1. Is Brit-Am Ungrateful to
Ephraimites?
Does Ephraim Owe Brit-Am Something?
Yair Shalom,
You, on behalf of the Brit-Am Ten Tribes Movement, keep on requesting funds to
operate.
You direct your appeals to Ephraimites and Christians yet you tell them not to
preach about
their religion to Jews and not to consider making aliyah to Israel.
Is there not a contradiction here?
It is as if you ask for money from people you do not want to help and whose
faith you oppose?
You have been operating for many years by virtue of money you received from
people you speak against.
How do you justify this?
Brit-Am Reply:
We direct our appeals not only to Ephraimites and Christians but
to everybody who believes in the Bible and in the Hebraic ancestry
of a central core amongst certain peoples and of themselves.
Complaints such as your own are rare and usually not stated so bluntly.
Such complaints when they come usually emanate not from those who have given to
us but from those who have not and who for some reason or other are irked by the
idea that others may do so.
Our Answer is divided into three:
(a) we never claimed to be other than we are.
(b) We gave and give a lot of our own to the cause.
(c) The recipients benefit greatly and it is intended that they do so as much as
possible.
Beyond that what we do is done because we feel duty-bound to do it.
Being a descendant of the Lost Ten Tribes means having an obligation to act in
certain ways with respect of Biblical values, love of your own people and of
Judah. Common sense would also suggest that one spread the information to your
kinfolk, neighbors, and governments and to inform them about their Israelite
responsibilities! This may be done through helping Brit-Am. Fulfilling existing
needs also includes helping the Brit-Am Ten Tribes Movement!
Our attitude is, or should be (though we too sometimes forget) not so much
Brit-Am on the one side and you on the other but rather
Brit-Am and yourself on the one side with the one ultimate cause!
In answer to the claims:
(a) we never claimed to be other than we are.
From the beginning we said who we are and what we believe in.
Occasionally prominent Ephraimite activists asked us to quieten the tone on some
point or other and sometimes we did so.
We never however changed what we believe in nor was it expected of us.
You knew in advance what to expect.
If anything what we have delivered is far better than could have been expected.
(b) We gave and give a lot of our own to the cause.
We did because we felt bound to do so.
We served the cause of both Joseph and Judah as well as we could.
It has been a privilege and a thrill.
We would not want it any other way. If we had to do it again we would do so and
perhaps even more so.
We put a lot into it.
Ephraimites did help us.
In addition we received help from members of our family and friends who are not
necessarily as convinced as we are concerning the righteousness
of this endeavor. Nevertheless they helped us because of their connection to us.
Even now we have been enabled to get by temporarily by virtue of such help
alongside that of some of our subscribers.
People from the Lost Ten Tribes, descendants of Lost Jews, and Ephraimites in
general benefited from this greatly.
We owe others (in the moral sense) and those who have received (to some degree,
in an abstract manner) owe Brit-Am.
If one was to pay an independent professional or organization to do even a
fraction of what Brit-Am has done and still does on a regular basis
it would cost a great deal more than what we have required and still have need
of.
(c) The recipients benefit greatly and it is intended that they do so as much as
possible.
The Brit-Am Ten Tribes Movement spreads the truth concerning the Israelite
ancestry of Ephraimites and related peoples.
Others do the same but we add something of our own and reach others.
Not only do we do a lot but what we have done and are doing is permanent and may
well continue to produce fruits
long after we depart.
2. Letter from a Dutch Clergymen about
his congregation making Aliyah?
Please do not communicate with us via
attachments.
We received the following Letter in an e-mail attachment.
This is the Letter:
Echt, The Netherlands, 30 June 2009
Dear Yair Davidiy, Shalom!
We will thank you heartily for all the investigation you have done for the Lost
Ten Tribes. It was really a surprise to study the articles and to find them in
the first place based on the Holy Scriptures.
Foundation Aliyah is a small but growing organization in build-up phase, with
the special aim to prepare the way for the great Aliyah of Jews and Christians/
Christian-Zionists to Jerusalem/ Israel. This is based on Jeremiah 3:18, Hosea
1:11, compared with Joel 2:32 and the book of Revelation 18:4 where it says:
?And I heard another voice from heaven, saying: Come out of her, My people, that
ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.?
To fulfill our Biblical task to comfort the Jewish people, we cooperate with
Leev Emanuel, to support the children of Emanuel in the Shomron.
