My grandfather came from limerick Ireland.
His name was Patrick Boland. I have always identified myself with Israel and have always have had a deep love
for her people. Is it possible that I have a Jewish connection?

Brit-Am Reply:
We distinguish between "Jewish" and "Israelite" from the Lost Ten
Tribes.
On the one hand many Irish have slightly anti-Semitic inclinations
and some of the most rabid Jew-haters come from them.
On the other hand however we also find frequently cases where individuals of
Irish descent
identify very strongly, sometimes completely, with the Jewish People.
Whatever the relative proportions may be there definitely exists a strong
Israelite element amongst the
Irish possibly from Judah as well as from such tribes as Dan, Naphtali, Simeon,
Ephraim, and Manasseh.
Other "Israelite" peoples may have far less anti-Semites but they also do not
produce
so many examples of a close instinctive identification with the Jews.
