2. Craig Blackwood: Ephraim or Manasseh, National Qualities Important
From: Craig Blackwood
Subject: USA - Ephraim or Manasseh?

http://britam.org/usa2.html

Shalom Yair

I would like to point out a very obvious reason why Ephraim is bigger than
Manasseh.

One comment you made in the above response was that "Not all America is
Israel. TRUE BUT NOT ALL ISRAEL in America is Manasseh. There would be a
higher ratio of Ephramites in the UK and commonwealth English speaking
nations as apposed to Manassehrites in the US. One must refer to national
traits. The humbleness or RESERVEDNESS Melancholy/Phlegmatic introvert of
EPHRAIM VERSES THE FLAMBOYANT Extrovert sanguine/Cholrice Manassehrite.

3. Clarification on Malbim, Ezekiel 11:18
"Brit-Am Now"-1002
#1. Question on Ezekiel 11:18, Whose idols will be put away??
We said:
The MALBIM explains the verse as we have done, i.e.
the Israelites will return and remove their own abominations.
In the context this could have caused a misunderstanding of what the
Malbim DID say.

The verse said:
[Ezekiel 11:18] AND THEY SHALL COME THITHER, AND THEY SHALL TAKE AWAY
ALL THE DETESTABLE THINGS THEREOF AND ALL THE ABOMINATIONS THEREOF FROM THENCE.
The Malbim divides the verse and its application:
<DETESTABLE THINGS THEREOF:
This applies to the Second Redemption [i.e. the Return from Babylon
under Ezra and Nehemiah]
because then they removed all the detestable things when the Members
of the Great Assembly [precursor to the Sandhedrin] of idolatry
annulled the Temptation to commit idolatry.
<>:
This will be in the Future Redemption since then will be abolished
the temptation to commit
sexual transgressions and all other deviations.

This is somewhat different from our interpretation. We apply the
whole verse to the future
and we say that it is referring to the Future Redemption
and that the "THE DETESTABLE THINGS THEREOF" that will be taken away
are those brought
there by Israelites or for which Israelites will have been
responsible and on this last point our understanding is the same as
that of the Malbim.

It is worth noticing the m\albim Commentary on the previous verse:
[Ezekiel 11:17] THEREFORE SAY, THUS SAITH THE LORD GOD; I WILL EVEN
GATHER YOU FROM THE PEOPLE, AND ASSEMBLE YOU OUT OF THE COUNTRIES
WHERE YE HAVE BEEN SCATTERED, AND I WILL GIVE YOU THE LAND OF
ISRAEL.
Malbim: "In the future God will ingather the Ten Tribes who were in
faraway lands and did not return in the time of the Second Temple".

5. Under the Terebinth Tree
"Brit-Am Now"-1003
#3. Terebinth Tree at Fault?
Dear Yair. Are there still Terebinth trees in Israel.
Thank you.
Johnnie

This is taken from Genesis 35
http://britam.org/Genesis/Gen32to36VaYishlach.html
[Genesis 35:4] AND THEY GAVE UNTO JACOB ALL THE STRANGE GODS WHICH
WERE IN THEIR HAND, AND ALL THEIR EARRINGS WHICH WERE IN THEIR EARS;
AND JACOB HID THEM UNDER THE OAK WHICH WAS BY SHECHEM.
The Druids of Celtic Britain worshipped under oak trees. Is there a
connection?

Note in our version of the King James it says OAK TREE.
We think this is more correct.
The Hebrew says "Ha-Eylah" and in Modern Hebrew
I guess this would be a terebinth whereas an oak is an "alon".
See the Wikipedia article on terebinth
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terebinth
<Scriptures/Tanakh or Old Testament), for example in Isaiah 1:29,
where the Hebrew word "el" or "elim" is often translated as oak or terebinth:>>

This is a subject we should get around to looking into some day.
There are probably quite a few good article out there on the subject.

6. Janice: The Ezekiel question.

From: Janice
Subject: Re: "Brit-Am Now"-1002

My understanding is that HaShem intended to expand His realm on
earth. He created a territory (earth) and a King (Adam) and placed
Adam in the Territory (Kingdom). Earth was to be a reflection of the
Heavenly realm and Adam of Himself.

