The US Eagle and the Ends of the Earth
Introduction
We are examing Biblical evidence locating the Lost Ten Tribes in the west.
At present we dealing with Geographic Proofs from Scripture.
Amongst the host of complementary indications we find The Lost Ten Tribes at the "ends" or Geographic Extremities
of the Great Land Masses, the Lost Ten Tribes being found at the Best Places on the Earth which are also at the Extremities,
and the Bald-headed Eagle Symbol of the USA.
Ends of the Earth and the US Eagle
The Bald-Headed Eagle
A reference to World's ends
is found in the following passage:
(Isaiah
43;6)
"I will say to the north, Give up; and to the
south, Keep not back; bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the
ENDS OF THE EARTH".
Concerning this verse the Midrash (Sifrei,
Haazinu 32:11) links north country with the return of the exiles and an eagle,
the symbol of the USA:
[Deuteronomy 32:11]
"AS AN EAGLE STIRRETH UP HER NEST, FLUTTERETH
OVER HER YOUNG, SPREADETH ABROAD HER WINGS, TAKETH THEM, BEARETH THEM ON HER WINGS"
A bald-headed eagle is the symbol
of the USA.
Micah chapter one tells of the prophecy
that came to him CONCERNING SAMARIA AND JERUSALEM (1:1) meaning the Lost
Ten Tribes and Judah.
He goes on to say:
[Micah 1:5]
"FOR THE TRANSGRESSION OF JACOB IS ALL THIS, AND FOR THE SINS OF THE
HOUSE OF ISRAEL. WHAT IS THE TRANSGRESSION OF JACOB? IS IT NOT SAMARIA? AND
WHAT ARE THE HIGH PLACES OF JUDAH? ARE THEY NOT JERUSALEM?"
Micah links Jacob with Samaria.
Samaria was a major city in Manasseh and at one stage the capital of the
entire Northern Kingdom. In Prophecy 'Samaria' represents the Lost Ten Tribes
in their place of exile. Jacob is also linked with Samaria. The nickname
Yank (American) derives from the Hebrew form of Jacob. Both Judah and Samaria
are being warned here. Then warning is given to the townships of Aphrah (1:10),
Saphir, Zanaan, and Bethezel (1:11), Maroth (1:12), Lachish (1:13), Oresheth-Gath,
Achzib (1:14), Mareshah, and Adullam (1:16).
All of the above places appear
to have belonged to either Benjamin or Judah. These all appear to be places
whose inhabitants were exiled by the Assyrians and who joined the Ten Tribes
in exile. The Lost Ten Tribes also include many from the southern tribes
of Judah and Benjamin, just as Judah eventually included many from The Lost
Ten Tribes.
There follows a reference
to the baldness of an eagle:
[Micah 1:16]
"MAKE THEE BALD, AND POLL THEE FOR THY DELICATE CHILDREN; ENLARGE THY
BALDNESS AS THE EAGLE; FOR THEY ARE GONE INTO CAPTIVITY FROM THEE".
<<ENLARGE THY BALDNESS AS THE EAGLE>> The bald-headed
eagle is the symbol of the USA.
The eagle in Scripture in some cases
can symbolize the enemies of Israel: (Deuteronomy 28:4, Habakkuk 1:8, Obadiah
1:4 Lamentations 4:19 Jeremiah 4:13 Jeremiah 49:16). Historically the eagle
was the symbol of the Roman Empire, of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, of the
German Reich, of Poland, and probably of other nations as well most of whom
was much of the time antagonistic to the Jewish and Israelite peoples.
The eagle can also represent the
Salvation of Israel, the righteous amongst the people of Israel, and their deliverance
(Exodus 19:4 Deuteronomy 32:11 Isaiah 40:31).
The eagle is one of the four creatures
in the chariot of Ezekiel (1:10).
Ezekiel, chapter 17, speaks of two
eagles both representing aspects of the exile of Israel and Judah, or of
Judah only.
At all events Micah 1:16 speaks
of the baldness of the eagle in connection with the exile of townships of
Judah, who were about to join the Lost Ten Tribes in Exile and be considered
as part of them.
This is one indication amongst
very many others and should be considered as part of the whole.
The Lion and the Eagle Depicted in the Tabernacle
National Israelite Symbolism
After the Israelites casme out of Egypt they were instructed to build a Tabernacle.
