1. Is Yair Davidiy Descended from King David?

I do not think I am a descendant of David but one never knows. We have no strong evidence in that direction.
My father in Britain had the surname Russell-Davis. In Australia he used only Davis. My own family name in Australia was Davis.
When I cam to Israel due to a combination of circumstances there were reasons for me to adopt a more Hebrew-sounding name.
Davidiy is close in meaning and sound to Davis.
DNA indicates that my family on the male side comes from Nial (or one of his brothers) of Irish Legend.
This, if true, may not be as good as King David but it is not so bad either.
There are a few well-known people called Davidiy in Israel.
Aharon Davidi is a famous soldier who by coincidence in his younger days happened to look a little like me.

He was the founder of the Sar-El volunteer program of the IDF. This program enables both Jewish and non-Jewish volunteers from overseas to work for two or three weeks in IDF projects.
Another is Udi Davidi

a well-known religious singer and song writer who many claim looks like one of my children.
Udi Davidi was always good but recently seems to be getting even better.
Personally I never met either Aaron or Udi but people in Israel are often convinced they see a connection.
Even when I or my sons insist there is no relationship there are those who still believe there is.

These articles are important. It is worth getting brief summaries of the information out within a reasonably short time.
Our present workload does not enable us to present the ideas at length as they deserve. We therefore intend to send out bare outlines of the main points.
Later if time, interest, and other factors allow we make go back and present or discuss some of the points at greater length.
