1. Brendan Stapleton:  Mormon Beliefs Regarding the Ten Tribes
Subject: RE: Brit-Am Now no. 1586

In regard to the Mormon beliefs, as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints we believe that 1. the ten tribes are in one body somewhere in the world most likely like the American Indians who do not know their heritage,
2.  while a fair amount of the ten tribes on their travels did not go with the main group but mingled with the locals and that is how the blood of Israel is found all over the world.  We believe that you are either a literal descendent of Israel or else an adopted member, similar to some one who accepts Judaism though not a Jew.  There are many theories of were the tribes are held by members but they are theories and nothing more.  It is my opinion that they are a people who do not know their heritage and that they will have a conversion similar to that of the time of Moses where many will accept the political leadership of the Messiah ben Ephraim but not the religious ideas until later.  They will leave their place probably due to political problems with the EU and they will revolt from her chains and will then be lead by Messiah ben Joseph through the highway in the ocean to the New Jerusalem where many due to the miracles will be converted and will see that God is their God and that they are his chosen people.  We believe that the ten tribes have prophets among them teaching them though we do not know what a prophet is as a prophet is varied in the Bible as it is really anyone who prophesies in the name of God and for God but as we see in the bible there are many that work under the presiding prophet such as in the bible.

2. Sean Casey Back in the Saddle!
Subject: Lost tribes

Dear Yair
I have it on good authority that the Cockney tribe of East London and the Millwall tribe supporters got lost on their way to a game in Judea back in 350 BC. They were playing the Israelites in a cup game but got drunk and took the wrong wagon. They all woke up on a Roman slave ship but they were so disgusting the Romans kicked them off and they all wound up in East London where they have been ever since. The Eskimos and the Zulu's are also lost Israelites as are the Amazon Indians. The Rabbi Sitting Bull opened the first sin a gog in a Wigwam and made a menora out of Buffallo bones. You Israelites do get around. Everybody is an Israelite. Can we all go home? Will there be enough room in Israel for 7 billion people. Aristotle was a Jew as was Pythagoras and Archimedes, in fact all the great men of history were Jews, isn't that right Yair.

Here is a bit of info that I very much doubt you will be passing on, otherwise you wouldn't be able to take the credit for everything and it would conflict with your belief that you are a Jew or Judean or an Israelite, which, according to the scriptures and academic historians, are far from related. Added to that It would seem there is no phonetic sound for J or indeed a 'J' in the 22 word Hebrew alphabet. In fact the English language had no 'J' until the 17th century and writers back then never referred to Jews at any time. tricky when "J" is a key letter for Jews. Not many people know that, except Michael Cain.

The word "Jew" is a relatively modern invention used, seemingly indiscriminately and interchangeably, by 18th century redactors to describe Israelites, Judahites and Judaeans. It first appeared in these eighteenth century Bibles and it first appears within these redactions in 2 Kings 16:6 .... in an episode that describes a war between Israel and Judah: when Rezin, king of Syria and Pekah, king of Israel went to war with wicked Ahaz, king of Judah. The Syrians "drave the Jews from Elath" who were in possession of it Why the inhabitants of the kingdom of Judah were called "Jews" when more properly they should have been called Judahites.

However, the point here is this: the very first time the word "Jew" is found in the modern Bible, they are at war with Israel. Mmmm, and here's me thinking Israeli's and Jews were one and the same.

Meanwhile back with the scholars.

"Strictly speaking, it is incorrect to call an ancient Israelite a "Jew" or to call a contemporary Jew an "Israelite" or a "Hebrew." The first Hebrews may not have been Jews at all. And that's according to the Jewish Almanac (1980).

You should check it out. Your the Jew Historian. Post this email why don't you?

According to you we're all Jews and by your reckoning we probably are, given that it is clearly arbitrary.

Regards

Sean (Irish Jew in the name of the law)

Brit-Am Reply:
My Dear Mr Sean,
Wethinks you are in dire need of making true repentance and expressing genuine contrition for your perverse pattern of cognition and abuse of the pensive faculty.
You may or may not have suffered from  feelings of deprivation in your infancy. If such was the case you have our heartiest commiserations.
We do NOT however feel ourselves responsible for your plight.
We doubt that we have the means to rectify the aberrations of your psyche.
You should therefore seek your own salvation.
We are however somewhat intrigued as to what drives wayward souls in the pits of darkness like yourself to become so obsessed with the Jewish People and everything about them?

3. Most of the Sabbatarian Church of God groups also recognize the 10 Lost Tribes.
From: celtic
Do you realize most of the Sabbatarian Church of God groups also recognize the 10 Lost Tribes ?

Brit-Am Reply:
Yes we are aware of that.
The United Church of God offers a free download of the booklet:
"The United States and Britain in Biblical Prophecy"
http://www.gnmagazine.org/booklets/US/
The last we looked at this work we found it to be well done and genuinely worthwhile.
They made use of some of our research material and acknowledge having done so.
We have a permanent link to this work on our site.
http://www.britam.org/links.html

Also William F. Dankenbring in the past purchased hundreds of our books but for several good years now we have not heard from him
and seem to have lost contact altogether.
We also no longer receive his magazines. Is he still active?

Quite a few of our subscribers are or were associated with one or other of the Church of God groups in question.
We usually however hear very little from the groups themselves.
A close association between ourselves and any of this groups is not feasible, not from our point of view nor from theirs.
We might however all be able to find some way to cooperate more between us in spreading the Lost Tribes message?
