1. Answer to Criticisms no.3
They said:
How is
it that we possess the wealth of the
world? We borrow from none and lend to
all.
This is said in the Scriptures properly
about Babylon, not Israel!!!
(Isaiah 47:7-10; cf Jeremiah 9:23).
You acknowledge being the real heir of
Babylon's pride!
Answer of Brit-Am: We are answering
somebody who was attacking somebody
else but whose attacks have been applied
against us. The person who was
being attacked used many of our beliefs,
other ideas that we agree with,
and ideas that we do not use and are
reserved about. Isaiah 47:7-10 speaks
of Babylon but does not mention lending
or borrowing money to other
nations, neither does Jeremiah 9:23.
Is this the best they can do?
Deuteronomy 15:5-6 speaks of Israel
lending to other nations and not
borrowing from them. This verse has
been used to support belief in the fact
that many from the Lost Ten Tribes
of Israel now dwell in the USA. Brit-Am
however never used that argument. We
do not disagree with it, we just find
it problematic from our perspective.
Consider the relevant verses and our
Commentary:
<<ONLY IF THOU CAREFULLY HEARKEN
UNTO THE VOICE OF THE LORD THY GOD, TO
OBSERVE TO DO ALL THESE COMMANDMENTS
WHICH I COMMAND THEE THIS DAY.
<<FOR THE LORD THY GOD BLESSETH
THEE, AS HE PROMISED THEE: AND THOU SHALT
LEND UNTO MANY NATIONS, BUT THOU SHALT
NOT BORROW; AND THOU SHALT REIGN
OVER MANY NATIONS, BUT THEY SHALL NOT
REIGN OVER THEE>> [Deuteronomy
15:5-6] .
THE LORD SHALL OPEN UNTO THEE
HIS GOOD TREASURE, THE HEAVEN TO GIVE THE
RAIN UNTO THY LAND IN HIS SEASON, AND
TO BLESS ALL THE WORK OF THINE HAND:
AND THOU SHALT LEND UNTO MANY NATIONS,
AND THOU SHALT NOT BORROW.
[Deuteronomy 28:13] AND THE LORD SHALL
MAKE THEE THE HEAD, AND NOT THE
TAIL; AND THOU SHALT BE ABOVE ONLY,
AND THOU SHALT NOT BE BENEATH; IF THAT
THOU HEARKEN UNTO THE COMMANDMENTS
OF THE LORD THY GOD, WHICH I COMMAND
THEE THIS DAY, TO OBSERVE AND TO DO
THEM>>Deuteronomy 28:12-13]
The USA has lent money to every single nation in the world today.
Some say that this is an additional
proof that the USA is dominated by
descendants of Israel since through
the USA the blessing of lending and not
borrowing on an international level
has been fulfilled. There may be
something in this. Nevertheless the
wording of this blessing makes it
contingent on keeping the commandments.
The other blessings that were
fulfilled were given unconditionally.
It may be that since the Israelites
from the Lost Ten Tribes in the USA
are technically temporarily not
obligated at this time to keep the
Law that God has let them have this
blessing? It may be that the good that
they doe do has been considered in
their case as keeping (at least partially)
their part of the Covenant?
2. Science? Middle-eastern farmers 'civilised'
Europe

NewScientist.com news service
Farmers from the Middle East literally
carried civilisation with them into
Europe, 10,000 years ago, according
to new genetic analysis. It reveals
that modern inhabitants of Paris, Athens
and Berlin share, on average, 50
per cent of their genes with people
from Baghdad, Tehran, Ankara and Damascus.
That means farmers must have emigrated
en masse from the Middle East into
Europe, mixing and mingling with the
hunter-gatherers of the day. It also
helps settle the long running debate
of whether immigrants brought
agriculture directly to Europe or if
the idea simply spread west by word of
mouth.
The development of agriculture is considered
to be one of the most
important steps leading to modern civilisation.
Archaeologists have shown
that agriculture moved north-west through
Europe at about one kilometre per
year, based on the dating of clay pots
and other tools.
But how this happened has been less
clear. In the 1970s, scientists first
proposed that farmers must have moved
west, as certain genetic traits like
eye colour seem to follow the archaeological
sweep across Europe. But later
studies favoured the idea of a slow
cultural exchange of ideas.
In the mix
In 2000, for example, a study published
in Science examined 22 genetic
markers on the Y chromosome of over
1000 men and concluded that less than a
quarter of modern European genes come
from Middle-Eastern stock. This
implies very little mixing between
the populations.
But now Lounès Chikhi from University
College London and his colleagues say
that analysis was too simplistic. Using
a different statistical model to
look at the same data, they found that
Middle-Eastern farmers contributed
at least half of the genes of modern
Europeans, ranging from 85 to 100 per
cent in Greece to 15 to 30 per cent
in France. That indicates farmers moved
en masse across Europe.
The genetic proportions estimated by
Chikhi look about right, says Luigi
Luca Cavalli-Sforza, at Stanford University.
Cavalli-Sforza was one of the
first to propose that middle-eastern
farmers moved west, but was also one
of the authors of the Science paper
that suggested the opposite
He says he will now take a close look
at the methods used by Chikhi, but
warns: "A possible source of error
is generated by the difficulties of
separating pre-agricultural, agricultural
and post-agricultural migrations
from the Middle East."

Cavalli-Sforza notes that a lot of
different factors can skew the numbers,
including small sample sizes and the
"difficulties of separating
pre-agricultural, agricultural and
post-agricultural migrations from the
Middle East".

Yair -
Thanks for preparing this summary.
By happy coincidence (as if Hashem ever
operates by coincidence!) I began teaching
a historical survey of Israel at
our church yesterday. That particular
lesson presented the origins of
Israel in the Patriarchs, and emphasized
the establishment of Israel's two
houses in Judah and Ephraim. That will
be a theme throughout the course,
culminating with study of the prophecies
regarding the return of Ephraim to
the land and the reunification of all
Israel.
My teaching covered many of the points
you present here, but not all. In
September I will offer the classes
again. Thanks to your summary of
Genesis, I now have a quick and easy
reference to explain Jacob's prophecies
regarding his sons!

The Principles of Brit-Am require:
1. Acceptance of Prophecy.
2. Self-Respect (no hatred of fellow
Israelite groups, no antisemitism)
3. Acknowledgement of The Israelite
Identity of many people amongst
Western Nations.
The aims of Brit-Am are to encourage:
1. The spread of Identity Awareness.
2. Increased Identity research and
clarification.
3. Association of members together
for the sake of mutual-empowerment,
