
The following quotations consider the following three categories:
(a) Descendants of captives who were brought into Israel.
(b) Descendants of strangers who attached themselves to us.
(c) Descendants of Israel who were lost amongst the nations.
(a) Descendants of captive we brought into us.
Isaiah 45;14 says that they who were brought from Africa in chains to
Israelite nations will find their place
with Israel and the God of Israel.
"THUS SAYS THE LORD, THE LABOR OF EGYPT, AND MERCHANDISE OF ETHIOPIA [in
Hebrew: "CUSH"], AND OF THE SABAEANS, MEN OF STATURE, SHALL COME OVER UNTO
YOU, AND THEY SHALL BE YOURS: THEY SHALL COME AFTER YOU; IN CHAINS THEY
SHALL COME OVER, AND THEY SHALL FALL DOWN UNTO YOU, THEY SHALL MAKE
SUPPLICATION UNTO YOU, SAYING, SURELY GOD IS IN YOU; AND THERE IS NO ELSE,
THERE IS NO OTHER GOD" (Isaiah 45;14).
(b) Descendants of strangers who attached themselves to us.
The stranger who sojourns with us and identifies with us will have the same
rights as us (Ezekiel 47:22). He also has the same responsibilities (14:7-8).
[Ezekiel 47:22] AND IT SHALL COME TO PASS, THAT YE SHALL DIVIDE IT BY LOT
FOR AN INHERITANCE UNTO YOU, AND TO THE STRANGERS THAT SOJOURN AMONG YOU,
WHICH SHALL BEGET CHILDREN AMONG YOU: AND THEY SHALL BE UNTO YOU AS BORN IN
THE COUNTRY AMONG THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL; THEY SHALL HAVE INHERITANCE WITH
YOU AMONG THE TRIBES OF ISRAEL.
Non-Israelites who have settled amongst us, identified with us and shared
our trials and tribulations alongside us will be considered as the same as
us. They will be part of whatsoever Tribe of Israel they have dwelt
amongst.
[Ezekiel 14:7] FOR EVERY ONE OF THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL, OR OF THE STRANGER
THAT SOJOURNETH IN ISRAEL, WHICH SEPARATETH HIMSELF FROM ME, AND SETTETH UP
HIS IDOLS IN HIS HEART, AND PUTTETH THE STUMBLINGBLOCK OF HIS INIQUITY
BEFORE HIS FACE, AND COMETH TO A PROPHET TO ENQUIRE OF HIM CONCERNING ME;
I THE LORD WILL ANSWER HIM BY MYSELF:
<<FOR EVERY ONE OF THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL, OR OF THE STRANGER THAT SOJOURNETH
IN ISRAEL, WHICH SEPARATETH HIMSELF FROM ME>>: The stranger who sojourns
with us and identifies with us will have the same rights as us {Ezekiel
47:22]. He also has the same responsibilities.
From the negative we can learn the positive. There is not difference
between the stanger who sojourn with us and casts his lot with us and we
ourselves.
[Ezekiel 14:8] AND I WILL SET MY FACE AGAINST THAT MAN, AND WILL MAKE HIM A
SIGN AND A PROVERB, AND I WILL CUT HIM OFF FROM THE MIDST OF MY PEOPLE; AND
YE SHALL KNOW THAT I AM THE LORD.
Membership of the Israelite nation should be considered the most important
thing we could have. From the above verse and other verses it sounds as if
this membership can be lost, i.e. we can be cut off from our ancestry. We
should do everything we can to avoid such a fate and be as good as we
can.
(c) Descendants of Israel who were lost amongst the nations.
[Amos 9:9] FOR, LO, I WILL COMMAND, AND I WILL SIFT THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL
AMONG ALL NATIONS, LIKE AS CORN IS SIFTED IN A SIEVE, YET SHALL NOT THE
LEAST GRAIN FALL UPON THE EARTH.
The dispersed of Israel and the exiled will always stay together or if
not will somehow intermarry with each other or if not their children (even
from mixed marriages) will still be counted as Israel.
3. Brit-Am Needs You
Brit-Am is functioning well on the whole and may be on the verge of serious
improvements for the better.
At the same time we need money to keep going.
New Computer Needed
Also we need to change computers.
We function through our computer. It is a work tool.
We communicate with people through our computer
and receive much of our research information through this medium.
1000s of message are sent out and received on a weekly and even almost
daily basis.
Our publications are prepared on our computer.
We have been using a PC clone Pentium-4 that was quite expensive when we
purchased it a few years ago and on the whole has functioned well within limitations. It
is now frequently causing problems, frequently crashes and refuses to re-start and could fold
up altogether quite soon.
It could possibly (but not certainly) be temporarily partially fixed up
(for the -nth time) but should be relegated rightfully to a
"reserve-forces" status and replaced.
In the past one of our subscribers suggested that we move over to Apple
since Mackintosh
computers are more mechanically reliable, much less virus prone, and have
other advantages.
They are also expensive but would be considered if the possibility existed.
[If anyone has any opinions or advice on this subject please write].
At all events the expense of a new computer is one that has to be faced
alongside similar needs that have to be met, including day to day operations.
We recently sent out an appeal to the list for funds. We also sent out
personal appeals to a few of those who had helped us in the past. So far the response has not
been encouraging. This could be one of those periods when money is tight for everybody.
Alternately the importance of Brit-Am may be less appreciated or our not uncommon appeals may have
simply exhausted the good will we had.
Those people who belong to this list are very special and more often than not
are favored by the Almighty in their personal characteristics and life-styles.
You are asked to do what you can to help Brit-Am.
