1. Question and Answer Regarding the
Irish and Scottish Highlanders
Subject: A Question:
Mr. Davidy:
Subject: A Question: Mr. Davidy: The
Milesian Legends play a very large
part in the genre of those who believe
British Isreal historiography. A
very large part! with Jeremiah supposedly
bringing the Stone of Scone
(Destiny - the Lia Fail.- Jacob's pillow)
to Ireland at Tara , with a later
Irishman, St. Columba bringing it to
Scotland. The problem however is the
Irish (and the Highland Scots for that
matter) were persecuted beyond
measure. They never shared in the supposed
prosperity promised to Israel's
Lost Tribes. Ireland's population was
halved by the famine, in large part a
result of British land practices and
oppression. The Highlanders were all
but driven out of Scotland, the nation
they formed, and were reduced to
about 50,000 in the 1850s by British
records. The Infamous Highland
Clearances. The present day Scot is
most likely a Lowlander with mostly
Danish, Norman and Saxon blood in him.
And very little Gaelic Scot in him
at all, if any. The Gaelic Highlander
of Northern Scotland was hated by the
Lowlander and persecuted as much as
any Irishman was. In fact the
Highlander was called the "wild Irish."
During the wars up there it was
often a Gaelic Alliance (the Irish
and Highlanders) versus the Anglo
speakers (the English and Lowlanders
who spoke a dialect of English called
Scots English - not to be confused
with Scots Gaelic which the Highlander
spoke).A studious read will show the
Irish hiring Highland Galloglas in
their wars with the Enlgish and the
Highlanders hiring Irish troops in the
Scottish Civil War to throw the English
out. The Lowlanders were
pro-English. Now, if the Celts are
the lost Tribes, with promises given to
them by God then why are Scotland and
Wales still under subjugation to the
English (essentially Germanics, not
Celts)? and why is Ulster still under
British rule? In other words " Why
did the Gaels fare so badly?" If the
Celts are the Lost Tribes shouldn't
the capital of the world be Aberdeen or
Dublin, NOT London or Washington? This
is no minor flaw. The Lost Tribes
theory usually is of this form . Jeremiah
brought the royal Judah line to
Ireland therefore the British are the
Lost Tribes. This must be a shock to
the Irish, WHO DO NOT CONSIDER THEMSELVES
BRITISH. This is a major flaw at
the root of it. Finally, the Irish
records available on line from Ireland,
show that the Milesian Legends claim
a descent from Japheth NOT Shem.
Again, not a minor problem. Sincerely:
An American of Irish ancestry.
Answers from Brit-Am:
You brought up a number of questions
and quandaries:
a. "The problem however is the Irish
(and the Highland Scots for that
matter) were persecuted beyond measure.
They never shared in the supposed
prosperity promised to Israel's Lost
Tribes."
Answer: Not exact. Ireland through
much of its history was not necessarily
less well off than England apart from
exceptional periods that had the
effect of causing the Irish to migrate
to Britain, America, Australia, etc
where they contributed to and did share
in the prosperity of those places.
"Ireland's population was halved by
the famine": Disasters struck
everybody. We consider things from
a historical perspective over large
stretches of time. This is no comfort
to those who suffered but it does say
something. Even the Jews who were persecuted
and degraded all the time by
everybody nearly everywhere they went
were nevertheless better off than
other peoples.
MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL: The gist of
the blessings was that they would begin
to reveal themselves towards the END
of TIMES:
<<AND JACOB CALLED UNTO HIS SONS,
AND SAID, GATHER YOURSELVES TOGETHER,
THAT I MAY TELL YOU THAT WHICH SHALL
BEFALL YOU IN THE LAST DAYS>> [Genesis
49:1].
b. Highlanders versus Lowlanders:
Answer: Not exact. Amongst the Highlanders
there were divisions concerning
religion: Catholicism versus Presbyterianism.
c. Now, if the Celts are the lost Tribes,
with promises given to them by
God then why are Scotland and Wales
still under subjugation to the English
(essentially Germanics, not Celts)?
Answer: My understanding is that most
Scotsmen and Welsh would prefer it
that way. Only through union with England
were they able to express
themselves and become part of something
they believed in and had MORE than
their relative share in creating and
enjoying. Many Irish in Britain and in
the British Armed Forces felt the same
way. Brit-Am studies would not agree
with the definition of the English
as "Germanics".
d. Why is Ulster still under British
rule?
Answer: Why not? I could loose supporters
through saying this but my
PRIVATE opinion is that not only Ulster
should remain British but the whole
of Ireland should be subservient (at
least in foreign and defence policies)
to Britain.
Perspective: Before the Second World
War southern Ireland was still under
British Rule but there was an Irish
underground movement led by de Valera.
Rabbi Herzog in Ireland was for Irish
independence and once saved the life
of de Valera who was his friend. Then
came Irish independence and after
that the Second World War. Thousands
of Irishmen crossed the sea and joined
the British forces. Ireland itself
however was pro-Nazi. Rabbi Herzog
begged de Valera to accept Jewish refugees
and in the end de Valera allowed
seven (sic. only 7 but even for that
we should be thankful!) Jewish
dentists (of which there was a shortage)
to enter the country. On the other
hand Britain accepted 40,000 Jewish
refugees into Britain, assisted another
40,000 to get to America, and about
another 40,000 to find refuge in other
parts of the world, and fought the
war and in some way it was partly by
virtue of Britain that every Jews who
was saved survived. There was ALSO a
lot of anti-Semitism amongst the British
and THEY COULD HAVE AND SHOULD
HAVE DONE MORE.
In my book "The Tribes" I wrote at
length on this issue and I did not hide
the existence of anti-Semitism amongst
the British. On the contrary I
discussed and emphasized it. But we
also have to take things into perspective.
e. If the Celts are the Lost Tribes
shouldn't the capital of the world be
Aberdeen or Dublin, NOT London or Washington?
Answer: The Lost Ten tribes are in
the west but out of the Lost Ten Tribes
the head tribe is Joseph through whom
the blessings and essence of Jacob
have to find their fullest expression.
f. Jeremiah brought the royal Judah
line to Ireland therefore the British
are the Lost Tribes. This must be a
shock to the Irish, WHO DO NOT CONSIDER
THEMSELVES BRITISH.
Answer: First of all the idea that
Jeremiah came westward is not our idea.
It is not a Brit-Am belief. We are
skeptical on this point. Secondly the
Scots from Ireland moved to Scotland.
People move around. We identify the
southern Irish primarily with the Tribes
of Simeon and Dan and other
non-Israelite elements. At one stage
there were also many from Joseph but
they mostly moved out.
g. The Irish records available on line
from Ireland, show that the Milesian
Legends claim a descent from Japheth
NOT Shem.
Answer: True in part. Maybe not all
the southern Irish are from Israel but
only part of them. Irish records were
written down in accordance with
prevailing Church doctrine and conventional
understanding at the time. We
have however discussed Irish traditions
in our book, "Lost Israelite
Identity. The Hebrew Ancestry of Celtic
Races" by Yair Davidy, Jerusalem,
1996 and in the series "Various Traditions"
we posted on our brit-am e-mail
discussion list and that can still
be viewed on our web site. The
upshot is that Irish Chronicles go
OUT OF THEIR WAY to allow the
possibility that at least part of their
ancestors derive from Israel.

