Psalm 126
A SONG OF DEGREES
This Psalm  is sung just before Grace After Meals on Shabbatoth and Yomim Tovim (Feastdays) by Orthodox Jews.

[Psalms 126:1] WHEN THE LORD TURNED AGAIN THE CAPTIVITY OF ZION, WE WERE LIKE THEM THAT DREAM.
When God caused the Exiles to return from Babylon in the time of Ezra people had difficulty believing it. So too, many of the older Jews still look on the state of Israel as the fulfilment of a dream that in the past many believed would never be fulfilled.
Likewisse the future Redemption will be even greater.

[Psalms 126:2] THEN WAS OUR MOUTH FILLED WITH LAUGHTER, AND OUR TONGUE WITH SINGING: THEN   SAID THEY AMONG THE HEATHEN, THE LORD HATH DONE GREAT THINGS FOR THEM.
The non-Israelites will also recognize the greatness of  what is being done for Israel when the Israselites and Judah return to the greater Land of Israel and re-possess it.

[Psalms 126:3] THE LORD HATH DONE GREAT THINGS FOR US; WHEREOF WE ARE GLAD.

[Psalms 126:4] TURN AGAIN OUR CAPTIVITY, O LORD, AS THE STREAMS IN THE SOUTH.
THE STREAMS IN THE SOUTH.  This refers to the wadis in the southern desert areas. After rainfall the dry river beds fill up and overflow. What begins as a little trickle quickly can turn into a mighty stream. So too when the Exiles return at first only a few start out, then more, and more, and soon it becomes a mass movement.

[Psalms 126:5] THEY THAT SOW IN TEARS SHALL REAP IN JOY.
Sometimes you have to begin even though it looks like there is little hope of success. It could be that in the past you have tried and failed. Or you have tried, succeeded, and then failed. Now it is heartbreaking for you to have to start all over again. Nevertheless, the message is: Do it! In the end you will will rewarded manifold.

[Psalms 126:6] HE THAT GOETH FORTH AND WEEPETH, BEARING PRECIOUS SEED, SHALL DOUBTLESS  COME AGAIN WITH REJOICING, BRINGING HIS SHEAVES WITH HIM.
PRECIOUS SEED. The word  "PRECIOUS" is not present in the Hebrew original.