The Tabernacle in the Wilderness (described in the Book of Exodus) consisted of a courtyard in
the middle of which was a tent-like building divided into two: A Holy of Holies and A Meeting Tent.
In the Holy of Holies was the Ark of the Covenant. The Tabernacle was the
Prototype for the Temple which was built later.
The Walls of the Courtyard were made of Acacia Wood Pillar Supports with a
Bronze (or copper) veneer placed in silver foundational bases (Exodus ch.26). These Supports were
separated from each other by a space of four cubits. A combination of curtains hanged down from them and
that formed the walls of the Tabernacle Courtyard.
The area of the Courtyard was fifty by one hundred cubits.
The curtains and pillars formed the walls on the north and south sides (100 cubits each) and in the west (fifty cubits).
The entrance was from the east.
The Courtyard
[Exodus 27:13] AND THE BREADTH OF THE COURT ON THE EAST SIDE EASTWARD SHALL BE
FIFTY CUBITS.
[Exodus 27:14] THE HANGINGS OF ONE SIDE OF THE GATE SHALL BE FIFTEEN CUBITS:
THEIR PILLARS THREE, AND THEIR SOCKETS THREE.
[Exodus 27:15] AND ON THE OTHER SIDE SHALL BE HANGINGS FIFTEEN CUBITS: THEIR
PILLARS THREE, AND THEIR SOCKETS THREE.
[Exodus 27:16] AND FOR THE GATE OF THE COURT SHALL BE AN HANGING OF TWENTY
CUBITS, OF BLUE, AND PURPLE, AND SCARLET, AND FINE TWINED LINEN, WROUGHT WITH
NEEDLEWORK: AND THEIR PILLARS SHALL BE FOUR, AND THEIR SOCKETS FOUR.
To understand what is being described forget about the pillars for the moment.
The breadth of the east wall and entrance was fifty cubits.
On one side coming from the corner was a wall of fifteen cubits and on the other
side coming from the opposite corner was another wall of fifteen cubits. That made thirty cubits leaving a gap in the
middle of twenty cubits.
This gap served as an entrance. It was covered by a screen or curtain of twenty
cubits.
The Entrance Screen ("Masak")
This entrance screen is called in Hebrew, the "Masak".
This could be where our English work "mask" comes from.
One opinion says it was set forward five cubits from the walls leaving gaps at
the sides for entering.
Another opinion says that it was five cubits higher (twenty cubits altogether)
than the adjoining walls and that the bottom four cubits remained rolled up so that entrance could be
effected by going underneath it.
Anyway this screen served to signify the entrance.
It was made of BLUE, AND PURPLE, AND SCARLET, AND FINE TWINED LINEN, WROUGHT
WITH NEEDLEWORK.
Woven into the Screen were pictures of a lion and eagle or four lions and four
eagles.
There are differences of opinion regarding these pictures.
One opinion holds that both eagle and lion were on the same side of the
Screen while another says it was woven in such a way that one side showed a lion and
the other side an eagle.
At all events it is agreed that both an eagle (at least one) and at least one lion
were depicted upon the Entrance Screen.
This was the most important site in all of Israel.
It was the place to which the attention of ALL of Israel was directed and from
where Moses communicated with the Almighty.
The predominant colors of the Tabernacle were red, blue, and white or variations
of them.
Red, blue, and white appear in the national flags of most nations identified by
us as containing dominating elements of the Lost Ten Tribes.
This is discussed in our work "The Tribes".
The eagle is the national symbol of the USA,
the lion of Britain. Judging by what was depicted on the Tabernacle Entrance these creatures could have been considered national symbols of Israel from the beginning.
Summation
The Lion and Eagle (as well as the lion and unicorn, see later) could be consdiered the national symbols of Israel.
We saw a connection between Israel, the ends of the earth, and the eagle symbol.
When the prophecies are taken literally they say that the Lost
Ten Tribes will be at the "ends" or geographical extremities of
the Earth the point of reference being the Land of Israel at the center.
All peoples identified in our studies as containing the main proportion of descendants of the Lost Ten Tribes
do dwell at the geographical extremities of the earth when the Land of Israel is taken as the central point of reference.
This does NOT mean that everyone dwelling in such areas is descended from Israel.
It does mean that "ends of the earth" according to our literal understanding are a valid point of reference and geographical indication of identification.
This is evidence that deserves to be considered as part and parcel of a complementary list of proofs that taken as a whole tell us where the Lost Ten Tribes are today.
