Brit-Am Reply:
One cannot know for sure that they are descended from the Ten Tribes. We can however rely to some extent on statistical probability.
This does not really gain you anything but it is a beginning.
There is no reason for you to come to Israel other than for a visit.
On the religious side we cannot give you specific advice since we are not Christians.
You should learn the Bible and seek Biblical guidance.
God be with you

#4. Question Regarding Germany, the Ten Tribes, and Other Matters.
http://britam.org/now2/1779Now.html#4

Re. The Germans,
I believe that Steve Collins and possibly other British-Israel writers have
included Germany in with the Lost Ten Tribes (LTT), but it seems to me that
your analysis comports better with history.

Although nations such as England and France have had anti-Semitic episodes,
they have not engaged in the kind of widespread race-based violence that
Germany and east European nations have engaged in toward the Jews more than
once.

We know from secular history that the Saxons and related groups sojourned in
Germany for an extended period of time (hence the German state name of
Sachsen (pronounced Zaksen, i.e. Saxony)), but they mostly migrated to
Britain early in the second millennium.

I think that the Brit-Am conclusion that the physical Israelite people have
been called out of Germany in various stages in the past is most likely
correct. There was a large German migration to the US following the US
Civil War, for instance. Many Midwestern US cities such as St. Louis,
Louisville, Cincinnati and Milwaukee received large numbers of German
immigrants at that time.

#3. Question on Physical Descent Versus Simple Faith.
http://britam.org/now2/1779Now.html#3

Dear Yair,

I don't know if this has been said before about the importance of the physical descendants of the ancient Israelites, but just in case it hasn't I will say it.
Hashem made promises that were very specific that he would disperse them when they sinned but he would bring them back to their inheritance. This is in Deut. 30 and also Ezekiel 11 and probably many other places. Hashem keeps his promises and this is why it is important that physical descendants show up for the role call. However, he also says in Isaiah that the foreigner who wants to be joined to Israel may if he lives according the  injunctions that are laid out there. ...

Shalom and Yom Tov [Good Day],
Charlotte Mecklenburg

#5. New Lost Triber from Romania'

Re: Lost tribes of Israel

Shalom Mr. Davidiy,

thank you for your answers. I would like to say that I appreciate the work you do.
Somehow I do agree with you that some nations are more Israelite than others. Perhaps Romania is less than others.
As you have stated some Israelite tribes dwelled here, even settled here. If we refer only to Dacians (and Romans) as the main contributors of modern Romanians we can say even in part, that we are Israelites. As far as I know Dacians were from the tribe of Benjamin. The name Dacii cames originally from "Daoi"(meaning wolf - Gen. 49.27) or "Daos" (with a possible Phrygian cognate), the name of the wolf god. The Dacian standard was a wolf head. Just looking at this I think the main israelite tribe in Romania could be from Benjamin.
Maybe just a coincidence - our country is viewed by France (mostly Reuben) as being the youngest brother. Even our capital is called little Paris.

Thank you,
Cornel Miu

5. Alistair Williams:  Another Message from Job 4'

Job 4
Enter Eliphaz the Temanite.
http://britam.org/Job/Job4.html#1

Hi Yair.

Just a quick observation regarding Eliphaz and the other 'friends' of Job.

They met up and made plans to go and advise Job.

Job did not ask them to come and nowhere does the account show that the Almighty sent them!

The account does show that those Job counselled before what he feared most came upon him, came to him for advice, it does not say that he approached them.

I believe it is important that we note that and practice it ourselves. Often it is very easy to poke our noses in, when we would be much wiser to listen and wait to be asked, and if not asked, do nothing.

Your thoughts' Would be welcome on this observation that stood out to me when reviewing Job a while back.

Blessings

Alistair

8. The Brit-Am Message
Below is an excerpt from the Prayer of King Solomon after the building of the Temple had been completed:
The Ten Tribes are still in their Places of Captivity.

36 'When they sin against You (for there is no one who does not sin), and You become angry with them and deliver them to the enemy, and they take them captive to a land far or near; 37 yet when they come to themselves in the land where they were carried captive, and repent, and make supplication to You in the land of their captivity, saying, 'We have sinned, we have done wrong, and have committed wickedness'; 38 and when they return to You with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity, where they have been carried captive, and pray toward their land which You gave to their fathers, the city which You have chosen, and toward the temple which I have built for Your name: 39 then hear from heaven Your dwelling place their prayer and their supplications, and maintain their cause, and forgive Your people who have sinned against You [2-Chronicles 6:36].

The Situation:

The Ten Tribes are mainly amongst Western Peoples. Not everyone in those areas is of Israelite Descent.
We cannot know for sure who is and who is not. We can only point to the fact that that is where the Ten Tribes are to be found.
The Lands they live in are also Ten Tribes Lands. They give expression to the destiny of individual Israelite Tribes.
They have corresponding responsibilities.
This is the message that needs to be spread and internalized.
What should be done in continuation will be an outcome of how this message is received.
We all need to return to the ALMIGHTY and to the Bible and HE will answer us.

9. Brit-Am Appeal:
You are not Stingy! You Just Like Us!

For the last several weeks very few contributions have been received.
We have held ourselves back from saying anything for private reasons.

Usually (but not always) when we make an appeal somebody sends in something and over the following days it gradually increases.
It may not always be enough for our minimal needs but it always helps.

People want to give.
Supporters, sympathizers, and even just those who have a mild interest in Brit-Am, all realize the need for funding.

It is also apparent that whoever helps us will be blessed from Above.
Brit-Am serves the interests of the Twelve Tribes of Israel!
Brit-Am promotes Bible learning and understanding.
Brit-Am prepares the way for the ultimate reunification of Judah and Joseph.

You want to help Brit-Am.
It could be that you all just wanted us to ask before answering?

After all our regular Brit-Am Appeal notices are literary works of art.
Who knows?
Maybe one day they will be studies in courses for English Literature?
Perhaps, you just wanted another example of our mellifluous, touching requests with their unique mixture of pathos, irony, and basic fact?
We try to please.

Anyway, what is going on with us?
Your esteemed director, Yair Davidiy, has been struck with yet another attack of severe (from his point of view) gout.
Now we are using conventional medicine, with pills and tests to take.
The attacks interfered with certain important Brit-Am projects and on going activities we were in the midst of.
Soon we should be back to working as normal but this time with some improvements and a slightly altered perspective.
In the meantime, though for more than a week or so we have not been able to work as usual, we did merit to learn and received information that Brit-Am will benefit from.

10. Brit-Am: If you do not like it, leave it!

We received a rude message concerning our appeal for funding.

As long as Brit-Am exists and functions and needs funds to do so but does not have them, appeals will be made.
They will be frequent or infrequent as we like, or as needed.

We do not have to apologize for this.

On the contrary.
We should be apologized to for having to do this.

Brit-Am provides a service on both the individual and general levels.
We are happy to have as many people as possible enjoy this service.
No-one has to pay anything if they do not want to, or cannot do so. The overwhelming majority is in this category.
Nevertheless we still need money to function, like anybody else.
They who dislike our appeals for funds are hereby strongly urged to disavail themselves of our services.

They who can give and wish to give and realize the importance of doing so are asked to give to Brit-Am.
