It was dedicated to King Edward VII. Was this king connected to the British Israelites, or was the congregation connected to the British Israelites? or what?

There are reports that he publicly supported British Israel which in his time
was pro-Jewish and pro-Zionist though it later changed.

Quotes such as the following are often found:
<<The movement [British-Israel] was not without important followers among the aristocracy in this period, with such notables as Queen Victoria, King Edward VII, King George VI, and currently Queen Elizabeth II all embracing the tenets of British-Israelism.>>

The problem is that none of these claims of Royal Patronage give sources of verification.
It may be that the monarchs gave verbal encouragement without committing themselves in public.

John Hulley suggests that the Monarchs have a practice of giving as many different groups as possible the impression of Royal agreement.

Belief in "British Israel" (without necessarily sympathizing with "British Israel" itself) concepts was however very widespread and the monarchs of England and Britain from the very beginning made statements that could lead one to assume that they tended
in that direction.

2. Richard Griffin: The Welsh in Canada & Discovery of Diamonds

I just joined the National Welsh-American Foundation and received several back issues of their newsletter. In the February 2007 edition they have this interesting news item:

"A Welsh mining family has helped turn Canada into one of the world players in diamonds, even overtaking former gem capital South Africa. Just 15 years ago Canada did not produce a single diamond, and skeptics said that if the country did have them, they would be impossible to find. In late 2006, the Canadian Government announced that diamond production there has now outstripped that of South Africa.
A large part of Canada's new found wealth has been attributed to a mining engineer from Swansea, Gren Thomas and his 37-year-old daughter Eira, dubbed, 'the Laura Croft of diamonds.'   Canada is now the world's third largest producer of diamonds behind Russia and Botswana, and much of its success is due to Gren Thomas' exploration work in the country's inhospitable Northern Territories."
