THE RACES OF BRITAIN AND THE PLACE OF THE PICTS AMONG THEM.
In the Albanic Duan, which seems to have belonged to some collection of

ethnological traditions of Scotland, the brothers Brittus and Albanus
appear as the eponymi of the two Celtic races inhabiting respectively
Britain and Alban, or Scotland. Thus--

3. Jeremiah 31.
JEREMIAH 31 AND THE LOST TEN TRIBES
Jeremiah chapter 31 contains several important messages pertaining to
theme of this work. The Commentary below deals with some of them.
[Jeremiah 31:1] AT THE SAME TIME, SAITH THE LORD, WILL I BE THE GOD OF
THE FAMILIES OF ISRAEL, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE.
This is referring to the time of reconciliation when God will once
acknowledge the Lost Ten Tribes as HIS people and they will return and
[Jeremiah 31:2] THUS SAITH THE LORD, THE PEOPLE WHICH WERE LEFT OF THE
SWORD FOUND GRACE IN THE WILDERNESS; EVEN ISRAEL, WHEN I WENT TO CAUSE
Isaac Abarbanel (1435-1509): <<The prophecy from the expression FOUND
IN THE WILDERNESS (31:2) to HEAR THE WORD OF THE LORD, O YE NATIONS
with the Future Redemption. It may be divided into three parts: (1)
its beginning till the end of [Jeremiah 31:22] speaks of the
the Ten Tribes and their return to settle in their land, (2) The second
part from [Jeremiah 31:23] THUS SAITH THE LORD OF HOSTS, THE GOD OF
AS YET THEY SHALL USE THIS SPEECH IN THE LAND OF JUDAH till the end of
(31:26) speaks of the Redemption of Judah. (3) The third part from
[Jeremiah 31:27] BEHOLD, THE DAYS COME, SAITH THE LORD, THAT I WILL SOW
HOUSE OF ISRAEL AND THE HOUSE OF JUDAH till the end of (31:37) speaks
the unification of the two kingdoms of Israel and Judah.>>
[Jeremiah 31:3] THE LORD HATH APPEARED OF OLD UNTO ME, SAYING, YEA, I
LOVED THEE WITH AN EVERLASTING LOVE: THEREFORE WITH LOVINGKINDNESS HAVE
[Jeremiah 31:4] AGAIN I WILL BUILD THEE, AND THOU SHALT BE BUILT, O
OF ISRAEL: THOU SHALT AGAIN BE ADORNED WITH THY TABRETS, AND SHALT GO
IN THE DANCES OF THEM THAT MAKE MERRY.
[Jeremiah 31:5] THOU SHALT YET PLANT VINES UPON THE MOUNTAINS OF
THE PLANTERS SHALL PLANT, AND SHALL EAT THEM AS COMMON
[Jeremiah 31:6] FOR THERE SHALL BE A DAY, THAT THE WATCHMEN UPON THE
EPHRAIM SHALL CRY, ARISE YE, AND LET US GO UP TO ZION UNTO THE LORD OUR
The Lost Ten Tribes from the "Mountain" of Ephraim will decide to
Zion and to their God, the God of their fathers, i.e. the God of
Menachem Buleh ("Daat Mikra") points out when the Northern Ten Tribes

