With your permission Yair, a couple of observations.

My comment on this first question is that I absolutely agree with you Yair,
that those covenantal promises were and remain unconditional.

What I would like to add however, is as follows.

I have recently been made aware from the writings of an Anglican chaplain,
that the reason that the Jewish people have had such a hard time of it, is
because they are under the curses contained within Torah for not walking
within God's covenant. Not because they have been rejected or replaced, but
because they are Still, God's people and God's covenantal promises [and
curses] remain in operation.

When I read that, it made sense as nothing else has done. For a rejected/
forgotten people, should be just another nation, Not getting such attention
from powers of darkness!

Also,

David M. wrote [BritAm 223]
Yair
the above part of a response you supplied for another individual writing in
to you is perhaps singularly the hardest part of the Brit-Am message for me
to accept--not that G-d forbid I am challenging you.
Being brought up with all the notions of an obedient Judah obeying the
Torah as a prerequisite for G-d's protection throughout the diaspora, was
all very consistent with what I learned in the Bible about the same
relationship between ancient Israel and G-d. As a Jew I am psychologically
so "used" to the idea of a decimated history as a result of swaying form
the path that it is hard for me to imagine part of a covenantal people
whose obligations were temporarily suspended to fulfill their historical
destiny independent of their covenantal obligations. That is why in this
sense it is easier to accept the notion of the Amerindians theories as
prime components of the lost tribes, since they have indeed been decimated,
and have had genocide practiced on them , not dissimilar to the Jews.

Here is a valid comment to Johaida's other questions, to which I would add
the following. As the descendants of the House of Israel come into an
understanding of who they are, a lack of repentance, will bring about the
judgements of HaShem. They won't escape!

Jeremiah 30:4-7 says this:

Now these are the words that the Lord spoke concerning Israel and Judah.
"For thus says the Lord:
'We have heard a voice of trembling,
Of fear, and not of peace.
Ask now, and see,
Whether a man is ever in labor with child?
So why do I see every man with his hands on his loins
Like a woman in labor,
And all faces turned pale?
Alas! For that day is great,
So that none is like it;
And it is the time of Jacob's trouble,
But he shall be saved out of it.

The Holy Bible, New King James Version, (Nashville, Tennessee: Thomas
Nelson, Inc.) 1982.

A time of JACOB'S Trouble!

I suspect that what the House of Judah has suffered, is not Jacob's trouble,
at least not in its entirety, for it looks as if the rest of Israel will
also experience anguish, before the fulfilment of that wonderful promise
found in the next chapter - verse 31 onwards:

"Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant
with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah-

May That day soon come

2. Remember the Brit-Am Commentary to Jeremiah 51?
[Jeremiah 51:19] THE PORTION OF JACOB IS NOT LIKE THEM; FOR HE IS THE
FORMER OF ALL THINGS: AND ISRAEL IS THE ROD OF HIS INHERITANCE: THE LORD OF
HOSTS IS HIS NAME.

[Jeremiah 51:20] THOU ART MY BATTLE AXE AND WEAPONS OF WAR: FOR WITH THEE
WILL I BREAK IN PIECES THE NATIONS, AND WITH THEE WILL I DESTROY KINGDOMS;
Some said that Jeremiah is referring to the Medes as the battle-axof God
but according to the similar meaning he is referring to Israel.
Israel is the tool God uses to break and make nations. To the degree that
this prophecy was to be fulfilled before the Messianic Era then it could
only have been fulfilled by the Lost Ten Tribes. The Lost Ten Tribes of
Israel could therefore only be found amongst a people or peoples who were
powerful on the international scene, preferably the most powerful. This is
another proof confirming our Brit-Am identifications.

[Jeremiah 51:21] AND WITH THEE WILL I BREAK IN PIECES THE HORSE AND HIS
RIDER; AND WITH THEE WILL I BREAK IN PIECES THE CHARIOT AND HIS
RIDER;
[Jeremiah 51:22] WITH THEE ALSO WILL I BREAK IN PIECES MAN AND WOMAN; AND
WITH THEE WILL I BREAK IN PIECES OLD AND YOUNG; AND WITH THEE WILL I BREAK
IN PIECES THE YOUNG MAN AND THE MAID;
[Jeremiah 51:23] I WILL ALSO BREAK IN PIECES WITH THEE THE SHEPHERD AND HIS
FLOCK; AND WITH THEE WILL I BREAK IN PIECES THE HUSBANDMAN AND HIS YOKE OF
OXEN; AND WITH THEE WILL I BREAK IN PIECES CAPTAINS AND
RULERS.
[Jeremiah 51:24] AND I WILL RENDER UNTO BABYLON AND TO ALL THE INHABITANTS
OF CHALDEA ALL THEIR EVIL THAT THEY HAVE DONE IN ZION IN YOUR SIGHT, SAITH
THE LORD.
