Isaiah Chapter 58

[Isaiah 58:1] CRY ALOUD, SPARE NOT, LIFT UP THY VOICE LIKE A TRUMPET, AND SHEW MY PEOPLE THEIR TRANSGRESSION, AND THE HOUSE OF JACOB THEIR SINS.
This is directed both to Israel and Judah.
                 
 [Isaiah 58:2] YET THEY SEEK ME DAILY, AND DELIGHT TO KNOW MY WAYS, AS A NATION THAT DID RIGHTEOUSNESS, AND FORSOOK NOT THE ORDINANCE OF THEIR GOD: THEY ASK OF ME THE ORDINANCES OF JUSTICE; THEY TAKE DELIGHT IN APPROACHING TO GOD.
America was founded by people who believed in the Bible and the Bible is the essence of the aims of American civilization.

 [Isaiah 58:3] WHEREFORE HAVE WE FASTED, SAY THEY, AND THOU SEEST NOT? WHEREFORE HAVE WE AFFLICTED OUR SOUL, AND THOU TAKEST NO KNOWLEDGE? BEHOLD, IN THE DAY OF YOUR FAST YE FIND PLEASURE, AND EXACT ALL YOUR LABOURS.  

 [Isaiah 58:4] BEHOLD, YE FAST FOR STRIFE AND DEBATE, AND TO SMITE WITH THE FIST OF WICKEDNESS: YE SHALL NOT FAST AS YE DO THIS DAY, TO MAKE YOUR VOICE TO BE HEARD ON HIGH.              
A person should indeed prayer and fast (on occasion) and also do charity and help people. Avoid oppressing people whether members of your family, employees, friends, associates, or complete strangers. It does not hurt to be polite and considerate and even helpful to those in need of assistance.  

 [Isaiah 58:5] IS IT SUCH A FAST THAT I HAVE CHOSEN? A DAY FOR A MAN TO AFFLICT HIS SOUL? IS IT TO BOW DOWN HIS HEAD AS A BULRUSH, AND TO SPREAD SACKCLOTH AND ASHES UNDER HIM? WILT THOU CALL THIS A FAST, AND AN ACCEPTABLE DAY TO THE LORD?        

 [Isaiah 58:6] IS NOT THIS THE FAST THAT I HAVE CHOSEN? TO LOOSE THE BANDS OF WICKEDNESS, TO UNDO THE HEAVY BURDENS, AND TO LET THE OPPRESSED GO FREE, AND THAT YE BREAK EVERY YOKE?                
In the USA according to reports are many prisoners.  Most are probably criminals and deserves to be incarcerated. Nevertheless a certain percentage have been unjustly imprisoned. This also happens (to a lesser degree) in Israel and throughout the world. To a certain degree it is inevitable. Nevertheless it is unjust and God wants us to do whatever we can when we can to prevent such happenings. Likewise people are in cults or employment situations in conditions of subjugation that are oppressive.  Drug addicts are similarly oppressed and exploited.  In some cases the people concerned may deserve what they get BUT rthis is not the attitude the Bible tells us to take.
 It is our duty to do what we can to help the victims concerned.
Brit-Am co-founder and veteran supporter Rabbi  Avraham Feld of  the Maccabee Institute on numerous occasions risked his life to help people get out of oppressive situations.

 [Isaiah 58:7] IS IT NOT TO DEAL THY BREAD TO THE HUNGRY, AND THAT THOU BRING THE POOR THAT ARE CAST OUT TO THY HOUSE? WHEN THOU SEEST THE NAKED, THAT THOU COVER HIM; AND THAT THOU HIDE NOT THYSELF FROM THINE OWN FLESH?
I myself never really did much for anyone apart from research and writing BUT Brit-Am supporters from the Maccabee Institute such as Rabbi Avraham Feld and his brothers dedicate their lives and whole existence to assisting people. They literally do feed the hungry, house the homeless, clothe they who lack clothing, etc.  I met quite a few of the people who were so assisted. You may get some low-lifes among them but the majority are decent people who have fallen on hard times or have adjustment problems. If things were only a little different anyone of us could easily have been in their places.  God has bless us so we should reciprocate when and how  we can.      
 THOU HIDE NOT THYSELF FROM THINE OWN FLESH : Charity begins at home as they say. You have a duty to worry about your spouse, children, parents, etc.  – and yourself.

