Dear Yair,
Perhaps the CIA should read the Bible and find out what is really going to happen (i. e. Ezekiel 38-39).  We so called "Gentiles" have been grafted in to the Fig Tree, and we are grateful to G-d for it.
The United States is in trouble right now:
(1.     We have an Arab speaking, Islam sympathetic, president who is soft on terrorism
(2.     We have a President who will not (in my opinion) make it a full four year term
(3.     We have a ready-to-rampage Russian/Soviet Union rebirth and a growing in confidence Arab bloc, slobbering to get at Israel (they should be careful what they slobber over and want to get at) (4.  We have a spiraling economy and an administration that thinks it can borrow its way out of debt
(5.     We have the largest tax bill in the history of the nation
(6.     We have a society that is sliding toward the abyss morally and spiritually
(7.     And last but not least, we have a war on terror on multiple fronts and are anticipating a major attack within 2 years
Thank G-d that He is faithful even when we are not.  I think Israel (Judah) may have to bail out (Ephraim) the Western democracies.

I think the CIA should look closer to home. The USA might no survive ten more years with one trillion dolor budgets each year as forecast by the Obama administration. Of course I know that one half of that figure comes from the Social Security pay role tax. Which goes into the general fund the government uses to finance it's

What you say about Facebook is exactly what I say about Facebook. 
I, too, was persuaded to join it, and I don't like it.  Yeah, I suppose if we took the time to figure it out, we might use it.  But I don't feel so inclined right now.

5. Walt Baucom: Atlantis, Discovered at Last?
 
            Plato's Atlantis has whetted the intellectual appetites of people for ages, and Hollywood producers have made fortunes with sensationalized and romanticized, but wholly unrealistic, versions of it gleaned from no one knows where.  Although described as the greatest enigma of world history, we now know that the "riddle of Atlantis" is no such thing, as verified by archaeology and new interpretations of ancient histories. 
            Idaho writer Walt Baucum has researched this conundrum and found the real riddle is not where the realm of Atlantis lay, nor when its island capital sank beneath the sea, but rather that almost no writer has found, or even looked for, the key that the text of the tale itself repeatedly offers: the story as told by Egyptian priests to Solon, who brought it back to Greece, was derived from original records contained in ancient Egyptian temple inscriptions and papyrus texts.   
            "Bronze Age Atlantis, the International Nautical Empire of the Sea Peoples" shows, among many other historical facts, that the events recounted to Solon by the priests could not have happened 9000 years earlier, for none of the things contained in the narrative existed at that time.  There were no Egyptian state, temples with inscriptions, and papyrus texts.  The Nile Valley was then uninhabited: the first few remains in the area date from the 6th to 5th millennia BCE and were found on the heights nearby.  Nor were there Libyans in western Egypt: they appeared for the first time in the records of Merneptah in c. 1227 BCE.  Greece did not exist, nor did the city of Athens; there was no citadel on the Acropolis, no temple to Athena and Hephaestus, no city wall, all these being mentioned in the story.
            The author shows that what the priests told Solon, drawing on the past history of their country, was the story of the dreadful invasions by the Sea Peoples that were repulsed by King Ramessis III (1200-1168 BCE).  All the relevant data indicate the decades just before and after 1200 BCE.
            Atlantis was not some esoteric "Garden of Eden" replete with solar or plant energy, death-rays, star gates, and laser beams, but rather a vast oceanic maritime trading empire based on metal-gathering and complete control of the Bronze Age in the Atlantic and Mediterranean areas for a thousand years.  The reader will glimpse not only at their pursuit of gold, silver, tin, copper, ivory, and amber, but also the intercontinental sources of these trade goods.  The book (replete with illustrations, index, glossary, bibliography, etc.) gives the reader a much greater understanding of the Bronze Age, who the true "Atlanteans" who controlled it were, where their island capital was located, and why it collapsed in 1200 BCE.
