Brit-Am Works for the Unification of the Will and Heart of All Israelites with Judah.
The Need for Historical Perspective.

Brit-Am works for the drawing together of the hearts of Joseph, the Ten Tribes, and Judah. Brit-Am is effective in this regarding those who come into contact with Brit-Am.
Relatively speaking this may not be a great number but it is something.
Recently we posted an item showing that the US had once considered military force against Israel.

For the sake of perspective it is also worth remarking that in the 1930s the US had plans for attacking Britain.

At present the US on the whole is pro-Israel.
So are Australia and Canada.
New Zealand is not certain but usually sympathetic.
The UK is neutral but on the whole positive.
Nevertheless all this could change immediately.
We must be on our guard.
France at times is pro-Israel and at other times not.
The same applies to Belgium, Netherlands, Finland, Denmark, and Switzerland.
Norway and Sweden and Ireland on the whole at present are blatantly anti-Israeli and even anti-Jewish.

Brit-Am holds that all Israelite Nations should draw together and also draw closer to Judah.
This is a Biblical duty.
The Almighty does not want Israelites to be antagonistic towards each other.

Isaiah 9:
20 And he shall snatch on the right hand
And be hungry;
He shall devour on the left hand
And not be satisfied;
Every man shall eat the flesh of his own arm.
21 Manasseh shall devour Ephraim, and Ephraim Manasseh;
Together they shall be against Judah.
For all this His anger is not turned away,
But His hand is stretched out still.

This passage of Isaiah is on one hand a parable using familiar names for how people act (or will act) on an individual level.

It is descriptive of bad acting.
It is a curse and an outcome of sin.
Isaiah uses the image of Ephraim and Manasseh being against each other but then teaming up versus Judah
as a simile for a person fighting against themself!!!
When members of family are hostile to each other it is (says Isaiah) as if they eat their own flesh!
Ephraim, Manasseh, Judah, and all the other Tribes should realize they are one family!
When one Israelite Nations harms another it is as if they harm themselves!
It is compared to devouring their own body.
This is in fact is what it is!!
It is symptomatic of personality disease!!
God does not want it.
Brit-Am works against it.
Identify with Brit-Am. We are successful in what we do but only to the extent that we are enabled to do it and reach others with it!

Brit-Am works to affirm the PHYSICAL fact as to the Ten Tribes being amongst Western Peoples.
This is what must be made known.
All other considerations have proven to be superfluous, divisive, and diversionary.
The message and truth of physical descent must go out and reach public consciousness for public affirmation.
This is what Brit-Am works for.

Several of our supporters replied by sending in moderate amounts that were very very welcome.
This helped at the time but the overall amount was not so large (as compared with the needs) and there was no continuation.
Brit-Am needs more people to send in more funds more regularly.
Like any other organization we need money to function.

As a result of this Brit-Am Renewed Appeal we also received an interesting letter.
Someone who only relatively became aware of Brit-Am teaching but testifies that they affected him deeply is a Christian Activist in the Far East.
After decades of dedication he not only raised his own family well but also helped hundreds (perhaps thousands) of orphans physically survive, grow up, and spiritually draw closer.
The enterprise he has been involved in has thrived without (as he says) once having to make an appeal for funds.
He suggested that we do the same!

Maybe.
Maybe not.
Experience shows that if we do not ask we usually do not receive.
If we do not receive our operation may be endangered.
The State of Israel also asks for money.
And gets it.
The State of Israel gives something in return i.e. its existence and performance.
It may not be perfect but it is not bad and it is what there is.
The same applies to Brit-Am.

It is now the turn of the Year according to the Hebrew Calendar.
Looking back we may say that on the whole last year had its share of problems but we got through it and merited to give something to it.
May this coming year be much much better in every way NOT ONLY for us but for all of you.

Your reply to Stephen regarding the meaning of Australia in Hebrew was interesting. The name Australia comes from the Latin "Australia" which means a southern land. If the Latin "Australia" was to be translated into Hebrew, it would be translated as Sinim, which means southern land. Sinim is of course mentioned by the Prophet Isaiah as one of the locations from where a remnant of the House of Israel will return in the days of Messiah ben David.

Isaiah 49:12 (King James Version) Behold, these shall come from far: and, lo, these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim".

