Runic Script of Scandinavia written in Hebrew Language In Scandinavia, England, and elsewhere they once used the runic script. This was the earliest aphabet used by Northern peoples in those areas. The runic alphabet was derived in part from the Ancient Hebrew Alphabet. Some of the earliest runic inscriptions are to be found in Bleking in southeast Sweden. Orjan Svensson has proven that the language of these inscriptions was an early form of Hebrew or (in other cases) a mixed Hebrew-Aramaic dialect. His work may be seen at: |
