1. Alistair Williams: The Task of the Individual Israelite from Joseph.
Re
Brit-Am Now no. 1809.

Joseph to blame for lack of recognition
http://www.britam.org/now2/1809Now.html#1

Shalom Yair.
I quote the last sentence of your observation on this subject
'This is not a complaint or challenge but rather just a statement of fact worth remembering'.
I can only speak from personal experience and I accept that you are not complaining or challenging in your observation, however it is important to understand that Judah and Joseph have been on separate journeys.
Your work has helped in my understanding of why natural born British people identify the Bible as their Holy book even if they don't practice any of it's teachings, there is something about the human being that the Creator put in them that has to be awakened by Him and Him alone.
You have admitted that unless a person shows an interest you will not burden them with your work, and those of us who are students of the Bible do the same, therefore your work gets shared with those who show an interest.
Once we recognise who we are and accept that the only reason we are showing an interest is because He, the Almighty has stirred us up we start to understand more than we did before.
There are things He will teach us for our benefit because of where we live on this planet, and things He will reveal to you to aid in your safety and wellbeing in your locality. As His plan for humanity unfolds we must be obedient to Him first and foremost.
Therefore there comes a time in our studies when we may appear to be distancing ourselves from Brit-Am and that is because we have learned who we are and what we are to do.
You have been right in that Brit-Am is all about identity that's where the commission stops, once identity is understood then the individual must study personally to understand what he has to do to qualify his right to return according to the word of the Almighty and not the opinion of many well meaning people.
Judah has served us well in that we still have Torah and the history of modern Israel as proof of who he is.
Many have yet to understand that references to Israel in the Bible refer not necessarily to modern Israel on the map today, but to Western nations where the Abraham's seed are as the sand of the seashore, though they do not know it.
The Almighty has known from the beginning what these people would do, where they would do it and how they would not give Him the glory for the many material blessings they have enjoyed. He has established that they must go through some hard times in order to force them to call on Him and be saved.
We have to accept some very tough words recorded in the Prophets regarding our nations and their sins and what must be done to wake them up. It is only right that just as Judah has kept Torah, those who are waking up to their identity must then study diligently to understand their role in their own nations in the years ahead.
We are away from home, my understanding is that Messiah will come and bring us home, none of us can do that job for Him, we must do what Scripture tells us to do through our own diligent study.
Supporting Brit-Am ensures that those who are 'asking and seeking' will find, this is the instruction given to us and the very existence of Brit-Am is a great help in our growth in understanding, but not our sole source and neither can it be.
My life has been truly blessed since discovering Brit-Am. I have mentioned the work where I have found those looking for answers and I know that as long as the Almighty needs this information to be available, it will be.
May He continue to bless and keep you.
Alistair

2. Brian Weston: Eliphaz and Job

The Vision of Eliphaz.
http://britam.org/Job/Job4.html#3

Dear Yair,
... Though he struggled with God, Job was a righteous man. Through these intimate struggles, God refined him. I pursued the name of Eliphaz in my concordance and found that it means, God of gold.

I took some time to read through Job and saw in a new light how God had his eye on Job all of the way through. For Job feared God. On the other hand, Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar all approached Job as an unworthy man, a man unfit for God's attention. Their arguments at first are very convincing, but gradually become predatory towards Job's own fears and tribulations. It is an argument I often have with other Christians. Worthiness is not our call; it is God's. Life is precious. Not a homeless man goes to the grave without this world being diminished in some small way. Below is some scripture towards the end of Job's response to Eliphaz's 3rd reproval which I believe best illustrates this point.

But he is in one mind, and who can turn from him?
And what his soul desireth, even that he doeth.
For he performeth the thing that is appointed for me:
and many such things are with him.
Therefore I am troubled at his presence:
when I consider, I am afraid of him.
For God maketh my heart soft,
and the Almighty troubleth me:
Because I was not cut off before the darkness,
neither has he covered the darkness from my face.
JOB 23:13-17

On a secondary note, in the same chapter shortly before these verses, Job seemingly reveals something that I've never picked up before. Job uses four words to describe directions he has turned to in seeking God. In this he appears to reveal something about where God works, while at the same time listing the particular difficulty with each direction he pursues him in.

Behold, I go forward (east), but he is not there;
and backward (west), but I cannot perceive him:
On the left hand (north), where he doth work, but I cannot behold him:
I turn to the right hand (south), that I cannot see him.
JOB 23:8-9

From this it appears that God works in the north. The north is known as a place of cloudiness and darkness. I think there is much to examine here. I would like to comment further at a later time. I've long believed that there are surprises coming up north from Dan in the final days.

Shalom,

Brian Weston

All truth passes through three stages: First it is ridiculed.
Second, it is violently opposed.
Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.
