Psalms 103
A PSALM OF DAVID.
[Psalms 103:1] BLESS THE LORD, O MY SOUL: AND ALL THAT IS WITHIN ME, BLESS HIS HOLY NAME.
We ask God to enable us to worship HIM with all we have.
[Psalms 103:2] BLESS THE LORD, O MY SOUL, AND FORGET NOT ALL HIS BENEFITS:
We ask not to forget the good HE has done for us.
[Psalms 103:3] WHO FORGIVETH ALL THINE INIQUITIES; WHO HEALETH ALL THY DISEASES;
God forgives us our sins and trangressions and mistakes that we should have avoided and could have done so with a little effort.
[Psalms 103:4] WHO REDEEMETH THY LIFE FROM DESTRUCTION; WHO CROWNETH THEE WITH LOVINGKINDNESS AND TENDER MERCIES;
God delivers us from the results of our bad deeds and negative attributes. HE helps us. We need to be aware of this.
[Psalms 103:5] WHO SATISFIETH THY MOUTH WITH GOOD THINGS; SO THAT THY YOUTH IS RENEWED LIKE THE EAGLE'S.
God gives us plenty to enjoy and the ability to enjoy it.
If we go in the Right Path and do the best we can or even just reasonably well the Almighty will bless us, invigorate us, and grant us a renewal.
[Psalms 103:6] THE LORD EXECUTETH RIGHTEOUSNESS AND JUDGMENT FOR ALL THAT ARE OPPRESSED.
God helps everybody.
[Psalms 103:7] HE MADE KNOWN HIS WAYS UNTO MOSES, HIS ACTS UNTO THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL.
It is all written in the Bible.
[Psalms 103:8] THE LORD IS MERCIFUL AND GRACIOUS, SLOW TO ANGER, AND PLENTEOUS IN MERCY.
Even when the Almighty punishes us it is usually after we have been given time to rectify oursleves , repent, and avoid punishment or at least greatly mitigate it.
[Psalms 103:9] HE WILL NOT ALWAYS CHIDE: NEITHER WILL HE KEEP HIS ANGER FOR EVER.
Even if we are in the midst of being punished we can still turn back and we will be given another chance. Sometimes help comes almost at one and at other times after a time.
[Psalms 103:10] HE HATH NOT DEALT WITH US AFTER OUR SINS; NOR REWARDED US ACCORDING TO OUR INIQUITIES.
[Psalms 103:11] FOR AS THE HEAVEN IS HIGH ABOVE THE EARTH, SO GREAT IS HIS MERCY TOWARD THEM THAT FEAR HIM.
Fear of God is the moist important. HE can do what HE likes and HE knows who and what we are.
[Psalms 103:12] AS FAR AS THE EAST IS FROM THE WEST, SO FAR HATH HE REMOVED OUR TRANSGRESSIONS FROM US.
[Psalms 103:13] LIKE AS A FATHER PITIETH HIS CHILDREN, SO THE LORD PITIETH THEM THAT FEAR HIM.
[Psalms 103:14] FOR HE KNOWETH OUR FRAME; HE REMEMBERETH THAT WE ARE DUST.
God makes allowance for our frailties.
[Psalms 103:15] AS FOR MAN, HIS DAYS ARE AS GRASS: AS A FLOWER OF THE FIELD, SO HE FLOURISHETH.
[Psalms 103:16] FOR THE WIND PASSETH OVER IT, AND IT IS GONE; AND THE PLACE THEREOF SHALL KNOW IT NO MORE.
We have not got so much time and therefore should do what we can as well and as soon as we can.
[Psalms 103:17] BUT THE MERCY OF THE LORD IS FROM EVERLASTING TO EVERLASTING UPON THEM THAT FEAR HIM, AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS UNTO CHILDREN'S CHILDREN;
God helps us and blesses us and also rewards us through helping our descendants as we would want.
This is an important Biblical principle.
You get what you want.
You were born in the condition you would want to be born in knowing who you are.
You are punished as you would agree to be punished if you realized fully what you are being punished for and what the options are.
You are rewards thousands of times to a greater degree than that applied to you when punished. Your rewards are also in the form you would prefer them to be if you were aware of all the alternatives.
[Psalms 103:18] TO SUCH AS KEEP HIS COVENANT, AND TO THOSE THAT REMEMBER HIS COMMANDMENTS TO DO THEM.
The Law is important to those who are obligated by it.
Christians should be aware NOT to dissuade Jews from keeping the Law.
[Psalms 103:19] THE LORD HATH PREPARED HIS THRONE IN THE HEAVENS; AND HIS KINGDOM RULETH OVER ALL.
[Psalms 103:20] BLESS THE LORD, YE HIS ANGELS, THAT EXCEL IN STRENGTH, THAT DO HIS COMMANDMENTS, HEARKENING UNTO THE VOICE OF HIS WORD.
The angels are heavenly agents of the Almighty and they realize more than others the Power and Beneficence of God.
[Psalms 103:21] BLESS YE THE LORD, ALL YE HIS HOSTS; YE MINISTERS OF HIS, THAT DO HIS PLEASURE.
People on earth that serve the Almighty may merit an awareness of the Greatness of God similar to that obtained by the angels.
[Psalms 103:22] BLESS THE LORD, ALL HIS WORKS IN ALL PLACES OF HIS DOMINION: BLESS THE LORD, O MY SOUL.
We ask God to help us Bless him and that our inner being should be aware of him.