As appears from the website of Aliyah, our organization is based on the message
of the late Mr. H.J. Verwoerd, which calls the Christians back to their
Biblical-Jewish roots. The ?fault-plane? has to be cleansed from the
uncontrolled-growth, which has been formed after the breakage of the 12 tribes.
This message is accompanied with the announcement of the great judgment of fire
over the Western World. See Daniel 7:10: ?A fiery stream issued and come forth
from before Him?; Psalm 50:3, 97:3 and so on.
We believe from Scripture that the Lost Ten Tribes are (hidden) in Christianity.
The disciples of Jesus Christ believed this too. But we reject the vision of the
British Israel movement, because it is mixed with wrong teachings and it doesn?t
give the State of Israel the right place.
The past 6 months we have studied in our Sabbath-services the Biblical history
of the Ten Tribes and last week we finished with a search for facts about the
time after the Assyrian exile. We were amazed and glad to find the site of
Brit-Am and your articles. But we are especially glad that a Jewish scholar has
made clear where to find the Lost Tribes, because we are looking for a chance to
make our identity known to your government. Once we will have to ask permission
to emigrate to the Promised Land, won?t we?
Anyway, we want to express our gratitude for the information you have gathered
and are looking forward for the way in which we can prepare the way for the
re-unification of the Twelve Tribes.
We like to hear something from you.
Yours sincerely,
On behalf of Foundation Aliyah
Fulp van der Velden
Secretary
Brit-Am Reply:
Shalom,
It was good to hear from you.
[In future please do not send us messages in .doc attachments. We prefer to
avoid them.]
I had a look at the site you referred to. You seem to be also involved in
outreach to Jews which according to the Torah is
forbidden to you.
See:
WHY CHRISTIANS SHOULD NOT MISSIONIZE JEWS
http://www.britam.org/Missionizing.html
You say that you
#believe from Scripture that the Lost Ten Tribes are (hidden) in Christianity#
We too agree with this but we would formulate it as being
#the Lost Ten Tribes are (hidden) among Christians#
See:
Notsrim
http://www.britam.org/Proof/Attributes/roleNotsrim.html
You say:
#But we are especially glad that a Jewish scholar has made clear where to find
the Lost Tribes [are]#,
That is what the Brit-Am Movement does and will continue to do as long as it can
or as long as we see that it is what
is required.
Nevertheless we do not do it in a vacuum. We are enabled to do it due to
(amongst other factors) the help of others.
The more help we get the more we can do.
You say:
#because we are looking for a chance to make our identity known to your
government.#
Do not expect cries of jubilation.
Refer them to us.
Remember that like it or not we are the best referral you will have.
The Brit-Am Ten Tribes Movement only says that the physical descendants of the
Ten Tribes are today to be found
primarily amongst at Western Peoples and concentrated in certain areas. No
individuals can claim to be definitely of Israelite
origin based on our researches. They may well be able to claim that it is highly
likely.
You should (or rather ALL of us should) direct our claims NOT ONLY to the
Israeli Government but also to your own government and to the governments of
ALL Israelite nations. They are responsible even more than the Israeli
Government is or should be!
They should dedicate monies to research the truth of our beliefs that are
substantiated.
[Instead of this, the governments of many of the Israelite nations give money to
Arab terrorists and pro-Arab anti-Jewish organizations to hurt the
State of Israel and the Jewish cause as much as possible. They subsidize
homos!]
Why do you not turn to the government of your own country with this
information???
In fact this question highlights a failing on your behalf and on that of others
like yourselves.
You take the information and you direct it towards making a claim against Judah
WHEREAS you should first of all direct your energies
towards your own fellow Israelites amongst your kinfolk and neighbors.
Either you believe in it or you do not!
You, like many of the others, seem to take the information and accept it.
Instead however of supporting Brit-Am and helping spread the information to
others,
informing your own governments and society of their Israelite obligations, you
keep it to yourselves, fail to support Brit-Am, and make plans to impose
yourselves if possible on the Israelis with as little forewarning and
preparation as possible!
You say:
#Once we will have to ask permission to emigrate to the Promised Land, won?t
we?#
No, you will not.
The Israeli government will not automatically accept it from you since you
probably would not be able to present it
coherently from their point of view. You could refer to us which might help us
and it would possibly help you in the long run.
