Casale:
Signs Given by Isaiah and Future Redemption
RE: Brit-Am Now no. 1565
#4. The Fourteen Aims of Biblical Prophecy
according to Don Isaac Abarbanel
http://britam.org/now2/1565Now.html#The
Regarding the regathering of the lost ten tribes.
First of all, biblical prophecy generally follows a certain stylistic
pattern. The prophet will first talk about certain near-term events, then
connect them directly with the goal of history -- the Messianic Age.
A good example is found in Isaiah 1 vs Isaiah 2:1-5. The prophet first
speaks of the social injustices of Israel and then afterwards connects the
redemption of Israel with "the end of days."
The book of Isaiah has a specific structure to it, with prophetic utterances
interspersed with historical interludes, for the purpose of connecting
prophecy to specific historical occurrences during the time of the Assyrian
invasion of Israel and Judah. It was at this time when the northern ten
tribes were taken into captivity and then scattered.
There are important prophecies regarding this scattering which explain
exactly how the return is to be accomplished.
1) Isaiah 7, especially verses 14-16. A child named Immanuel was to be born
as a sign to King Ahaz that the two nations conspiring against him to make a
military coup and put a non-Davidic puppet king on the throne of Judah --
Syria and northern Israel -- would both be themselves destroyed.
2) Isaiah 8, especially verses 1-4. A second child named
Maher-shalal-hash-baz was to be born as yet another sign that this
prophesied destruction and subsequent scattering was shortly to come.
3) Many biblical minimalists have commented that Isaiah 40 onward is
stylistically different from the preceding chapters. Therefore, they posit
that it was written by a different author hundreds of years after the time
of Isaiah. In actuality, Isaiah 40 onward *does* have stylistic differences
and it *was* written by a different author -- one from Isaiah's own family!
Isaiah 49:1 identifies this writer: "The Lord summoned me from the belly;
He mentioned my name from my mother's womb." This is one of the prophesied
sons of Isaiah.
4) The duty of this prophesied son is given as follows: "It is insufficient
that you be a servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to restore the
ruins of Israel. I will also make you a light for the nations, so that My
salvation may extend to the ends of the earth." This is a specific
reference to the nations that had troubled Israel during her existence:
Egypt and Assyria. (Compare Is. 19:23-25.) "The earth" is always a
geographical reference to the lands in close proximity to Israel.
5) Obviously, the lost ten tribes weren't regathered during the time of
Isaiah, and neither were Egypt and Assyria at peace with Israel and Judah.
So the literary intent of this message is that an individual who is known by
God from his mother's womb will regather the lost ten tribes as well as make
peace with the nations troubling Israel immediately before the Messianic Age
begins.

Re Discussion group
Shalom,
J'aimerais joindre votre groupe de discussion. I would like to join your
discussion group.
Last year, after patient efforts, my parents managed to trace their
genealogy (on my mother's side) back to the Merovingian kings and Jewish
ancestors (among them a gaon of Pumbedita, Natronai Ben Nehemiah David). The
list is quite impressive as it involves a lot of nobility from many ethnic
groups and at first it was very hard to believe. But they made no mistakes.
I was born a gentile. Though my parents are not particularly interested in
religion, I am a practicing Roman catholic (but I do not consider myself
above others) and have felt judeochristian for some years now. I would very
much like to know to what extent I could actually be Jewish as well. Perhaps
you could help me find the answer. A few things are certain: as a catholic,
I do NOT ignore the Torah and the prophets, on the contrary. I also feel
sympathy for the State of Israel and an interest in the intellectual,
artistic achievements of Jewish people throughout the world. Your website,
which I discovered today, offers many fascinating forays into the secret
history of the world.
Blessings,

