Brit-Am Now no.1895: Ten Tribes Studies. Covenant People

Ten out of the Twelve Tribes of Israel were exiled and lost their identity. Their descendants are now to be found amongst Western Peoples. They are the Lost Ten Tribes. This is proven from the Bible, Talmud, and Rabbinical Sources as well as from Secular Studies in Ancient History, Archaeology, Mythology, Linguistics, and related fields.

In the notes below we bring news, queries, and updates related to these issues.

1. Mariaan: South Africa and God's Covenant people.

Dear Yair,

I just received the ... The Tribes. I am going to give the book to a very dear friend of mine. You will not believe that people in South Africa are not aware of the possibility of belonging to the lost tribes of Israel. Since I was a little girl my father insisted that we commemorate the Covenant our forefathers made with God at Bloedrivier [Scene of a famous Dutch Boer victory over the Zulus in 1838 which was preceded by a vow to the Almighty]. My father always told us that we are part of God's Covenant people. He passed away quite a few years back, but I never asked him how did he know that. I just believed him. His grandfather immigrated from Britain in the late 1800's.

God bless you

Kindest regards

Mariaan

2. Statistics: More Possibilities
A distinction needs to be made between Israel (i.e. Joseph and the Ten Tribes) and Judah i.e. the Jews and those of Jewish descent.

We saw that about half those of Israelite descent today are in the USA.
Half the remainder are in the UK and British offshoots (Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa) i.e. in Ephraim Nations.
A quarter are amongst other West European nations.

We do not know how many Israelites there really are:
130 Million Ephraim.
260 USA (Ephraim, Manasseh, and all others).
130 Million West Europeans.
Total: 520 million.

Real figures may be much much less BUT if so we can take the above numbers as representing Israelites and associated Gentiles under immediate Israelite Influence.

About 42% of  the known Jews are in the State of Israel.
Ca 38%  of  the known Jews are in the USA.
6% in Ephraim countries.
12% in other Israelite nations.

This accounts for ca. 98% of the known Jews today.

We saw that a rough guess gives us at least 20 million citizens of the USA of Jewish descent without being aware of it.
This gives us ca. 25 millions of Jewish descent in the USA which we may take as half the total.
There would therefore possibly be ca. 12 million of Jewish Descent in Ephraim nations and the same number amongst the other Israelite countries
Including the number of known Jews this gives us ca. 50 -60 million.

3. Rabbi Kook: Understanding of Israel and Humankind.

Selected and translated by Rabbi Itzchak Marmorstein

#It is proper that all humankind (Enoshiyut) would unite into one family, and then will end all the quarrels and all the bad characteristics that derive from the division of nations and their borders. But the world requires that essential refinement through which humankind is improved by the richness of characteristics unique to each nation. This need will be fulfilled by the Assembly of Israel (Knesset Yisrael), which is characterized by a great treasury of spirits that include within its midst every talent and elevated spiritual tendency. All the good that emerges from the division of nations will be preserved for the world, through the full completion of the community of Israel, and especially through her connection with the whole world. There will no longer be any need for actual division, and all the nations will become one collective, and upon them, as a holy treasure, a kingdom of priests and holy people, a treasure from all the nations, as HaShem spoke...# (Notebook I-808).

4. David Jackson: Evolution Theory is Like a Religion!
RE: Brit-Am Now no. 1892: Ten Tribes Studies.
#2. J wrote: Problem with Brit-Am Position on Evolution.

Yair,
I have been on vacation and am just catching up on emails, including
Brit-Am. Regarding the reader who wants to unsubscribe because of your not
believing in evolution, that is sad to see.

If I recall correctly, it was the Christian apologist writer CS Lewis who
near the end of his life said that Creation/Evolution is "perhaps the
central issue". I think he was on to something. It has been said that how
one feels about the very first verse of the Bible is a good predictor of how
one will feel about the rest of it. A more divisive sentence in the modern
world can hardly be imagined.