We do not say that you should come to Israel or that being of Israelite descent
earns you this right though it could do so at some stage. In the meantime more
proof is needed
and there is a need to spread this information to more people deepening the
appreciation of it.
You cannot prove definitely that any of you are descended from Israel, only that
it is probable in some cases.
Even if you could prove it this would not be sufficient.
The Lost Ten Tribes will return as one group in their Tribal Formations and
re-unite with Judah after which the Land will be divided according to the Tribes
with each Tribe in its own territory (Ezekiel 47).
Before that happens there may be justification for individual members of the
Lost Ten Tribes to return and merge with Judah and live
in the Land of Israel. This solution however is not a general one but only
applies to individuals who feel exceptional to those around them
and who are prepared to do it under the recognition that in such a case they
will be the guests of Judah.
I am not a Dutch citizen. If I want to come to Holland I have to make an
application. If I want to just spend time there as a guest I need to make
one type of request and if I want to live there as an equal citizen I have to
make another request.
At each stage certain expectations are made of me and I would have to fulfill
minimal requirements.
It is the same everywhere.
Being a descendant of the Lost Ten Tribes means having an obligation to spread
the information to your kinfolk, neighbors, and governments and to inform them
about their Israelite responsibilities! It also means helping the Jews and the
State of Israel wherever possible and in helping the Brit-Am Ten Tribes
Movement!
The Brit-Am Ten Tribes Movement may be helped in numerous ways not the least of
which is financial assistance.
I hope this is all clear. I hope you are not offended.
God bless you

the Sabbath?

Re: Brit-Am Now no. 1364
#2. Message from the Brit-Am Ten Tribes Movement to Descendants of the Lost Ten
Tribes
http://britam.org/now/1364Now.html#Message
actually the sign is the Sabbath that identifies [the ALMIGHTY]'s people.
Exodus 31:13 13 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my
sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your
generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you.
Exodus 31:16-17 6 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to
observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant. 17
It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the
LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.
Exodus 13:9 9 And it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thine hand, and for a
memorial between thine eyes, that the LORD'S law may be in thy mouth: for with a
strong hand hath the LORD brought thee out of Egypt.
Deuteronomy 28:45-46 the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and
his statutes which he commanded thee: 46 And they shall be upon thee for a sign
and for a wonder, and upon thy seed for ever.
Exodus 13:9 d it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thine hand, and for a
memorial between thine eyes, that the LORD'S law may be in thy mouth:

Brit-Am Reply:
True. Israelites were to be distinguished by the Sabbath if they
kept the Torah.
The Sabbath was a private as well as a communal commandment.
See our recent article:
Collective Responsibility and Rabbinical Authority
http://britam.org/rabbis.html
The Community was obliged to enforce the Keeping of the Sabbath.
One could be put to death for desecrating the Sabbath!
[Exodus 31:15] SIX DAYS MAY WORK BE DONE; BUT IN THE SEVENTH IS THE SABBATH OF
REST, HOLY TO THE LORD: WHOSOEVER DOETH ANY WORK IN THE SABBATH DAY, HE SHALL
SURELY BE PUT TO DEATH.
But what exactly would constitute Sabbath desecration?
Does this apply today?
Does it apply only to Jews but to all Israelites?
How would you define who is an Israelite in light of the above?
These questions are answered in the above article.
Despite the fact that we understand that Lost Israelites from the Ten Tribes are
not obligated to keep
the Torah in the same way as the Jews are (at least not at present) we consider
it a sign of Israelite Ancestral
Arousal that many today feel pulled in that direction. In other words it may
well be a very good thing
and what the Almighty wants.
It does however enter the boundaries of religious and theological concepts that
we feel disbarred from
discussing and would not want to get involved with anyway.
The Brit-Am Ten Tribes Movement should be supported since we seek to spread the
truth concerning
the Lost Ten Tribes and work for the good of the Israelite Peoples.
This is a requirement of our times and perhaps should be considered the most
important issue at present.
Anything beyond that should not be expected of us.
Renewal of the Covenant
Our understanding is that in the End Times there will be a Renewal of the
Covenant
in which all Israelites will be accepted as to who they are and be required to
act accordingly.
This understanding conforms to Jewish sources and is also found in the Bible.
In fact throughout Scripture we have cases where the Israelites slipped away
from what they should have been,
a new Prophet or righteous king would then arise and the Covenant would be
publicly renewed.
This occurred several times even within the life span of Moses himself.