Your alternate rendering as "I will hide [Ostir] for me [Li]-Yaha" is interesting as Australia certainly was the last continent to be "discovered" in our current era. There are some indications though that Australia's existence was known to the Phoenician (Hebrew / Canaanite) seafarers who travelled and explored extensively during the reigns of David and Solomon. I wonder if there is any connection between Ostir (I will hide) and Ophir, as the author in the attached suggests that the Phoenician mining operation in Queensland (north-east Australia) may be the location of the legendary Ophir in the Bible.

Regarding Ned Kelly, you have recently posted some articles regarding his exhumation. That reminded me of an interesting story regarding the infamous outlaw ("bushranger" in Australian parlance) and a young John Monash, later to become General Sir John Monash, who I mentioned in my essay " Is Australia Sinim?".

The Monash family moved from Melbourne to the New South Wales country town of Jerilderie where John Monash's father operated a general store. In 1879 the infamous Kelly Gang rode into Jerilderie where they robbed a bank and took control of the police station. It was in Jerilderie that Ned Kelly dictated his long, rambling "manifesto" protesting his innocence and attempting to inspire a rebellion of the Irish in the Colony of Victoria to set up an Irish free state. Legend has it, and Monash neither confirmed nor denied it, that when the Kelly Gang rode into town, young John Monash went out of his father's store to see what was going on. It is said that Ned Kelly saw young John Monash standing outside his father's store, and dismounted and handed his horse's reins to the young boy and told him to mind his horse.

It's not a Brit-Am matter of course, but I do find these strange historical oddities interesting.

Regarding the BAMAD article (http://britam.org/DNA/BAMAD98.html) "Where are the Vikings of Ireland?", it would appear that the researchers are looking in the wrong places. My family name (Cotter) has Norse origins, (ref. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cotter_family and http://www.miriamellis.com/geneaology1.shtml) and DNA analysis, albeit on a very small sample base, indicates in all samples taken so far Norse origins (ref. http://www.familytreedna.com/public/sonsofottar/default.aspx )

Brit-Am Comment:
Sinim in Hebrew connotes the Sini people. These were a Canaaanite Nation.
The SINI were descendants of Canaan (1-Chronicles 1:15), son of Ham.
The Aramaic Translation to the Bible renders Land of Sinim in Isaiah 49:12 as Ara Droma i.e. Land of the South.
The translation was Paraphrasing.
THE LAND OF SINIM does not mean "Land of the South" but it was understood to be identical with it.
The Land of Sinimn was one of the regions whence the Lost ten Tribes in the future will return from.
"BEHOLD THESE SHALL COME FROM FAR: AND, LO, THESE FROM THE NORTH AND FROM THE WEST; AND THESE FROM THE LAND OF SINIM (Isaiah 49:12).

5. Jennie Schmidt: Let us Leave Religious Differences for Elijah to Solve!
Re: Brit-Am on Unity and the Need for Enhanced Support.

If Judah and Ephraim will see "eye to eye" when Elijah comes, which should be soon, why do we care right now what religion anyone is? Won't Elijah fix all that? Why don't we focus on helping each other out, supporting each other, and being more in unity, and set religious differences on the shelf un till Elijah gets here? Is that a stupid question? Or maybe God just wants to do it all at once so we can all see that it was God and not ourselves that brought this unity.

My grandfather was an Australian soldier and he died of phenmonia on the Gaza strip in World War II. I suppose he was there fighting for the peace of Israel. He is buried over there. It will have been noticed from discussions concerning the Hebrew New year Day that in Biblical practice there were several different days that served as New Year's day for their particular purpose.

# Nissan 1 is the new year for the purpose of counting the reign of kings and months on the calendar, Elul 1 (in August) is the new year for the tithing of animals, Shevat 15 (in February) is the new year for trees (determining when first fruits can be eaten, etc.), and Tishri 1 (Rosh Hashanah) is the new year for years (when we increase the year number. Sabbatical and Jubilee years begin at this time).

We know that there is a commandment to count the first of Nissan (in Aviv i.e. Spring) as the First Month of the Year.
This is the month of Passover (Pesach) which begins on the 14th day of the month.
Exodus 12:
1 Now the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, 2 This month shall be your beginning of months; it shall be the first month of the year to you.
We are therefore commanded to count this month (Nissan) as thge first month of the year!
We find however that another beginning of the year is also mentioned:

Ezekiel 40:
1 In the twenty-fifth year of our captivity, at the beginning of the year [Hebrew: "Rosh HaShanah"], on the tenth day of the month, in the fourteenth year after the city was captured, on the very same day the hand of the LORD was upon me; and He took me there.