According to tradition the last King of Northern

prophesying that the Lost Ten Tribes in the latter Times would be
Christians prior to their return.
[Jeremiah 31:7] FOR THUS SAITH THE LORD; SING WITH GLADNESS FOR
AND SHOUT AMONG THE CHIEF OF THE NATIONS: PUBLISH YE, PRAISE YE, AND
LORD, SAVE THY PEOPLE, THE REMNANT OF ISRAEL.
[Jeremiah 31:8] BEHOLD, I WILL BRING THEM FROM THE NORTH COUNTRY, AND
GATHER THEM FROM THE COASTS OF THE EARTH, AND WITH THEM THE BLIND AND
LAME, THE WOMAN WITH CHILD AND HER THAT TRAVAILETH WITH CHILD TOGETHER:
GREAT COMPANY SHALL RETURN THITHER.
"FROM THE NORTH COUNTRY": Most of the Lost Ten Tribes
be in the North, i.e. "BUT, THE LORD LIVETH, THAT BROUGHT UP THE
OF ISRAEL FROM THE LAND OF THE NORTH, AND FROM ALL THE LANDS WHITHER HE
DRIVEN THEM: AND I WILL BRING THEM AGAIN INTO THEIR LAND THAT I GAVE
THEIR FATHERS" [Jeremiah 16:15]. They will be mostly to the North of
Land of Israel but also in other places. The "North" means Northern
and North America. The Lost Ten Tribes will also be ingathered "FROM
COASTS OF THE EARTH" [Jeremiah 31:8]. The word translated as "COASTS"
Hebrew is "Yarctei" meaning literally thighs. Buleh points out that
word is synonymous with "ends of the earth". It was prophesied
that the Lost Tribes would be in the "ends" or geographical extremities

Europe, Scandinavia, Britain, North America, Australia, South Africa.

earth" (Genesis 33:13, Isaiah 41:8,9,13). This expression too in
times could relate to northern regions:
<<In innumerable places Egyptian, Hebrew, Babylonian,
Greek, and Latin writings refer to the most northerly lands as 'the
the earth'>> (SPANUTH p. 28).
[Jeremiah 31:9] THEY SHALL COME WITH WEEPING, AND WITH SUPPLICATIONS
LEAD THEM: I WILL CAUSE THEM TO WALK BY THE RIVERS OF WATERS IN A
WAY, WHEREIN THEY SHALL NOT STUMBLE: FOR I AM A FATHER TO ISRAEL, AND
EPHRAIM IS MY FIRSTBORN.
God will return and acknowledge the Lost Ten Tribes as His people
Judah. This will be known to all. The Lost Ten Tribes will no longer be

KEEP HIM, AS A SHEPHERD DOTH HIS FLOCK.
[Jeremiah 31:11] FOR THE LORD HATH REDEEMED JACOB, AND RANSOMED HIM
THE HAND OF HIM THAT WAS STRONGER THAN HE.
Notice the linkage of North Country, coasts of the earth, Israel,
and "Isles afar off".
[Jeremiah 31:12] THEREFORE THEY SHALL COME AND SING IN THE HEIGHT OF
AND SHALL FLOW TOGETHER TO THE GOODNESS OF THE LORD, FOR WHEAT, AND FOR
WINE, AND FOR OIL, AND FOR THE YOUNG OF THE FLOCK AND OF THE HERD: AND
THEIR SOUL SHALL BE AS A WATERED GARDEN; AND THEY SHALL NOT SORROW ANY
[Jeremiah 31:13] THEN SHALL THE VIRGIN REJOICE IN THE DANCE, BOTH
MEN AND OLD TOGETHER: FOR I WILL TURN THEIR MOURNING INTO JOY, AND WILL
COMFORT THEM, AND MAKE THEM REJOICE FROM THEIR SORROW.
[Jeremiah 31:14] AND I WILL SATIATE THE SOUL OF THE PRIESTS WITH
AND MY PEOPLE SHALL BE SATISFIED WITH MY GOODNESS, SAITH THE
Jeremiah (31:15-17) below speaks of Rachel, the mother

