1. Brit Am ~ A Covenant of People by Steve Mathe http://www.shaar-israel.org/Welcome-to-Shaar-Israel/Brit-Am/Brit%20Am%20definition.pdf Extract: Therefore, behold, I will again do a marvelous work among this people, even a marvelous work and a wonder; and the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the prudence of their prudent men shall be hid..Isa. 29:14. It is interesting to note that the above phrase I will again do / yosif , is similar to the name Yosef .. It is the only place in the Tanach where this phrase occurs. Though the context is in a section that refers to Judah, the hint implies that the return of the great numbers of the people of Joseph will catalyze the re-identification of all of Israel as "Israelites" and will rally all of Israel to return to their God. The complete return of Judah from Exile will depend on the return of the Ten Tribes... 2. Michelle Bowie: The Bible does not call Israel Jews! Re: Brit-Am Now no. 1823 Shalom Yair, Three cheers for James Stark!! I fully agree with what he says about using the term "Jew" to apply to just anyone who is of Israel. I find it even more distressing when I see in the writings of many that Abraham and Moses are referred to as Jews, or even the entire nation of Israel BEFORE they entered the promised land as referred to as Jews. The alloted inheritance of the land to Judah did not exist prior to the entering in , yet others continue to use the term "Jew" to describe the whole of either the nation of Israel, and even Christians who keep Torah. Even the Bible does not call Israel Jews. This word we see only in the books which were written either about the captivity, or written after the captivity. Also, just as Mr. Stark states, to be a Jew is a way of life and faith that those of the scattered lost tribes have not been raised in. They should not be called Jewish if they have not been raised in the Jewish faith. But please let me clarify I am not against the word "Jew" at all....just the improper use of it to describe who we are! I agree with Mr. Stark that it is the improper use of the word that is causing so much confusion and we must be true to the Word and call the people by their true name ----ISRAEL.!!! Blessings, mb 3.