3. Sukkot
From: Johnstembridge1@a...
Subject: Re: "Brit-Am Now"-71
Shalom Yair,
Thanks for your emails. I too questioned
your previous writers assumption
that our Thanksgiving was similar to
Israel's Yom Kippur. How can a feast as
Thanksgiving coincide with a time of
fasting and repentance?
Certainly our Thanksgiving more aptly
matches Israel's Sukkot. A time of
ingathering and thankfulness.
Thanks for your emails.

4. Early Massachusetts and Connecticut
From: Sally
Subject: correction to early posting
In a recent posting ( Early USA and
Israel ) I inadvertently left a section
unfinished. The complete quote follows:
The legal codes of colonial Massachusetts
and Connecticut were based
explicitly on
the legal framework of the Five Books
of Moses. Sir William Bradford,
second governor of the Plymouth colony,
observing that Hebrew was the
Lord's own language, introduced his
History of the Plymouth Plantation with
passages in Hebrew.

5. Edom = Turkey?
From: Dennis McGinlay
Subject: Re: "Brit-Am Now"-72
Dear Yair
I had understood from previous teaching
that Edom was the forefather of the
Turks. 'red and hairy'. If this IS
so, would go a long way to explain the
long coveted and eventual occupation
of Jerusalem and 'Palastine' by that
people. 'A throwing off of the yolk?'
Please comment
Answer: Maybe. The Turks have lived
by the sword like Esau. They once had a
powerful Empire
and important kingdoms in Central Asia
etc. They are reputedly the most
hairy people in the world.
Some are reddish though most are not.
Even so, something does not come together.
More points are needed to make such
an identification stick.
Edom suits the Germans better: A tradition,
ancestral names, twin brother
of Jacob (like him yet different),
insatiable war-lust, ruler of other
peoples, inherent "superior" qualities
that make him think HE should have
the
birthright, etc. Isaac initially preferred
Esau over Jacob. It was not for
nothing.