Neither were they re-united with Judah. They lost their Identity. In
End Times they will return.
[Jeremiah 31:16] THUS SAITH THE LORD; REFRAIN THY VOICE FROM WEEPING,
THINE EYES FROM TEARS: FOR THY WORK SHALL BE REWARDED, SAITH THE LORD;
THEY SHALL COME AGAIN FROM THE LAND OF THE ENEMY.
[Jeremiah 31:17] AND THERE IS HOPE IN THINE END, SAITH THE LORD, THAT
CHILDREN SHALL COME AGAIN TO THEIR OWN BORDER.
The Tribes of Israel will return to the inheritances of their
Malbim: << AND THERE IS HOPE IN THINE END: There is hope for the Last
in the End Time. THY CHILDREN SHALL COME AGAIN TO THEIR OWN BORDER:
that even though the Lost Ten Tribes who were exiled will not return
themselves, their descendants in the End Time will return to their
boundary. Here it does not say they will return from THE LAND OF THE
[as it does for Judah in Jeremiah 31:16 above] for the Ten Tribes are
in the Land of the enemy but they dwell alone in a land faraway from
boundary. They will return at the last to their border.>>
[Jeremiah 31:18] I HAVE SURELY HEARD EPHRAIM BEMOANING HIMSELF THUS;
HAST CHASTISED ME, AND I WAS CHASTISED, AS A BULLOCK UNACCUSTOMED TO
YOKE: TURN THOU ME, AND I SHALL BE TURNED; FOR THOU ART THE LORD MY
The word used for "young bull" (i.e. "bullock") in
is "AEGEL". Historically this very name "Aegel" was a diminutive
nickname) for the ethnic term "Angle". The Angles gave England (i.e.
"Angle-land") its name. Together with the Saxons, Jutes, Vandals, and
others the Angles conquered from the Celts the land that was later
England. The Angles were also called "Aegels". The appellations

to Ephraim. "Aegel" was also an alternative form of the name "Angle"
applied to the English. The English now nickname themselves "John

English (Angles) are to be identified with Ephraim.
Ephraim shall return. The process of return, it is
inferred, will begin when a feeling of the need for repentance will
begin to be aroused. This feeling will make itself felt in great

BOWELS ARE TROUBLED FOR HIM; I WILL SURELY HAVE MERCY UPON HIM, SAITH
<<EPHRAIM MY DEAR SON. Rabbi Yehoshua ben Levi said: [the word
means] someone who grew up in a palace [i.e. a noble]. Rabbi Yehoshua
Nachman said: [the word "Ephraim" means] a master and governor. >>
This Midrash refers to the fact that the very name "Ephraim" connotes
nobility [whereas "Menasseh" connotes representative Accountable
Democracy]. Ephraim dominates Britain and Menasseh is prevalent in the
Ephraim (nobility, the aristocratic principle of government) still
in Britain whereas the democratic Principle is paramount in the USA.
[Jeremiah 31:21] SET THEE UP WAYMARKS, MAKE THEE HIGH HEAPS: SET THINE
HEART TOWARD THE HIGHWAY, EVEN THE WAY WHICH THOU WENTEST: TURN AGAIN,
VIRGIN OF ISRAEL, TURN AGAIN TO THESE THY CITIES.
Abarbanel: <<The prophet therefore spoke concerning the Kingdom of
[of the Ten Tribes] SET THEE UP WAYMARKS saying that when you go into
make signs by the routes and waymarks like piles of rocks [i.e. cairns]
stone monuments [Hebrew: Matzavah, i.e. dolmen] so that you may set
heart to the route and remember in order that you may return in the way
went in, return to your city.>> The Radak (Kimchi) interprets the
like manner as intending dolmens and cairns. The verse (Jeremiah 31:21)
refers to dolmens and other Megalithic monuments These form a
link between Israel, Britain, West France, and Scandinavia. The verse
effects links "dolmens" with "Ephraim".
[Jeremiah 31:22] HOW LONG WILT THOU GO ABOUT, O THOU BACKSLIDING
FOR THE LORD HATH CREATED A NEW THING IN THE EARTH, A WOMAN SHALL

