Two concepts are being confused here:  community membership and tribal
affiliation.  Since SINAI, Judaism is both maternal and paternal.  The
mother determines membership in the community.  The father determines
membership in the tribe within the community.  In other words, for a
tribal
affiliation to make any sense, a person must be a member of the
community.
If one's mother is Jewish, then that person is a member of the Jewish
community.  Once a member of the community, what one inherits is
determined
by the father and his tribe.  A very beautiful system.

While I do not think you misunderstood my statement about Jewish women
being
raped, to be sure, I want to say that it was not meant to be derogatory
in
any way.
To accept such children is a mercy motivated decision that I fully
applaud.
Neither do I think, nor even mean to imply, that Jewish people largely
descend from such travesties.
I now see that I should have been more explicit in my email, plus I
should
have included that the decision was based on Ezra's injunction to "put
away
foreign wives" (Ezra 10).
The point I wanted to have addressed was the idea of Israelites being
"half
and half."
In Scripture, heritage appears to be based on the fathers, and it
therefore
comes to us in an "unbroken line."
That was my intent, and I would not want anyone to think that I meant
to
demean the Jewish people in any way.

4. Born of a Jewish Mother
Someone born of a Jewish mother is Jewish.
This applies ONLY TO Judah since Judah is bound by the Law and other
Israelites
at present are not.
When the Lost Israelites return according to the Abarbanel they will
bring
with them
their non-Israelite wives and children. It will not be as it was in the
time of Ezra when
those Jews who had married foreign women were required to send their
wives
and children
away since these were not Jewish.

At all events the question has been asked or implied several times as
to
what this Jewish law is
based upon.
I am not really an authority to which such questions should be directed
but for many people there is no-one else around at the moment.
By way of answer we may say that the interpretation of the Law was
given
with the Law.
The way the Law had to be put into practice must have been explained
when
it was given.
This aspect of the Torah is known as the Oral Law. A brief explanation
of
the Oral Law is given in our book
"Ephraim". Also a substantial Appendix on the subject by Rabbi Avraham
Feld
is contained in]
our work "Joseph". This Appendix is now being expanded and improved and
shortly may become
a book in its own right.
Biblically:
Concerning the Gentiles Heathen Nations the Israelites would come in
contact with when they conquered the Land of Israel, they were
commanded:

[Deuteronomy 7:3] NEITHER SHALT THOU MAKE MARRIAGES WITH THEM; THY
DAUGHTER
THOU SHALT NOT GIVE UNTO HIS SON, NOR HIS DAUGHTER SHALT THOU TAKE UNTO
THY
SON.
[Deuteronomy 7:4] FOR THEY WILL TURN AWAY THY SON FROM FOLLOWING ME,
THAT
THEY MAY SERVE OTHER GODS: SO WILL THE ANGER OF THE LORD BE KINDLED
AGAINST
YOU, AND DESTROY THEE SUDDENLY.
<<THEY WILL TURN>>: Hebrew "YaSIR" meaning HE WILL TURN in the
singular,
i.e. "FOR HE WILL TURN AWAY THY SON".
<<THY SON>>: In this case refers to your physical grandson, as
explained below.
The verse says:
(a) Not to give your daughter to his son.
(b) Not to take his son for your daughter.
If you transgress the result will be that:
(c) Your son will be turned away (by him) from following God.
Let us call the son of the pagan "X".
The Grammatical construct in the Hebrew can be understood to say:
<<Your daughter you shall not give to "X". You shall not take his
daughter
[the sister of "X"] for your son. [Deuteronomy 7:3] For "X" will cause
your
son to turn away from me [Deuteronomy 7:4]."
Who is "your son" that "X" will cause to turn away?
Answer: The son of your daughter that you have given to "X" and who "X"
has
begotten.>>
The son of your daughter by a Gentile is called "your son".

You may say that the above explanation does not fit with the plain
sense of
the verses that could be read as saying: "Do not give your daughter to
his
son and do noit take his daughter for your son. For your son [who has
married his daughter] will be turned away". This explanation however
does
not fit the plain sense of the LITERAL Hebrew and does not fit the
Grammar.
THE ONLY EXPLANATION THAT DOES FIT THE LINGUISTIC REQUIREMENTS is that
of
the Oral Tradition.
Subsequently we find that when Ezra returned from Babylon there were
Jews
who had married non-Israelite women and borne children from them. Ezra
required that the women and their children be sent away.
This may seem harsh but it is what Ezra (who had the status of a
Prophet)
required and it is what was done. A philosophical discussion on the
morality of Scripture should be conducted elsewhere.

[Ezra 10:3] NOW THEREFORE LET US MAKE A COVENANT WITH OUR GOD TO PUT
AWAY
ALL THE WIVES, AND SUCH AS ARE BORN OF THEM, ACCORDING TO THE COUNSEL
OF MY
LORD, AND OF THOSE THAT TREMBLE AT THE COMMANDMENT OF OUR GOD; AND LET
IT
BE DONE ACCORDING TO THE LAW.
Actually it is not clear that this injunction was fully carried out.
Some
other solution may have been found for better or for worse.
There are other points that expand upon and add depth to the above
explanation.

7. Answer to DNA Objection

Answer:
Very interesting article. I will read it shortly.
 From a cursory glance
it reverts to the same claims that do not stand up
if the following points are considered:

a) The article admits that scientifically the haplogroup in question is
to
be traced from the West (in this case) to the Near East
i.e. to the approximate neighborhood of Ancient Israel.

b) The article assumes that this origin of the haplogroup mutated from
a
parent body in the Near East
a fantastically long time ago. There is however no proof as to how long
it
actually did take
and hypothetically at least the changes could have occurred over a
relatively short period.

c) It is assumed that every change took place within ONE single
individual  and then spread to HIS
descendants over time BUT the possibility needs to be considered that
the
changes were experienced
by many individuals who were all in the same place at the same time.
It is admitted that such a phenomenon takes place in the human bodies
of
several people in one area once the persons concerned  have died,
i.e. all of them (or a great proportion of them) may experience the
same
changes causing a mutation in the DNA.
The theory is that during the lifetimes of the people concerned a
defence
mechanism protects the bodies against
mutational influences. It is however admitted that mutational changes
can
on occasion take place in a living organism.
In fact the whole DNA genealogy theory is based on such mutations
taking place.
Exactly why such mutations can take place in many people after death
but in
only one person while living
has not been explained and in fact cannot be.
In other words what seems like a serious objection to Brit-Am beliefs
upon
closer examination may well strengthen them.

Spreading the Brit-Am message is our task.