When a king is in the expansion mode, he sends out his special
representative (ambassador, shalik, emmassary) to colonize an
area. So the shalik (sp) goes into a territory (with all the
authority of the king) like Moses, to announce to the people in
slavery (that outside the Torah) freedom with a new Greater King, in
our case a Shepherd King.

While they are in the territory the Shalik teaches them the kings
ways. At some point in time when the shalik determines they are
ready to be delivered to the Kingdom, he escorts them back and
presents them to the King. So the removal of idols (other customs,
mannerisims, thought, culture) begins in the colonies. Set apart in
the wilderness. When outside the kingdom in the territories the
process begins (the gathering in from the nations) . For example our
small colony in Denver, is in the process of idol removal. When we
are "fit" enough and the time is right we He will "whistle" for us to
be regathered into the Kingdom. Our old ways cannot be a dominant
factor that would influence the new Kingdom.

That is how Israel today is being assimilated out of existence in
it's own land. Strangers who don't adapt to the King's ways; the
Torah. Even if you take the small example of someone from a very
Northern Hemisphere and bring them to the desert; what happens? the
body goes into shock, effects thinking and emotions. We have that in
the Rocky Mountains high above sea level the lowlanders come and get
altitude sickness; sometimes last for 3 weeks. The oxygen is thin;
affects everything. In a Kingdom you wait upon the Lord to call you;
when He thinks it's time. It's the pattern of the Exodus; the next
Exodus will be even greater. The scriptures say He will whistle for
you. Is the "you" total 100% collective; or "yous" as they are
ready. Much is about process and transformation. Koshering a sheep
with a knife not so long a human being whose ancestors were pretty
trief, takes time.

Sometimes we read the scriptures as a big one time even (sometimes
they are) most occured over time.
The creation days (yom) look like a quick one time even, it was
process, time wasn't even counted until the 7th Day like a Grand
Symphony Whooosh! Tad Dah! Life begins in harmony.

7. Janice: Thanks to the Prayers of Judah
Subject: Re: "Brit-Am Now"-1003
[Note: Janice in the letter below is referring to a blessing in a
prayer said three times daily on weekdays by religious Jews
part of which according to the Commentary is a request for the Return
of the Lost Ten Tribes]

I want to express my deepest awe and thankfulness to the Jewish
people who in praying the Amidah, the Eighteen Benedictions, or
Standing Prayers for thousands of years passed down from one
generation to another.

One is thankful to a friend who prays for them to overcome a
particular situation that may last for weeks, months or years. But
for a stranger(s) to pray for the "return" and restoration of a
people they didn't know for 1,000's of years is mindboggling. The
fervent, persistent prayer of a righteous one (a citizen) avails much.

I have thought of prayer as dew, moisture that arises consistently
over time accumulates in the atmosphere, until such time as there is
sufficient weight for the molecules to fall back to earth, answered
prayer. As the faithful have prayed for us to return, it has been as
dew the early rain, and for us to return is as the latter rain.

Though our beloved Judah can't see us now, we exist, and we will be
seen by your heart and not your eyes. Just as Samuel saw the heart of
David and not his stature or age.

Jacob and Rachel had a secret language, this language is the language
of the Torah, when scattered Israel and Judah speak the same intimate
language then they will be united.

I've been a follower of the events in Israel for well since 1996, and
I don't recall any great misgivings over loosing Rachel's
Tomb. Rachel wept because her perception was a miss; not because her
children "were not" they were merely hidden for a time of
preservation. The concealing and revealing are a Torah concept; we
remember it at the Festival of the New Moon. It is said that the
burial places of the patriarchs and matriarchs are the entry way for
the descendants. Rachel do not give up on the return of your
children. The Lord has seen your tears and has kept them in a bottle
for such a time such as this. The evil ones now in temporary
occupation of your macom [place], are as grass that fades, but the
Word of G-d stands forever.

May HShem Be Blessed
for His Great Mercy and Faithfulness
