Brit-Am Reply: The Edomites went primarily to Europe. There are some indications that Edomites were also instrumental in founding the civilizations of China and Japan. There may be Edomites all over the world. Esau (father of Edom) was promised that he would become a great and prosperous people and live by the sword. Edom also give rise to Rome and to the German People. This means that at least a PORTION (even if only a minority) of the elite classes of those peoples came from Edom. Some of the Afro-Americans may be of Canaanite descent. The Kenites meaning descendants of Jethro some of whom were known as Rechabites are to be mainly found amongst the Ten Tribes. Brit-Am Reply to Richard: If you have already made up your mind there is no point in continuing the discussion. Just because the Arabs and the Klu Klux Klan types and other miscreants have put things all over the net does not mean it is correct. The Edomites under Herod and the Romans did run Judea. Herod was an Edomite and so were many of the Romans and part of their Germanic and Thracian legionairre mercenaries. There were people living in Idumea to the south and southeast of Judah and a portion of these were also Edomites. Out of hundreds of Talmudic Sages there were one or two descended from Roman Emperors and these too may have been Edomites. It has been claimed (by Abarbanel ) that the early Christians were mostly Edomites. A Christian scholar (Ernest L. Martin, Ph.D., The People That History Forgot, http://www.askelm.com/people/peo000.htm wrote a reasonable convincing work claimed that most of the early Christians were Edomites or non-Israelite semi-pagan Samaritans He seems to imply that because of this early Christianity was paganized. Perhaps Edomite ancestry could explain the pathological hatred of Jews found in some non-Jews and the obsession some of them seem to have with the question of Edom? Anyway we do not know everything but we can derive fairly reliable impressions. The Pharisees were not Edomites. Neither were most of the Jews. The Pharisees gave rise to the Sages from whom emerged the Talmud. A lot of lies have written about the Talmud. If you do not believe in the Bible then that is your problem. The Bible also says that the Ten Tribes are amongst Western Peoples. We have an obligation to prove where the Ten Tribes are and convince others of it and to work towards the reconciliation of Judah and the Ten Tribes. Anti-Jewish beliefs interfere with this task. 4. It is read and re-read, then compared to my own 30 years of study on similar subject matter plus my personal love and devotion to Middle East history. In the Jerusalem News.24 January 2012, 29 Tevet 5712 I read with great interest the article and Brit-Am reply to the "Diaspora of the Muslims" from their own lands of origin. There is little doubt about the explosion of Arabs and particularly the Islamic culture within the borders of the USA. I live but a couple hundred miles from Detroit, Michigan, USA where this population and potential majority shift is right under our own noses. We want to accept them as is the norm for immigrants to the USA, but they do not want to assimilate. Quite the contrary, they want us to adapt to their ways of life and their culture thereby forbidding our historical way of life. Your mention of Abbas and his supposed Soviet granted Ph.D. in Holocaust denial does not change the facts. There have been and remain many people with agendas that give great incentive to revise history. Less than a century ago Russia did the same to their own history, none the less, their own people a hundred years later revolted against the regime propagating such nonsense. Germany tried it as historically have a number of other "regimes." They all fell by the wayside yet Israel, Israeli's and Judaism is still at the center of global issues. Even after 3500 years, God's chosen people are still here. Abbas seems to have forgotten that the land of Promise to Israel includes both sides of the Jordan River; Gad, Reuben and the half of Manasseh resided for several hundred years of the "east Side of Jordan." There is no West Bank [in capital letters]. the west bank is a location. not a claim of the Arabs. After all, when the UN in 1948 and 25 years earlier, the British with their mandate [along with the French] re-divided the land and returned to israel, only in part, what has historically been theirs. No one can copyright the Word of G-d or HIS intentions and message. This is left to us as his creation to study, learn and discern. I do, however, wish Moses in Exodus 33:14-23 didn't ask G-d the question: Moses: "If your presence doesn't go with me, don't carry us up from here. For how would people know that I have found favor in your sight, I and your people? Isn't it in that you go with us, so that we are separated, I and your people, from all the people who are on the surface of the earth?" God answered this request from Moses, but probably not how he might have anticipated or wished. Jews [Tribe of Judah] and historically large groups of Israeli (other tribes of Israel) have been isolated, executed, forced into exile time after time as they are in fact recognized by the world as "a separated people from all the people who are on the surface of the earth." Thank you, Moses... perhaps. Exodus 34:6-7 is the "rest of this Bible story." G-d will not be mocked! G-d explicitly states to Moses "HE does not leave the guilty unpunished." Be they Islamist, Red Russians, Germans or any other ancient disperser of God's chosen, G-d's time of judgement will come to these as it has over history with the original dispersion of his own people.
