#3. ANSWER TO CLAIMS THAT THE BRIT-AM MESSAGE IS BEING MISAPPROPRIATED FOR NEFARIOUS PURPOSES
Dear Yair:
I consider myself an Ephraimite. I felt called to the Torah 15 years ago but
when I visited a Messianic Jewish synagogue the Rabbi greeted me with such
obvious coldness and disdain that I did not return for 12 years. I am now
attending a Messianic Jewish synagogue and although I don't agree with all of
their beliefs, I am happy to be there. The Lord told me to not quibble over
"religion" so I keep some of my thoughts to myself. As I once heard in the
Christian church we should "major on the majors and minor on the minors." I
agree with that. As a Torah observant Ephraimite I do NOT feel led to convert
all Jews. In fact, I don't feel led to convert Christians either. If haShem is
writing the Torah on their heart or leading them to the Messiah it will become
obvious. I believe that most of Yahuda will not receive the Messiah until He
comes the second time and I think that is the plan of God. I am not sure how
many Christians are Ephraimites, but they will show themselves sooner or later.
After all, you can't have a harvest until there is fruit!
Keep up the good work at Brit-Am,
Shalom and success to you,
Lane Kelly
"I will sift the house of Ephraim among all nations, as grain is sifted in a
sieve; yet shall not the least kernel fall upon the earth." Amos 9:9
"Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; say to those with
fearful hearts, 'Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, He will come with
vengeance; with divine retribution He will come to save you.' Then will the eyes
of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped. Then will the lame
leap like a deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy. Water will gush forth in
the wilderness and streams in the desert. The burning sand will become a pool,
the thirsty ground bubbling springs. In the haunts where jackals once lay, grass
and reeds and papyrus will grow. And a highway will be there; it will be called
the Way of Holiness. The unclean will not journey on it; it will be for those
who walk in that Way." Isaiah 35: 3-8

Hi Yair,
1-I am a christian and always enjoy and am enlightened by your topics. I have NO
DESIRE in ''evangelizing'' jews and love you guys very much anyway and I am not
afraid of losing my faith in Jesus. ( Hmm. I wonder if I'm allowed to say His
name after reading your last letter? LOL) I understand this is a very serious
subject which must be taken seriously but let's not please take OURSELVES so
seriously as to lose our laughter and joy. OK? I am sure the Almighty has a
sense of humour. I do not believe he appreciates our quarrels and disputes. Both
christians and jews know the Time is near. I heard a french jewish Rabbi said
''The only difference between the Jew and the Christian is one sylable ''Nous
croyons que le Messie viens et vous croyez qu'Il ''RE'' viens'' which
translated means ''We believe the Messiah will come and you believe the Messiah
will come ''BACK''. This humour coming from a Rabbi demonstrates love and
friendship and that co-operation between the Jews and Christians is possible
wherever it is needed. This does not in no way stop us from keeping both our
firm convictions and beliefs as long as we don't take ourselves so seriously.
You know this ''SERIOUSNESS'' is the cause of many wars. Let's laugh a bit more.
OK?
2-I am however quite interested in my origins. I have bought your book ''Lost
Israelite Identity'' on Celtic origins and found quite a few bits and pieces
that interest me. The farthest I went in tracing my family name through
genealogy was Scotland in the 1300's. My family name was a sept to the clan
Macdonald even if my ancestors originally come from Ireland. Apparently he was
a strolling minstrel ( harper ) which was quite enlightening to me. Maybe he was
a descendant of King David as he himself played harp

I would sure love to know where he came from and if he was of Hebraic
descent.

My Fellow Brit-Am-er:
I am Christian and I am not an enemy of Judaism. I certainly don't want to
take over the land of Israel or target any other religion for conversion.
(My ancestors have English names like Jackson, Asher, Sizemore, Ballard,
Davis, Northcutt, etc., all of which do sound pretty 'Ephramite' to me.)
I think Brit-Am should continue to focus on the important things we share, such
as our common heritage, our common destiny, and our desire for the
establishment and security of a greater Israel.
Most evangelical Christians in the US are true friends of the Israeli state,
irrespective of religious differences. I could be wrong, but that's my
impression as one who lives here.
We rejoice in her victories, sorrow in her setbacks, and pray she will be
delivered from her enemies.
Sincerely, Your Fellow Brit-Am-er
David Jackson

Yair,
I was just wondering who this person (R) is talking about, I have not heard of
anyone that is misappropriating the Brit-Am message and if there is a "group" or
"program" that is out there that is doing this I would like to know who "they"
are.
I do not know of any Christians, Karaites, Messianics. ect... or their leaders
that are united in doing what R is accusing.
R wrote:
>Christians and Karaites are not Ephraim...they are enemies of Judaism
and desire to take over the land and convert all Israel.<
This statement is falsehood. I am sorry that R believes this.
First of all it is not for any of us to decide who is or is not Ephriam that is
the Almighty's job. It is Brit-Am's job to teach the truth. Those that believe
that they are of Ephriam must realize that return to the land is something that
YHWH will do in the greater Exodus and it is not our Job to return to the land
on our own. We will just have to have patience and wait.
Second to accuss all of something that a few believe is not right either. I
have family that are Christians and know those that are Karaites and they are
not enemies of Judaism and do not desire to take over the land and convert all
Israel. They are big supporters of Israel.
To say that all Messianic's believe a certain way is not right either. I just
wanted to know who R is talking about instead of generalizing everyone and
mentioning no one. Maybe you could forward this to R and have them e-mail me
the link to this group?
Thanks,
Many Blessings,
Leah
