John's idea is simply brilliant. Partition off a part of Israel where people from the nations who feel they are Israelites can settle. Let them establsih their own economy and security. They would not necessarily need to be seen as full fledged Israelis, with voting rights and access to benefits that Israelis enjoy. Rather, they would have to finance their move to Israel and underwrite their own expenses so prove their support of Israel. Within this partition, they should be allowed to construct homes and build an economy. They should also be allowed to provide security in conjunction with the Israeli police and military. In time of war, they could be called upon as conscripts in a type of militia.

The verse in Hebrew says what we have interpreted it to say. Ephraim shall help
Judah.
The NKJV renders the verse:
Hosea 10:
11 Ephraim is a trained heifer
That loves to thresh grain;
But I harnessed her fair neck,
I will make Ephraim pull a plow.
Judah shall plow;
Jacob shall break his clods.?
The KJV says:
[Hosea 10:11] AND EPHRAIM IS AS AN HEIFER THAT IS TAUGHT, AND LOVETH TO TREAD
OUT THE CORN; BUT I PASSED OVER UPON HER FAIR NECK: I WILL MAKE EPHRAIM TO RIDE;
JUDAH SHALL PLOW, AND JACOB SHALL BREAK HIS CLODS.
The NKJV Translation in this case appears closer to the Hebrew.
The word translated as heifer (in Hebrew, eglah) hints at the Anglo-Saxon
people.

The Midrash HaGadol quotes this verse and continues:
# There will not be complete peace in the world until the lion (symbol of Judah,
Genesis 49:9) is allied with the bull (symbol of Joseph, Deuteronomy 33:17). It
is good for Israel when Joseph and Judah are united. #

#3. The Midrash on Unity Between Judah and Joseph.
The expression "shall break his clods" in Hebrew is "Yisaded" from the root SDH
or SOD meaning clod, i.e. clump of earth.
We also have an English word that sounds the same and has a similar meaning:

"slice of earth with grass on it," early 15c., apparently from M.Du. sode
"turf," M.L.G. sode, or O.Fris. satha "sod," all of uncertain origin. The (old)
sod "Ireland" is from 1812.
Anyway this is an important verse whose importance we had somehow overlooked.
It was pointed out to us by Aaron Menazzi who himself may have been using an
Italian Translation.
Anyway we hope shortly to discuss this more and perhaps write an article about
it.
