The Ten Tribes and ISLES OF THE SEA 24 April 2012; 2 Iyar 5772 The Ten Tribes and ISLES OF THE SEA The Bible says that a major portion of the Lost Ten Tribes will be in the Isles of the Sea meaning Isles to the West of the Land of Israel and referring mainly to the British Isles. "I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn. Hear the word of the LORD, O ye nations, and declare it in the ISLES afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock" (Jeremiah 31: 9-10). "Listen 0 ISLES unto me. Thou art my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified... to bring Jacob again unto him... to raise up the tribes of Jacob... a covenant of the people [in Hebrew: "Brit-am"] to establish the earth... to inherit the desolate heritages... these from the north and the west; and these from the land of Sinim" (Isaiah 49:1 6). "The name of the Lord God of Israel in the ISLES of the sea" (Isaiah 24:15). "The ISLES shall wait for his law" (Isaiah 42:4). "Hearken unto me, MY PEOPLE...O my nation...mine arms shall judge the people, the ISLES shall wait upon me" (Isaiah 51:4-5). But we must repent first (like you said). We can't just say 'God forgives me' without asking for it. This is all part of having a relationship with Him. One thing I notice while reading the Old Testament is that nobody ever said 'The devil is causing all my problems'. And God holds each one responsible for what they do. This is no small matter. As an orthodox Jew searching out his cousins you are precious in the sight of the Lord. ... As I often tell people around me, God is Just, not fair. He is a jealous God. ... We the remnant are the gleaning grapes of Isaiah 17. If there is one thing that knowing my ancestry has helped me to understand and appreciate it is to love people, and especially Israel. With Israel comes minds, hearts, spirits and visions. Down today, up tomorrow; that is the mark of an Israelite. I am related to the Thomas Weston who invested a significant amount of his money, vision, and sweat equity into getting the Mayflower expedition underway in 1620. Many fell away at the last minute due to the extreme financial risk that was expected of them. The expedition turned out to be a miserable failure. Today those same people who fell away would be considered smart, wise, and prudent. Thomas has forever been castigated for his shortsightedness and his shortcomings in dealing with the surviving pilgrims. Yet, in truth, no one had put so much of themselves into the venture as Thomas had. Historians have largely painted him as a scoundrel and even a lawbreaker. And yet, look at the outcome; Look how many minds, hearts, spirits and visionaries have followed him. I love Israelites. God does too. Laying down lives, so others may live. ... I find Torah's fulfillment in knowing the truth of my sinfulness against an Almighty God. When I fear Him, I know Him for He is a merciful God. Much of this is written into David's Psalm 103. For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust. In this vein, I am left to believe that your ability to finesse Torah is your God-given talent to speak to the wise amongst us...your special touch and sensitivity to God's Law is greatly appreciated. ... King David and Repentance. http://www.britam.org/repentance.html A thought came to me that the Biblical text doesn't condemn Bathsheba (spelling?) for adultery. The King took her. Is that a picture of how the tribes will come back? The tribes have committed spiritual adultery and yet Messiah will bring them back to the land as His own. |
