1. Apology:
I wish to apologize for not providing
more Biblical and research postings
of late.
This is still the most important aspect
of our work and what we should
still be most concerned with.
2. Some good people have adopted misleading
notions as to what we are about
or should be about as the following
letter shows
and to which we reply. This attitude
is counter-productive and is liable to
cause all of us damage.
Please read the reply.
BRIT-AM REPRESENTS JUDAH AND ISRAEL
BRIT-AM IS WORKING TO RE-UNITE JUDAH
WITH ISRAEL AND ISRAEL WITH JUDAH
WE NEED TO CONVINCE BOTH SIDES
The emphasis at this time must still
remain on "Joseph"
In order to convince "Judah" we will
need an initiative from "Joseph"
and the burden of proof still is dependent
on "Joseph".
Brit-Am represents you. Enable us to
work and do what we can.
Despite whatever shortcomings we may
have, we are still the first in the
field and we are endeavoring to
push forward.
In warfare a soldier who runs away
from battle or a soldier who impetuously
charges forward when
he and his fellows should hold back
can be equally dangerous to his own side.
Joseph revealed himself to his brothers.
Joseph still needs to reveal himself
more to Judah.
The recent and past support
of the USA and especially the support of
evangelical Christians and the like
for
a strong State of Israel is going a
long way towards the cause of "Joseph"
in the eyes of Judah.
Brit-Am and the support it receives
is also doing something in the right
direction but not enough.
Before Joseph can reveal himself to
Judah he must be more aware of he is,
that he is Joseph and not somebody
else.
The Bible says that Judah approached
Joseph and then Joseph revealed himself.
We need movement and awareness to be
aroused on both sides.
From: G
Subject: Deut. 30:1-6, and Maimonides.
Dear Yair,
Re: Malcum Osborne post.
I was at a Sukkot Festival in Oklahoma
in 2001. Eddy Chumney was a speaker
there. His presentation topic was the
return of the Ten Lost Tribes. In his
presentation he supposedly read from
the writings of Maimonides concerning
Deut. 30:1-6, wherein Maimonides said
that to reject the teaching of that
portion of the Torah (Deut. 30:1-6)
was to reject the entire Torah.
I do not posess a copy of Maimonides'
writings, can you verify the above
remarks. For if that is true, how can
the Israeli Authorities reject
non-Jewish Torah Observant, people
who love Israel and the Jewish People,
from moving to Israel?
How does one generate dialogue based
on what a person does (keep Torah)
which shows their true belief; as opposed
to only what a person says they
believe, which doesn't necessarily
generate any actions. If both Judah and
Ephraim are to be Observant when Messiah
comes, how then can we better
learn Torah that to do it together.
Zechariah 8:23-24 (NASB); Thus says the
Lord of hosts, "In those days ten men
from all the nations (Ephraim ?) will
grasp the garment (zitzit) of a Jew
saying, "Let us go with you, for we
have heard that G-d is with you."'"
In this passage it seems that G-d is
showing the line of instruction, because
Ephraim had forsaken Torah, but is
now repenting and returning to Torah
(Ezek. 37:23) and seeking the help of
their Jewish brothers.
As with Mr. Osborne my wife and I have
no others of like persuasion in our
area to fellowship with. Therefore,
we observe Shabbat and the Festivals by
ourselves with the exception of Passover
where we travel to Dallas to keep
the feast with our six children, their
spouses and our our 11 grand children.
May our G-d continue to protect you
and give you peace in this time.
Please, continue the work we all need
your knowledge and insight.

Eddy Chumney is a friend and supporter
of ours but he has his own agenda
that may have allowed him to divert
from
our principles or he may have been
misunderstood and misquoted.
Eddy Chumney enabled us to publish
our last two books, "Joseph" and the
revised edition of "Ephraim".
Eddy has also said that when the Hebrew
version of our work is ready for
printing that his organization
will partially assist us
to publish it. Eddy is very active
at present in presenting our case. His
presentation of our views up until
now, as far as we know, has always been
a good and understanding one.
Eddy spent many hours in Israel with
Rabbi Avraham Feld and with Yair
Davidiy and stayed at my house for
more than a week.
Eddy (if he has been properly quoted)
did not receive his understanding of
Maimonides from us.
Not Yair Davidiy, Brit-Am, not Eddy
Chumney, nor anybody else, can put the
onus at this stage on
the Rabbinical establishment.
We should not necessarily concern ourselves
with establishing '"dialogue"
between Judah and Joseph at this stage.
Rather we should each begin to make
ourselves truly aware of Biblical
"Brit-Am" truth.
Spread the word to your family and
neighbors. Assist Brit-Am to spread the
message.
The onus is still on "Joseph". Nevertheless,
please understand us properly
and read on.
For those who may not know, Who was
Maimonides?
Maimonides ("Rambam", 1135-1204). Born
in Muslim Spain, he was one of the
greatest Jewish legal authorities and
religious philosophers. Maimonides
moved to North Africa, then to Egypt.
He served as personal physician to
Saladin, King of Egypt. He was offered
a post by Richard-I of England but
refused it.
His legal work summarizes most of the
Rabbinical literature extant in his
day concerning the practical application
of the Law. His decisions are not
necessarily always legally binding
from a Rabbinical point of view but they
are taken into account.
From the point of view of pure
literature his style of expression was very
powerful and should be considered inspired.
Maimonides says that to reject any portion
of the Torah is to reject it
all. Maimonides understands the Torah
as not to allow
any kind of Christian belief. Maimonides
says that those who wish to be
recognized as "Kosher" Israelites (even
if born Jewish) must accept ALL of
the Law and not just bits and pieces
and they must accept it according to
how the Rabbis interpret it.