We have here in the Hebrew text a day termed "Rosh HaShanah" (New Year Day) that fell on the 10th of the month. The Sages (Arakin 12:a) said that this was Yom Kippur which falls on the 10th of Tishrei and every fifty years begins a new Jubilee cycle. As far as the Jubilee Cycle is concerned the New Year begins on Yom Kippur every fifty years. For the sake of the Jubilee the year is counted from one Yom Kippur to another.
In the jubilee year (Hebrew "Yovel") fields return to their ancestral owners and Hebrew slaves are freed and return to their homes.
This was also associated with the return of the Ten Tribes.

Leviticus 23

It shall be a holy convocation for you; you shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire to the LORD. 28 And you shall do no work on that same day, for it is the Day of Atonement, to make atonement for you before the LORD your God.

Leviticus 25:
8 And you shall count seven sabbaths of years for yourself, seven times seven years; and the time of the seven sabbaths of years shall be to you forty-nine years. 9 Then you shall cause the trumpet of the Jubilee to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month; on the Day of Atonement you shall make the trumpet to sound throughout all your land. 10 And you shall consecrate the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a Jubilee for you; and each of you shall return to his possession, and each of you shall return to his family.

In addition we also find that an end of the year is also mentioned:
Exodus 23:
14 Three times you shall keep a feast to Me in the year: 15 You shall keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread (you shall eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded you, at the time appointed in the month of Abib, for in it you came out of Egypt; none shall appear before Me empty); 16 and the Feast of Harvest, the first fruits of your labors which you have sown in the field; and the Feast of Ingathering at the end of the year, when you have gathered in the fruit of your labors from the field.
17 Three times in the year all your males shall appear before the Lord GOD.

Notice above the "Feast of Ingathering at the end of the year":

22 And you shall observe the Feast of Weeks, of the firstfruits of wheat harvest, and the Feast of Ingathering at the year's end.
Here we have the translator rendering the Hebrew "tekufat ha-Shanah" as "at the year's end".
"Tekufah" however does not mean end of the year. It means "solstice" or "equinox".
# An equinox occurs twice a year, when the tilt of the Earth's axis is inclined neither away from nor towards the Sun, the center of the Sun being in the same plane as the Earth's equator. #
# A solstice is an astronomical event that happens twice each year when the Sun's apparent position in the sky, as viewed from Earth, reaches its northernmost or southernmost extremes.#

The Sages (Talmud Yerushlami) said: Which month has aspects of the end of the year, of a Festival of Ingathering, and of a tekufah?
The answer was Tishrei. Tishrei is the end of one year and the beginning of another, Tishrei encompasses the autumnal equinox (Sept. 23).
The Feast of Succoth is also known as the feast of Ingathering (Hag Ha-Asif).
Succoth is harvest time, Nissan (Passover) is the sowing period.
Succoth falls in the month of Tishrei which is the seventh month. The First of Tishrei is Rosh HaShana (New Years Day), the 10th of Tishrei is Yom Kippur, Succoth goes from the 14th to the 21 of Tishrei with the 22th being Shemini Atseret.

The first of Tishrei happened to be a Holy Day, a sabbath-rest, a day of blowing shofars, and of remembrance.
This is Rosh HaShana.

Leviticus 23:
24 Speak to the children of Israel, saying: In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a sabbath-rest, a memorial [Hebrew: Shabaton-Zicaron] of blowing of trumpets [Hebrew: Truah], a holy convocation. 25 You shall do no customary work on it; and you shall offer an offering made by fire to the LORD.

It will be shown below that the blowing of the shofar (Truah) was associated with judgment. It is the day on which the Almighty judges the world.
[The Judgment Book however remains open in a sense until after Yom Kippur.]
There is no contradiction between observing the first of Tishrei as New Years Day even though it is the seventh month and also counting the fist of Nissan as the first day of the first month.
We do both.
This is the Bible.
It is what Scripture requires.
We saw above that the Bible itself indicates that Tishrei is associated with the end of one year and the beginning of another. Tishrei is also the month of Yom Kippur which for a specific matter was referred to by the Prophet Ezekiel as a New Year's Day.
No matter what you wish to call it Scripture does say that the first of Tishrei was a Holy Day, on which work was forbidden, a time of Holy Assembly, of blowing the Shofar, a day of Rememberance and (as we shall show below) also of Judgement. It was a time of new beginning.

Second, it is violently opposed.
Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.
