#1. Question on the expression "House of Israel".
We said:
<<The term "House of Israel" in the Bible can refer to all the Twelve Tribes.
When used in juxtaposition to the "House of Judah" it refers to members of
the northern Kingdom of Israel who became the
Lost Ten Tribes.>>
This observation is pertinent only when applied to the time after the Northern
Ten Tribes had split away.
In which case we have
"House of Israel" the Tribes of Reuben, Issachar, Zebulon, Manasseh, Ephraim,
Dan, Naphtali, Gad, Asher, and Simeon.
Even though Simeon was in the south indications are that politically he was
considered
part of the Northern Kingdom and was taken into exile with them.
"House of Judah" encompasses the Tribes of Judah, Benjamin, most of Levi, and
representative
minorities from the other Tribes.
Nevertheless, we should not forget that even before the separation of the Ten
Tribes
"Israel" and "Judah" are often juxtaposed in which case "Israel" means ALL of
the other
tribes apart from "Judah".
Benjamin was considered at first as part of the House of Joseph.
2-Samuel 19:21
[2-Samuel 19:20] FOR THY SERVANT DOTH KNOW THAT I HAVE SINNED: THEREFORE,
BEHOLD, I AM COME THE FIRST THIS DAY OF ALL THE HOUSE OF JOSEPH TO GO DOWN TO
MEET MY LORD THE KING.
<<THE HOUSE OF JOSEPH>>:
Here Benjamin is included as part of the House of Joseph together with the rest
of Israel as distinct from Judah.
It is still however important to remember as we noted in the previous note
that the terminology must be considered in its context and the appellation
"House of Israel" may not only include "Judah" but in some cases refer only to
Judah.

I find it interesting that the Hebrew word for oak can be translated as "el" or
"elim". Is there any connection that "el" also means of G-d? Could the oak tree
also be symbolic that all idols will be placed under submission of G-d? buried,
put away under the foot of G-d?
When Israel puts away their idols and such, we are doing it with our hearts. We
are replacing what we think in our hearts was important to us in the physical
sense of material things we deem important. Replacing it with spiritual things
of importance such as our intimate relationship with our Father. We put away the
importance of earthly worldly things and replace it with the relationship He
wants with us.
In our Sabbath school this weekend, we are studying Joseph and how his brothrs
were so jealous and hateful of him. It came to me this:
Joseph's dream ----his sons Ephraim and Manasseh, being the U.S. and GB, are
even today the powers that go to the aid of those in trouble throughout the
world.
Joseph's coat of many colors was stripped from him. His identity taken away to
be hidden for times. his coat of many colors represents the blessings of many
nations through him as told to Abraham. The coat of many colors representing
the colors of many nations included in the blessings and how the U.S. is the
"melting pot". Many nations or peoples seek prosperity and safety in the U.S.
Those that are of the other tribes of Israel along with those of other nations.
...not all Israel is Israel and not all Gentiles are Gentiles. The nations have
mixed as told in Hosea. So it is that even in the Gentile nations, we have
children of Israel. Just as in Israel we have children of Gentiles. There is
dark and light everywhere and we have to discern through the gift of our Father
their hearts and not by their heritage on the outside, who they are.
