Psalms 119-18 Tsaddi
TZADDI

[Psalms 119:137] RIGHTEOUS ART THOU, O LORD, AND UPRIGHT ARE THY JUDGMENTS.

[Psalms 119:138] THY TESTIMONIES THAT THOU HAST COMMANDED ARE RIGHTEOUS AND VERY FAITHFUL.
Amos Chocham (Daat Mikra) interprets the Hebrew here as saying:
Through your testimonies YOU have commanded us to be righteous and very faithful and reliable.

[Psalms 119:139] MY ZEAL HATH CONSUMED ME, BECAUSE MINE ENEMIES HAVE FORGOTTEN THY  WORDS.
Amos Chocham (Daat Mikra): My enemies oppress me because I keep YOUR commandments and they do not. Because of my zeal I am eaten up.
The word translated as " CONSUMED" derives from the root "tsemet" which most say means "cut off". S.R. Hirsch says it usually means to "render numb" but here it could mean "harden, make like steel". My enthusiasm and zealousness makes me tough to stand against my enemies who come at me because of my belief.
"Tsemet" may also connote "a permanent binding".  The word "serf" (bonded farmer subservient to a "lord") is translated as "tsomit" from the same root.
In this case the explanation would be, My zealousness bonds me permanently  especially when I see how others disrespect YOUR words.
This indeed is an aspect familiar to those of us who have repented and re-embraced a Torah existence after having perhaps been brought up in a non-Torah atmosphere or having flirted with the idea of a non-Torah lifestyle.  We see how others who are opposed to the Torah and to what is good do not keep the Torah and this makes us want to keep it even more.

[Psalms 119:140] THY WORD IS VERY PURE: THEREFORE THY SERVANT LOVETH IT.

[Psalms 119:141] I AM SMALL AND DESPISED: YET DO NOT I FORGET THY PRECEPTS.
#SMALL# Hebrew "Tsair" also connoting "young" and  relatively insignificant.

[Psalms 119:142] THY RIGHTEOUSNESS IS AN EVERLASTING RIGHTEOUSNESS, AND THY LAW IS THE  TRUTH.

[Psalms 119:143] TROUBLE AND ANGUISH HAVE TAKEN HOLD ON ME: YET THY COMMANDMENTS ARE MY DELIGHTS.

[Psalms 119:144] THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF THY TESTIMONIES IS EVERLASTING: GIVE ME   UNDERSTANDING, AND I SHALL LIVE.