[Jeremiah 31:24] AND THERE SHALL DWELL IN JUDAH ITSELF, AND IN ALL THE
CITIES THEREOF TOGETHER, HUSBANDMEN, AND THEY THAT GO FORTH WITH
[Jeremiah 31:25] FOR I HAVE SATIATED THE WEARY SOUL, AND I HAVE
EVERY SORROWFUL SOUL.
[Jeremiah 31:26] UPON THIS I AWAKED, AND BEHELD; AND MY SLEEP WAS SWEET
[Jeremiah 31:27] BEHOLD, THE DAYS COME, SAITH THE LORD, THAT I WILL SOW
HOUSE OF ISRAEL AND THE HOUSE OF JUDAH WITH THE SEED OF MAN, AND WITH
SEED OF BEAST.
[Jeremiah 31:28] AND IT SHALL COME TO PASS, THAT LIKE AS I HAVE WATCHED
OVER THEM, TO PLUCK UP, AND TO BREAK DOWN, AND TO THROW DOWN, AND TO
DESTROY, AND TO AFFLICT; SO WILL I WATCH OVER THEM, TO BUILD, AND TO
SAITH THE LORD.
[Jeremiah 31:29] IN THOSE DAYS THEY SHALL SAY NO MORE, THE FATHERS
EATEN A SOUR GRAPE, AND THE CHILDREN'S TEETH ARE SET ON
[Jeremiah 31:30] BUT EVERY ONE SHALL DIE FOR HIS OWN INIQUITY: EVERY
THAT EATETH THE SOUR GRAPE, HIS TEETH SHALL BE SET ON
We shall realize that we are the masters of our own destiny.
[Jeremiah 31:31] BEHOLD, THE DAYS COME, SAITH THE LORD, THAT I WILL
NEW COVENANT WITH THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL, AND WITH THE HOUSE OF
"A NEW COVENANT": This New Covenant entails a change of human nature as
explained in the verses and will take place in the future. The New
is to be made with the united Tribes of Judah and Israel (the Ten
[Jeremiah 31:32] NOT ACCORDING TO THE COVENANT THAT I MADE WITH THEIR
FATHERS IN THE DAY THAT I TOOK THEM BY THE HAND TO BRING THEM OUT OF
LAND OF EGYPT; WHICH MY COVENANT THEY BRAKE, ALTHOUGH I WAS AN HUSBAND
THEM, SAITH THE LORD:
[Jeremiah 31:33] BUT THIS SHALL BE THE COVENANT THAT I WILL MAKE WITH
HOUSE OF ISRAEL; AFTER THOSE DAYS, SAITH THE LORD, I WILL PUT MY LAW IN
THEIR INWARD PARTS, AND WRITE IT IN THEIR HEARTS; AND WILL BE THEIR
AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE.
[Jeremiah 31:34] AND THEY SHALL TEACH NO MORE EVERY MAN HIS NEIGHBOUR,
EVERY MAN HIS BROTHER, SAYING, KNOW THE LORD: FOR THEY SHALL ALL KNOW
FROM THE LEAST OF THEM UNTO THE GREATEST OF THEM, SAITH THE LORD: FOR I
WILL FORGIVE THEIR INIQUITY, AND I WILL REMEMBER THEIR SIN NO
[Jeremiah 31:35] THUS SAITH THE LORD, WHICH GIVETH THE SUN FOR A LIGHT
DAY, AND THE ORDINANCES OF THE MOON AND OF THE STARS FOR A LIGHT BY
WHICH DIVIDETH THE SEA WHEN THE WAVES THEREOF ROAR; THE LORD OF HOSTS
[Jeremiah 31:36] IF THOSE ORDINANCES DEPART FROM BEFORE ME, SAITH THE
THEN THE SEED OF ISRAEL ALSO SHALL CEASE FROM BEING A NATION BEFORE ME
[Jeremiah 31:37] THUS SAITH THE LORD; IF HEAVEN ABOVE CAN BE MEASURED,
THE FOUNDATIONS OF THE EARTH SEARCHED OUT BENEATH, I WILL ALSO CAST OFF
THE SEED OF ISRAEL FOR ALL THAT THEY HAVE DONE, SAITH THE LORD.
The LORD God of Israel will never desert His people. God is always
us. The Lost Ten Tribes and Judah will both return to the Almighty and
re-united with each other.