That is what Maimonides says.
This is not what we say.
You may disagree with what Maimonides
says but you should not quote him as
supporting claims that are the opposite
of what he stood for.
You have been mislead or you have misunderstood
whatever you were being
told concerning Maimonides.
For all I know you may meet all, or
most of the criteria, but others do not.
Deut. 30:1-6 is talking about Israelites
as a whole and about how GOD will
relate to those who turn back to HIM.
Deuteronomy speaks to both Judah and
Joseph as nations.
Judah and Joseph are both two halves
of the Israelite nation.
[Deuteronomy 30:1] AND IT SHALL COME
TO PASS, WHEN ALL THESE THINGS ARE
COME UPON THEE, THE BLESSING AND THE
CURSE, WHICH I HAVE SET BEFORE THEE,
AND THOU SHALT CALL THEM TO MIND AMONG
ALL THE NATIONS, WHITHER THE LORD
THY GOD HATH DRIVEN THEE,
[Deuteronomy 30:2] AND SHALT RETURN
UNTO THE LORD THY GOD, AND SHALT OBEY
HIS VOICE ACCORDING TO ALL THAT I COMMAND
THEE THIS DAY, THOU AND THY
CHILDREN, WITH ALL THINE HEART, AND
WITH ALL THY SOUL;
[Deuteronomy 30:3] THAT THEN THE LORD
THY GOD WILL TURN THY CAPTIVITY, AND
HAVE COMPASSION UPON THEE, AND WILL
RETURN AND GATHER THEE FROM ALL THE
NATIONS, WHITHER THE LORD THY GOD HATH
SCATTERED THEE.
[Deuteronomy 30:4] IF ANY OF THINE BE
DRIVEN OUT UNTO THE OUTMOST PARTS OF
HEAVEN, FROM THENCE WILL THE LORD THY
GOD GATHER THEE, AND FROM THENCE WILL
HE FETCH THEE:
[Deuteronomy 30:5] AND THE LORD THY
GOD WILL BRING THEE INTO THE LAND WHICH
THY FATHERS POSSESSED, AND THOU
SHALT POSSESS IT; AND HE WILL DO THEE
GOOD, AND MULTIPLY THEE ABOVE THY FATHERS.
[Deuteronomy 30:6] AND THE LORD THY
GOD WILL CIRCUMCISE THINE HEART, AND
THE HEART OF THY SEED, TO LOVE THE
LORD THY GOD WITH ALL THINE HEART, AND
WITH ALL THY SOUL, THAT THOU MAYEST
LIVE.
Please read "Brit-Am Now no. 115" carefully.
Prove first that you are Joseph.
What you are trying to say that is
that since you evidently feel you are of
Israelite descent,
and keep some of the commandments as
you think they should be kept
then the Rabbis in Israel should accept
you in the same way as they accept
someone who is Jewish.
This can cause us harm. It is not good
for Brit-Am and it is not good for you.
Please note before we go anywhere:
It is not enough to feel in your heart
that you are Jewish or Israelite
whether because you have read Brit-Am
literature,
or because of Ed Chumney, or your inner
instincts told you so, or because
you love the Jewish people
and identify with them, or because
of some other reason,.
This is not enough. It would not be
enough for you yourself, or your family
and neighbors, in other circumstances.
Why should it be enough for the Rabbis?
You must have some proof OR you must
have some communal legal
declaration, or attitude that
the rabbis can work from.
Brit-Am is working to provide what
is necessary.
The rabbis are human beings and must
be approached as such.
They bear great responsibility and
we must recognize this.
How would you act in their place?
Judah will recognize the truth of Joseph
when the time comes and when
Joseph himself is more able
to give expression to his own origin.
Is Joseph ready? Perhaps Judah is more
prepared than you think?
Perhaps Joseph is the one who still
wishes to hold himself back?
How well is Joseph really aware of
who he is?
I repeat, perhaps Judah is more prepared
than you think?
Judah is more susceptible than Joseph.
Judah in many respects is endangered
and therefore is justified in
remaining cautious.
"Joseph" is more than a handful of
Brit-Am supporters and similarly minded
people.
Brit-Am must grow and should be enabled
tom prove itself, for your sake and
the sake of
Biblical truth.
We have to provide evidence and to show
the truth.
We have to get the message out to both
sides. This is the first step.
There are other steps involved and
we are beginning to realize what
these are and to work towards
them.
WHAT PROOF DO WE REALLY HAVE?
We have Biblical evidence that is quite
strong, especially when taken
together with relevant indications
in Rabbinical literature.
This evidence must be placed in the
public domain, read through, and made
widely known.
It is convincing but it is not necessarily
enough in itself.
Nevertheless when imparted to enough
people the Biblical evidence can go a
long way towards
creating an open and sympathetic attitude.
The Bible is the truth and Brit-Am
is in accordance with the Bible.
If nothing else, this is what God has
given us and this can carry us through
and this must be our emphasis.
In addition we have historical and related
evidence that is not (at this stage)
academically accepted but does approach
the boundaries of academic
acceptability.
In other words from a purely academic
point of view we may not have proven
that it was as we say
but we have shown that according to
the evidence it could have been.
This is enough but the more we can
strengthen this point, the better.
And this point can be strengthened.
The evidence is there and only needs to
be revealed.
If you are part of "Joseph" then your
emphasis should be more on arousing
Joseph to his origins.
Brit-Am is concerned with revealing
the origins of Joseph to both Joseph
himself and to Judah.
Help Brit-Am.
Our aim is to do the will of the Almighty
as revealed in the Bible.
If we go with the Bible we should reach
our destination.