 [Isaiah 58:8] THEN SHALL THY LIGHT BREAK FORTH AS THE MORNING, AND THINE HEALTH SHALL SPRING FORTH SPEEDILY: AND THY RIGHTEOUSNESS SHALL GO BEFORE THEE; THE GLORY OF THE LORD SHALL BE THY REREWARD.
Do good and goood will come unto you.

 [Isaiah 58:9] THEN SHALT THOU CALL, AND THE LORD SHALL ANSWER; THOU SHALT CRY, AND HE SHALL SAY, HERE I AM. IF THOU TAKE AWAY FROM THE MIDST OF THEE THE YOKE, THE PUTTING FORTH OF THE FINGER, AND SPEAKING VANITY;
Do good and then when and if you ever need help from Above you will receive it.  People who dedicate their lives to the Almighty receive supernatural  intervention on their behalf when needed.

 [Isaiah 58:10] AND IF THOU DRAW OUT THY SOUL TO THE HUNGRY, AND SATISFY THE AFFLICTED SOUL; THEN SHALL THY LIGHT RISE IN OBSCURITY, AND THY DARKNESS BE AS THE NOON DAY:             
What goes round comes round.
Whatever you do you do to yourself.

 [Isaiah 58:11] AND THE LORD SHALL GUIDE THEE CONTINUALLY, AND SATISFY THY SOUL IN DROUGHT, AND MAKE FAT THY BONES: AND THOU SHALT BE LIKE A WATERED GARDEN, AND LIKE A SPRING OF WATER, WHOSE WATERS FAIL NOT.

 [Isaiah 58:12] AND THEY THAT SHALL BE OF THEE SHALL BUILD THE OLD WASTE PLACES: THOU SHALT RAISE UP THE FOUNDATIONS OF MANY GENERATIONS; AND THOU SHALT BE CALLED, THE REPAIRER OF THE BREACH, THE RESTORER OF PATHS TO DWELL IN.        
The destroyed areas  of ancient times will be rebuilt. If you merit to participate in this then you are especially blessed.
You should realize: Not everyone merits to do good deeds. When they come to your realm take hold of them.

 [Isaiah 58:13] IF THOU TURN AWAY THY FOOT FROM THE SABBATH, FROM DOING THY PLEASURE ON MY HOLY DAY; AND CALL THE SABBATH A DELIGHT, THE HOLY OF THE LORD, HONOURABLE; AND SHALT HONOUR HIM, NOT DOING THINE OWN WAYS, NOR FINDING THINE OWN PLEASURE, NOR SPEAKING THINE OWN WORDS:                    
The Sabbath must be kept. It must be dedicated to God. We must take pleasure in this holy day.
Jews keep the Sabbath according to the explanation of the commandments they have traditionally received.
In my personal opinion, non-Jews who wish to keep the Sabbath at this stage should do it in their own way. They should declare that they are keeping the Sabbath because they consider themselves to be of  Israelite origin.
By supporting Brit-Am consciousness of Israelite origin is enhanced.

 [Isaiah 58:14] THEN SHALT THOU DELIGHT THYSELF IN THE LORD; AND I WILL CAUSE THEE TO RIDE UPON THE HIGH PLACES OF THE EARTH, AND FEED THEE WITH THE HERITAGE OF JACOB THY FATHER: FOR THE MOUTH OF THE LORD HATH SPOKEN IT.
If you keep the Sabbath you will be mighty and receive the blessings of the forefather of Israel.  God has promised this to the Children of Israel who keep the Sabbath.