3. Germany and the Amorites?
From the Germanic-L List:
From: heathensailor <heathensailor@cox.net>
Subject: [Germanic-L] 10th century law codes
Lotte writes, in _Wise One Of The Mountain_,
# We may note furthermore, a special set of laws, extant in two tenth-century
manuscripts... The code itself does not name the tribe... but directs itself to
the 'Franks who live in the country of Amor, who appear as neighbors of the
Frisians and the Saxons. The laws are concerned, more than other Germanic codes,
with the upkeep of bridges and of sluices, and we may understand that the laws
deal with an area which lay open to inundation. The document further offers an
impression of a population occupied, above all else, with the raising of
domestic animals, such as cows and pigs. #
This would be, I gather, 10th century Westphalia. Does anyone have more
information on these codes?
Thanks.
Rick
Brit-Am Comment:
Note the expression "Franks who live in the country of Amor". This is
similar to the term "Land of Amor" and "Land of the Amorites" find in the Bible
and Middle East Literature. The Amorites were a leading Canaanite nation. Other
sources indicate the presence of Canaanites in Germany.
Could there be a connection between "country of Amor" and "Land of Amor" or is
it just a coincidence?
4. Jennie Schmidt: The Future Elijah
Land Development Project?
Dear Mr. Davidiy
I have one small question about this Elijah person that brings the restoration.
Is he a land developer? ...Because every time I see him in scripture, he is
paving roads, and landscaping with specialty trees, and adding waterways...
Look: (Isaiah 40:3-5) "The voice of one crying in the wilderness: Prepare the
way of the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every
valley shall be exalted and every mountain and hill brought low; the crooked
places shall be made straight and the rough places smooth..."
And this: (Is. 57:14) And one shall say "Heap it up! Heap it up! Prepare the
way, take the stumbling block out of the way
of my people."
(Jer.31:21) Set up sign posts, make landmarks, set your heart toward the
highway...
(Is. 62:10)" Go through, go through the gates! Prepare the way for the people:
Build up, Build up the highway! Take out the stones, lift up a banner for the
peoples!"
(Is. 43:19)"I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the
desert..."
(Is. 41:18)"I will open rivers in desolate hights, and fountains in the midst of
the valleys; I will plant in the wilderness the cedar and the acacia tree, the
myrtle and the oil tree, I will set in the desert the cypress tree and the pine
and the box tree together..."
(Is. 35:6)"For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness, and streams in the
desert. The parched ground shall become a pool, and thirst land springs of
water...grass with reeds and rushes...
A highway shall be there, and a road, and it shall be called "The Highway of
Holiness. The unclean shall not pass over it...
(Is. 49:9) "They shall feed along the roads (restaurants?)and their pastures
shall be on all the desolate heights (West Bank?)...I will make each of my
mountains a road, and my highways shall be elevated..."
(Is. 51:3) "He will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the
garden of the Lord..."
What is your take on all that?
Jennie
Brit-Am Reply:
This is an interesting set of Biblical verses you have assembled. I am not sure
however of your implied association of Elijah with all of them.
In the future there will be climatic and political changes in the land.

The Land Will Be Healed
In Biblical times Manasseh received an inheritance on both the east and west
sides of the Jordan. Machir and Gilead dominated the eastern side. Economically
it is considered to have possibly been as important as the whole of the West
Side of the Jordan.
At that time the climate was different. There were forests and immense
grasslands. The land has changed due to climatic change and ecological
despoliation perpetrated by foreigners including the Romans, Turks, and Arabs.
Destroy trees and vegetation coverage and you will heat up the earth, decrease
precipitation and create a desert. With enough will and effort this process
could be reversed and the region could be made to flourish and support a great
many people in most congenial conditions. It is hinted that indeed that this is
what will happen (Ezekiel 16:55, 2-Chronicles 7:14):
[Leviticus 26:42] THEN WILL I REMEMBER MY COVENANT WITH JACOB, AND ALSO MY
COVENANT WITH ISAAC, AND ALSO MY COVENANT WITH ABRAHAM WILL I REMEMBER; AND I
WILL REMEMBER THE LAND.

The Lost Ten Tribes Identified and the Relevant Statistics.
An Ongoing Series.
Statistics: Total GDP per
Country and the Israelite Peoples Amongst Them.
http://britam.org/stats/GDPall.html
Extract:
Of the first 10 spots, four (USA, UK, France, Canada) are occupied by nations we
identify as dominated by Israelites.
Of the spots 11 to 20, five (Netherlands, Australia, Switzerland, Belgium,
Sweden) are taken by Israelite nations.
Partly Edomite countries (Japan, Germany, China, Italy, Spain, Mexico) are also
in the top 10 and in the second 10 (Argentina, Russia, Austria) after that.
Israelite and Edomite nations occupy most of the top 20 spots.
