| The Hebrew Nations: An Overview of Brit-Am Beliefs. The Understandings. Descendants of the Lost Ten Tribes are now to be found amongst Western Peoples. Proofs are derived from Scripture, Rabbinical writings, history, mythology, linguistics, and every other source that may be relevant. We do not say that all Western peoples are descended from Israelites. A portion of them are. These comprise the main body of the Lost Ten Tribes of Israel. They strongly influenced the national characteristics of nations in the west. In some cases they may well comprise a majority of people in the countries of their dwelling. Countries amongst which the Ten Tribes are to be found include: Switzerland, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Ireland, UK, Canada, USA, Australia, New Zealand, the whites of South Africa. Members of the Ten Tribes were also to be found in other nations especially those of Europe. Only in the above listed nations however were the Ten Tribes predominant for long periods of time. The listed nations may be considered in many respects to be countries of Israel. We employ Ephraimite Criteria to determine what nations are Israelite ones. In Germany and other parts of Continental Europe there were once many from the Ten Tribes but most of them left, separated themselves out, and emigrated to North America and elsewhere. The Jews are Judah. Amongst Judah there were representative minorities of all the other Tribes. In addition amongst the Ten Tribes were to be found many from Judah. Elements from Edom settled in Europe especially Germany where they penetrated the ruling elites. Points that may not be so important in their own right but which receive a lot of attention include Israelite Physical Types and the Khazars. The physical types of the ancient Israelites included both those of West European appearance as well as the darker Mediterranean kinds. This is confirmed by Biblical and Rabbinical sources as well as Egyptian illustrations and Israelite ivory carvings. See: THE PHYSICAL ANTHROPOLOGY OF THE HEBREW PEOPLES The Hebrew Pictures. The Khazars were also from the Ten Tribes and re-attached themselves to Judah. In studying the Ten Tribes we need to distinguish: (1) between Judah (i.e. the Jews) and the Ten Tribes. (2) Between Joseph and the other Tribes. (3) Within Joseph between Ephraim and Manasseh. From another point of view a distinction is made between Joseph and the others. The non-Joseph nations include Finland, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Denmark, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Eire, and the State of Israel. They number ca. 130 million. Britain and her offshoots comprise the descendants of Ephraim. Britain and British offshoots (Canada, Australia, South African Whites, New Zealand, etc) have a population of ca. 130, 000,000. The USA contains elements from all the Tribes. Joseph is predominant. Numerically there may be more of Ephraim than Manasseh in the USA BUT Manasseh predominates in other ways. The USA has ca. 313 million but many are non-Israelites. The non-Israelite component in the USA may now be an overwhelming majority of the total. Roughly speaking we may assume that the USA (Joseph) has about as many Israelites as the other Israelite nations put together. Amongst the other nations Ephraim (Britain and her offshoots) have about half which is a quarter of the total. The Bequeathment of the Blessings. Abraham The Promised Blessings began with Abraham. He was the first Patriarch and to him was it promised to become, "A great nation, and in you will all the families of the earth be blessed" (Genesis 12:2-3). "And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly" (Genesis 17:2). "I will make nations of thee and kings shall come out of thee; And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee" (Genesis 17:6-7). The blessings were concomitant with a Divine Purpose. There was a certain reason for them. Of Abraham it was said, "Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him. For I know him that he will command his children and his house after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him" (Genesis 18:18-19). Isaac Abraham begat Ishmael and Isaac. Isaac received the covenant promise and to him devolved the promised blessings: "My covenant will I establish with Isaac" (Genesis 17:21); "I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him" (Genesis 17:19). God informed Abraham, "In Isaac shall thy seed be called" (Genesis 21:21). Esau and Jacob Isaac begat the twins Esau and Jacob. Jacob received the Blessings promised to Abraham and to Isaac. Isaac blessed Jacob, "God Almighty bless thee, and make thee fruitful and multiply thee, that thou mayest be a multitude of people; And give thee the blessing of ABRAHAM, to thee and to thy seed with thee" (Genesis 28:2-3). Jacob was given the additional name ISRAEL, "Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, But ISRAEL; for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men and hast prevailed" (Genesis 32:8). "Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name: and He called his name ISRAEL" (Genesis 35:10). Jacob (Israel) had Twelve Sons, "Now the sons of Jacob were twelve" (Genesis 36:22). The Twelve Sons of Israel The Twelve Sons of Israel were Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulon, Joseph, Benjamin, Dan, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher. They were the forefathers of the Twelve Tribes of Israel. All the sons of Israel received a Blessing from their father, "Everyone according to his blessing he blessed them" (Genesis 49:28). Joseph and the Birthright The Birthright was given to Joseph. "Judah prevailed above his brethren, and of