It appears to me that God wrote Genesis Chapter 1, and that several other
writers, such as Adam and Abraham added to the book in their lifetimes with
Moses' original contribution beginning at Exodus.
I don't know if Evolutionists realize just how 'religious' they sound when
they do things like asking to be unsubscribed lest they confront any
contrary opinions.

6. Question on "eretz acheret".

Yair,

... what you pointed out before, Devarim 29:28 "eretz acheret" usually translated as "another land." You pointed out that it can mean "a land found later."  Is this a fairly well alternate understanding of the phrase in Hebrew? I want to make sure...

Brit-Am Reply:
Your question concerning
erets acheret revolves around the meaning of  "acheret".
Deuteronomy 29:
28 And the Lord uprooted them from their land in anger, in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as it is this day.?
The words translated as "another land" in Hebrew are Erets (Land) Acheret (Another).

Rabbinical Tradition in the Mishna (Sanhedrin 10) speaks of Erets Acheret as a specific place where the Lost Ten Tribes will be located in the End Times.

The Hebrew word "Acheret" may be correctly translated as another or alternate.
See:
BAC to Deuteronomy 29:28:
http://www.britam.org/deuteronomy/8nitzavimvayelec.html

The root acheret is from the root Acher which also coonotes delayed or come late.
The expression Erets Acheret could be translated as New World in the sense that this name was applied to the Americas after their discovery.
Somewhere in the sources there is probably something confirming this explanation which is in fact quite feasible.

The Ten Tribes were to be found in the End Times in Erets Acheret (Talmud, Sanhedrin 110;b).

This explanation that Erets Acheret means New World is correct BUT it is not something that a lot of weight should be attached to.
It should be considered an interesting side point.

The usual translation of  New World is Olam Chadash. This however means more "Renewed (or Recreated) World or Universe".
It does not capture the sense of New World as applied to the Americas in the same way as Eretz Acheret does.

Let us look at it another way.
New World is how the Americas were first described.

New World.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The New World is one of the names used for the Western Hemisphere, specifically the Americas and sometimes Oceania (Australasia). The term originated in the early 16th century, shortly after America was discovered by European explorers, expanding the geographical horizon of the people of the European Middle Ages, who had thought of the world as consisting of Europe, Asia, and Africa only: collectively now referred to as the Old World. The Americas were also referred to as the "fourth part of the world".

The term was first coined by the Florentine explorer Amerigo Vespucci, in a letter written to his patron Lorenzo di Pier Francesco de' Medici in the Spring of 1503, and published (in Latin) in 1503-04 under the title Mundus Novus. Vespucci's letter contains arguably the first explicit articulation in print of the hypothesis that the lands discovered by European navigators to the west were not the edges of Asia, but rather an entirely different continent, a "New World".

Vespucci said:
#....and it is lawful to call it a new world, because none of these countries were known to our ancestors and all who hear about them they will be entirely new. #

In Hebrew translation of New World we  have two possibilities "Olam Chadash" or "Erets Acheret".
"Olam Chadash" is a literal translation. In Rabbinical Writings (e.g. Maharal) the Americas are referred to as an Old Chadash.
In Biblical Hebrew one would not use a literal translation but rather the option that most approximates the intended literal meaning.
One would say "Erets Acheret".

Explanation, "New World" in English literally could be understood to mean "another more recently created planet like the earth". Translating this literally gives us Olam Chadash which captures the
dual significance of the original.
When Vespucci coined the term "New World" he meant Another Part of the World which was different and hitherto unknown. "Erets Acheret" captures this literal meaning.

Extract:

We are now considering the Arab States of the Persian Gulf and Arabia.
These areas like the rest of the Islamic world are those wherein one group rules over another. In nearly every case whoever rules oppresses they whom they rule over.
Very often the rulers are in the demographic minority.
This is the natural order of things in the Islamic world.

All truth passes through three stages: First it is ridiculed.
Second, it is violently opposed.
Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.
