1. Moderating the List, Just for the Record, and the last words of Ned Kelly.
Here and there a few lone voices have been raised about our de facto moderating what
subjects will be dealt with on this list.
The Brit-Am List is heavily moderated. It was never meant to be anything else.
Most of our subscribers prefer it this way and some even consider the present administration
a little too "liberal" with the Posts it lets get by.

At all events we can sympathize with those who may send in Posts on certain subjects and not merit to
see them posted out.
I myself am subscribed to several e-mail discussion groups mainly in order to keep abreast of latest developments
and to learn things.
Here and there however I have posted to the said lists and even though I was not abusive
(as far as I recall) or anything and all kinds of postings are usually allowed I have been blackballed!
They still send me mail but refuse to post out anything emanating from my augustus self.
One of the lists in question is concerned with Biblical History.
The other  deals with DNA.
I am not sure what my crime is.
Maybe it is because I declare my belief in the Bible?
Maybe they just do not like me?
If I had the time and a little less dignity I might consider writing to ask them.

This brings us to the philosophical side of life and the wild life and adventures of Ned Kelly.
Ned Kelly (1855-1880) was a famous "bushranger" or bandit in Australia and became something of
a folk hero. His range of activity encompassed regions I spend part of my childhood in.
see:
http://www.ironoutlaw.com/
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ned_Kelly
[He looks like a few schoolmates of mine but then don't we all?].
Anyway the troopers surrounded the homestead Ned and his gang were holed up in, lit fires and smoked them out.
Ned came out shooting away and wrapped in bullet-proof armour he had designed especially for such an occasion.
The armour however did not reach all the way to the ground and the troopers shot him in the legs.
Ned was captured, tired, and sentenced to be hanged by the neck.
The last words of Ned are reported to have been, "Such is life".

2. The Questionaire A.10
A. 10. What do you consider the strongest point of Brit-Am?
For extracts from the answers see:
http://www.britam.org/Survey.html#10What

Summary and Intermediate Conclusions to Question A.10:
People appreciated the application of Biblical Proofs and verses to points adduced. The general level of scholarship and historical research were much valued. The attitude and personality of Yair were spoken well of. Our uniqueness in personal background, along with the general Brit-Am presentation and the potential of Brit-Am are favorably regarded.

3. Correction: "Information inundation" was given as a plus!
re "Brit-Am Now"-997
#1. Answers to Brit-Am Questionnaire no.A. 9
We had "too much information" listed as one of the "weakest points in the Brit-Am presentation"
and in the extracts on our site we had "Information inundation" as one of these points.
This was a mistake.
"Information inundation" was actually given by one of the respondents as the "strongest point".
We had misread an answer to A.10 as being in A.9

4. Rabbis who agree with Brit-Am?
Yair,
I would like to have a list of the Rabbis, past and present, who
acknowledge the "lost" tribes as you and I do, and I would like to have
their quotes.
Do you have such or know where I can find such?

Answer:
The only quotes we can give you are obtainable from our writings.
e.g. see our commentary to Obadiah 1:20
http://britam.org/obadiah.html
These quotations often need Brit-Am confirmation and support,
e.g. Rashi on Obadiah says that the Ten Tribes are in "France".
A French-language periodical quoted Rashi and interpreted him to mean
that the Lost Ten Tribes became the European Jews who were centered in
France before moving westwards.
One would need the Brit-Am explanation together with the additional supplementary quotations from
Rabbinical authorities that we adduce to show that not only Rashi but others (such as Nachmanides)
understood the verse as placing the Ten Tribes in the west
and that the intention was to the who were "lost" and not the Jews per se.

5. Lost Israelite Identity has not been revised!
There appears to have been a misunderstanding regarding
the offering to sale of
"Lost Israelite Identity"
http://www.britam.org/Identity.html
Copies of Lost Israelite Identity now being offered are NOT a revised book.
They are mint (still in brand new condition) copies of the work that was published and
printed in 1996. These copies had originally been sent overseas and now a limited number have been re-acquired
by us and it is these we are offering for sale.