him (comes) the chief ruler; but the birthright was Joseph's" (1-Chronicles 5:1-2). Jacob blessed Joseph, "The blessings of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills: they shall be on the head of JOSEPH, and on the crown of him that was separated from his brethren" (Genesis 49:6). Joseph has an ADDITIONAL TASK AND MERIT. "The blessings of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors..." (Genesis 49:6). Joseph had received an additional blessing and task beyond that of the other Tribes and BEYOND that promised to Abraham, Isaac, and the rest of the Tribes. Ephraim and Manasseh Joseph had two sons, Ephraim and Menasseh. Both Ephraim and Menasseh received the status of full Tribes in their own right. Jacob said: ## THY TWO SONS, EPHRAIM AND MANASSEH, ARE MINE; AS REUBEN AND SIMEON, THEY SHALL BE MINE ## (Genesis 48:5). "And he blessed them that day, saying, In thee shall Israel bless saying, God make thee as Ephraim and as Manasseh: and he set Ephraim before Manasseh" (Genesis 48:20). The prevalence of Ephraim is repeated in Jeremiah (31:9), "I am a father to Israel, and EPHRAIM is my firstborn". Nevertheless, towards the End Times, Manasseh would be the greater party though it would acheive its greatness after that of Ephraim. See: Ephraim Comes First! Malbim on Joseph (Genesis chs 48 and 49). We identify Britain and its offshoots with Ephraim. The USA encompasses elements from all the Tribes but especially that of Joseph. Descendants of Ephraim in the USA may be numerically greater than those of Manasseh. Nevertheless the USA is the nation through which Manasseh has made its Tribal imprint in the world. See: Is the USA Ephraim or Manasseh? Why Did Things Happen This Way? The Division of the Tribes was from God: FOR THIS THING IS FROM ME (1-Kings 12:24). Rabbinical Thinkers (such as Rabbi Isaac Kook) said that Joseph and the Ten Tribes and others became assimilated amongst the Gentiles in order to elevate the heathen from inside. The Lost Israelites will constantly experience a subconscious drive to re-assert their Israelite identity and to draw closer to the Almighty. In the process the Lost Ten Tribes will elevate not only themselves but also the non-Israelites they dwell amongst and alongside of. On the other hand Judah (the Jews) had the task of developing the Law and their inner religious world. The Lost Ten Tribes of Israel were to become "a light to the nations" (Isaiah 42:6 49:6): The Tribes of Jacob will have an enlightening influence over the Gentiles. They shall be a "Brit-Am" or covenant of peoples. They will be located at the ends of the earth meaning the geographical extremities of the Continental masses. They will have colonized relatively undeveloped lands and be found in the north and west (from the Land of Israel) and also in the Land of Sinim meaning Australia and New Zealand (Isaiah 49:5-12). Abraham was promised to become a great and mighty nation in whom all nations of the earth would be blessed. The descendants of Abraham would establish justice and judgment in the earth (Genesis ch.18). These predictions were unconditional and had to be fulfilled (Genesis 22:16). The Lost Tribes would rule over other peoples (Genesis 27:29 48:19). They would be a world power (Numbers 24:7-9 Micah ch.5:7-9); They would rule the waves (Numbers 23:7). They would control all major strategic areas (Genesis 22:17, 24:60). They were to become the richest and mightiest entities on earth (Genesis 49:25 Numbers 23:8-9). Aspects of these blessings were to be found in all of the Tribes but especially in those of Joseph, Ephraim and Manasseh. See: Scripture. It was prophesied that the Ten Tribes would be in mainly in the west. They would be in the west and north. They would be in the coastlands and the Isles of the Sea, and at the edges of the Continental Masses. They would be sea-goers. They would also be in the south and in the Land of Sinim which we identify with Australia and New Zealand. Their major center would be in the North in a Thigh or Peninsula such as North America is. They would be the police-man of the globe; the most powerful nation with bases in Many Oceans. They would fulfill more than a 100 specific conditions referring to the Ten Tribes. They would be the only ethnic groups that in all history met all of the said conditions. Characteristics of Issachar are those of Finland. Switzerland also to Issachar. "Keeper of the times" (1-Chronicles 12:32). Sweden to Gad: Tribes that settled in Sweden were named after Gad and clans of Gad. Norway to Naphtali. The Naphtalite Huns were named after Naphtali. Tradition said they came from Naphtali and Dan. From Scythia the Naphtalite Huns moved to Norway and Denmark. Denmark to Dan. The name Denmark (Danmark in Danish) means "Border of Dan" and the Danes have a tradition that they descend from Dan. Netherlands to Zebulon. The Sabulingoi settled in the North Netherlands. Sabulingoi in Hebrew means "People [goi] of Zebulon". Genesis 49:13 in the Hebrew says that Zebulon will dwell on the shores of the sea. The Dutch with their dykes and dams and two-thirds of the country literally on the sea-shores fulfill this. The symbol of Zebulon was a ship which was also the official symbol of the Dutch republic and traditionally of Holland in general. Belgium to Benjamin. The Belgae came from Bela(g)h of Benjamin (Numbers 26:38). France to Reuben. Names of groups that settled in France are those of Reuben and clans of Reuben. The French had the characteristics of Reuben. The Tribe of Asher settled in great numbers in Scotland and Ireland. Asher was also found in Scandinavia where it is referred to as the ancestral heroes known as As (singular) and in plural Aseir. Ireland and Wales