Shalom Yair!
This might seem a trivial question, but for a long time I have been curious as to why the Britam-Am Rose only features 5 Green Leaves, when infact their is a void where a sixth would go?
Please explain?

THE MOTTO OF THE TUDOR ROSE
by Stephen Spykerman

The Brit-Am Rose is based on the Rose of Israel as described by the Zohar and
the Tudor Rose which is highly similar to it.
Both Roses have only five Green Leaves around them though the Tudor Rose in many
(but not all) cases is depicted with an additional 5 leaves (i.e. 10 altogether)
around the outer petals. This was not always so as may be seen by the Tudor Rose
pattern to the left of our article

taken from,
"The Making of the United Kingdom 1500-1750" by J.F. Aylett, Hodder & Stoughton,
Britain
and in the portrait of Henry-vii.
In the beginning of the "Zohar" it says:
"`As the rose among the thorns, so is my
love among the maidens' (Song of Solomon 2:2): What is the rose: It is the
Assemblage of Israel, the Community of Israel. For there is a rose (above) and a
rose (below). Just as the rose which is among the thorns has red and white, so
does the Assemblage of Israel have justice and mercy. Just as a rose has
thirteen petals, so does the Assemblage [Hebrew: "Knesset"] of Israel have
thirteen measures of compassion encompassing it on all sides. "...Five strong
leaves surround the rose..."
The Rose of all Israel described by the Zohar has thirteen petals and five green
leaves. Perhaps the five leaves represent the Five Books of the Torah?
It will be noticed that the Tudor Rose has only 10 petals (five white and five
red)
and if accept the versions with 10 green leaves we get a repeat of the Number
10. We have suggested that this number represents the Ten Tribes.
The Brit-Am Rose is based on the Tudor Rose BUT we have adapted to the
description in the Zohar. This brought us to limit the number of green leaves to
5 and to bring the number of petals up to 13 (7 white surrounded by six red).
The Thirteen petals in our Brit-Am conception are taken as representing all the
13 Tribes. The number 13 results due to Ephraim and Manasseh being counted as
separate Tribes and neither Levi nor Simeon being left out.
In the Bible only 12 Tribes are counted by either counting Ephraim and Manasseh
as the one Tribe of Joseph or omitting either Levi or Simeon.
Yair, the Biblical family of Asher was Jimnah, Ishuah, Isui, Beriah and Serah. Where did these children and their families settle?
Thank you.
