The name "Eliphaz" means God is strong. Eliphaz by some of the Sages is identified with Eliphaz the Temenite the companion of Job (Job 2:11). Eliphaz according to tradition was at first an evil person but repented and became saintly. He was considered one of the seven prophets that emerged from non-Israelite Gentile populations (Baba Kama 15;b). Eliphaz represents a portion of Edom that will repent in the End Times.
The name REUEL means "Friend of God" or alternately "God is My Shepherd".

Dear Yair,
Firstly I feel I need to encourage you Brit-Am in the work it is doing. I can honestly say that before I read the material on your website I had absolutely no idea of anything to do with the separation between Judah and Israel made in scripture. I even remember naively remember asking my minister if modern Jews today knew which "tribe" they were descended from, such was my ignorance of the subject. It was your website that first kindled my interest in the subject of the lost tribes and although as a Believer in [ Christianity ] our Messianic beliefs differ the vast majority of your material is grounded in truth and sincerity. If I am every puzzled on an area of scripture I firmly believe it is a good idea to see what Jewish beliefs on the subject are, this is only but right seeing Jewish Theology and History far outstrips that of the "Church". Telling others of the wonderful truths concerning the ten dispersed tribes has not been easy but things I believe are changing. More and more people are willing to learn and are becoming aware of their Joint Israelite heritage.
A thought struck me recently as I pondered the subject. As western Nations become more and more multi-cultural, and multi-ethnic, White westerners stand to become the new "minorities" within their own countries. This is no bad thing in and of itself, as all men are equal before God, however if one were to take South Africa as an example and the widespread discrimination and racism faced by the White (and Colored, Indian) populations there, could it not be that the Lost ten tribes which are among the Western peoples could be forced to abandon their former homelands for the Land of Israel.
Only God knows the future and His Divine plans but I just wonder we are witnessing the beginning of this phenomenon.