to Simeon and Dan (as well as to Joseph). Both Simuen and Dan are referred to as ancestors in Irish Mythology. Manasseh was also found in Scotland and Ireland and so was Ephraim and Judah. England (along with Canada, Australia, New Zealand) to Ephraim. The word England comes from Angle. In both Hebrew and ancient Germanic the term Angle could be rendered or pronounced as Aegel. Aegel in Hebrew means a young bull. Aegel in Biblical Hebrew could also be pronounced like Angle. Ephraim was referred to as an Aegel or Angel i.e. young bull (Jeremiah 31:17). Ephraim was a tribe based on aristocracy as England still is. USA to Manasseh. The early settlers of the USA came from Britain but we have shown how they came from specific areas and social groupings where Manasseh had been dominant. Histroically, the name America is derived from the term "Ha-Macheri" (Numbers 26:29) meaning descendants of Machir the first-born son of Manasseh. A Repetition of Patterns: The Relative Tribal Positioning to each other in the Land of Israel is repeated in their present geographical locations. For details and background see: THE TRIBES. [1. Direct Evidence. Commentaries (such as those to the Biblical Book of
Obadiah) that expressly equate certain Western Nations with Israelites. History. The Assyrians conquered the Ten Tribes and exiled all of them. A portion were taken overseas by Philistine (Minoan) and Phoenician proxies of the Assyrians. They were taken to Spain, Gaul, and the British Isles. Those in Spain later moved to Ireland and Britain. Most of the remaining Exiles were taken overland to northern areas of the Assyrian Empire. They became associated with groups of other peoples. Historically they are identified as the Cimmerians, Scythians, and Goths. These peoples all eventually moved to the west. A minority remained in southern Russia and became the Khazars who converted to Judaism. The Ten Tribes in the west separated themselves from their Germanic and Celtic partners and established their own polities. They had been influenced by the peoples they had been associated with. They had also influenced them. Evidence of their Hebrew origins are to be found in Linguistics, Mythology, Historical Sociology, and other fields. These findings are confirmed by Scripture. A major proof that in the future should proof conclusive involves the dolmens. Modern academia dates Megalithic Monuments back to the Stone and Bronze Ages. This is mistaken. The actual dates are much more recent. Certain types of megalithic monuments are to be found in the Land of Israel and its surroundings and in Western Europe. They describe the Pathway of Israelites who migrated from the Middle East to the West. Jeremiah 31:21 in the Hebrew says: "Set yourself up stone monuments [menhirs, dolmens] and high heaps of stones [cairns] [i.e. Megalithic monuments!]. Set your heart towards the prepared way: The way in which you went. Turn back o virgin of Israel, return unto these cities of yours." See: "Dolmens and the Bible" Matters are Falling Into Place.. The Lost Ten Tribes are today amongst Western Peoples. Half of them appear to be in the USA. A quarter are amongst the British and offshoots of Britain. The Ten Tribes are destined to be made aware of their identity and to re-unite with Judah (Ezekiel 37). Judah is the Jews. More than 90% of the Jews are either in the State of Israel or amongst Israelite nations. Statistics: World Jewish Populations and the Ten Tribes. The return of the Jews to their Faith and to the Land of Israel in Rabbinical Commentaries is often linked with the Return of the Ten Lost Tribes. The preconditions are falling into place. The Descendants of the Ten Tribes of Israel have an obligation to learn the Bible and understand who they are and what is required of them. The knowledge gained through Brit-Am may be of help along the way. Individual Conclusions. Concerning the Israelite Ancestry of Gentiles as individuals (as distinct from groups in general) a lack of certainty exists. This is how Divine Providence wanted things to be at the present. We all need to do as well as we can with what we have and with what we can come to know. We are not in favor of individuals coming to Israel merely on the strength of their belief that they descend from the Ten Tribes. There are exceptions but on the whole we do not encourage it. We have emphasized that our message is directed to the national entities as whole bodies in a general sense. Only the Messiah or his emissaries will be able to tell us for sure what Israelite Tribes (if any) we descend from. Individuals cannot know for certain that they descend from Israel. Even if they are certain they will not be able to prove it. What we are trying to do is to PROVE ISRAELITE DESCENT concerning a substantial proportion of the national bodies we speak of. We will not be able to say that such and such a person is an Israelite. We should be able to say that based on the evidence most of the Tribes of Israel are to be found amongst certain peoples. We should also be able to say that statistically a percentage amongst these peoples is to a degree of HIGH PROBABILITY descended from Israelites. This may not sound like much but it is a lot. Firtly, the Israelite Origins of a numerically significant proportion of people in the west needs to be accepted. Following that believe that many issues will resolve themselves or be resolved. Establishing the truth of Israelite Ancestry however is the first step. We already have much of the needed evidence. More however is needed and that which we have should be strengthened. Individuals ideally should concentrate on spreading the knowledge amongst their own groups and living according to Biblical values. |
