Hi,
Just some thoughts in reply to Thomas' question about Islam.
Muslims believe that their God is the same as the God worshipped by Christians
and Jews, but for Jews and Christians to do the same, I suspect, would be
difficult without them either becoming Muslims themselves or believing that all
Gods of all religions (even new age etc) are all the same anyway. I say this
because Islam came last of the 3 religions. While it is easy for Islam to look
back on Christianity and Judaism as lesser things which preceded Islam - the
finer, fuller revelation in their eyes, it is surely difficult for Christians
and Jews to affirm 'Allah" without allowing their own professions thereby being
superceded. Does this make sense?
From a Jewish perspective no doubt Islam has done a similar thing to what
Christianity did - take over Judaism's revelation as it were and claim to be a
better version, rightly or wrongly according to ones belief.
I dont know about Muhammad's pre-revelatory days, when he claims he received
revelations from the Archangel Gabriel, but he may have been an idol worshipper
in his youth. Arabia was pagan then after all, beyond the scope of both Persian
Zoroastrianism or Byzantine Christianity. Later, however, he certainly became a
monotheist and an oppoennt of what he understood to be idolatry
Islam to me has an interesting relevance because of its believed relationship to
the life of a minor yet surely significant figure in the Bible, Ishmael, Isaac's
elder half-brother. Genesis does say God gave Ishmael a blessing (I cant quote
it now but its in Genesis before God's blessing to Isaac). Muhammad and indeed
many Arabs claim to be descended from Ishmael, the son of Hagar. Certainly they
revere Abraham himself, Jacob's Grandfather. They accord the greater
significance however, so it seems, to Ishmael, Jacob's uncle and even believe
that it was he, not Isaac, that Abraham almost sacrificed to God. Nonetheless,
they revere the prophecies received by the children of Israel, including Moses
and Elijah and Jesus (not a prophet in Jewish eyes of course), though obviously
in the context of the hope that Jews and Christians would be persuaded to accept
their creed.
Hope that sheds some light. Do check it all for yourself, dont trust me. But I
would say that a Christian calling God 'Allah' is just Political Correctness
gone bonkers.

Is Allah the Same God? My answer is No! I did some research on this subject and
the answer is no. Allah or Islam is the common enemy between Jews and Joes and
the world. .

I do not think Israel should make any peace agreement with Islam/ Muslims and
all of Israel land return. It is interesting to note that in Islam they are can
not keep peace agreement with non Muslims any peace agreements with Muslims and
non Muslim will be broken because they have to break it.

My concern is everybody's total ignorance of this fact.
Yes agree HASHEM can make it tumble down by HIS BREATH - but THE OPERATIVE WORD

The Second Point is this - was blown over when told that many (not all) Jewish
people believe that the Moslems believe in the One true G-d when their (Islam's)
Koran calls the Jews and Christians brothers and the people of the book - can
see why The Temple Mount means nothing to some and is a monumental issue to
others.
CNN and all the other news agency's plus the people of the book seem to be
complacently silent in this regard at this time.
We need to know that we serve The One True God of Abraham, Isaac and
Jacob(Israel) - If not we have missed the plot and the plan!

I have a question, yair. I have done my genealogical research on my
all of my family lines pretty much. I come up Scottish/Welsh/English
on all lines. I am very caucasian - freckles on back... rather hairy
back and other parts of me. I have a direct Welsh lineage on my
grandmother's side. The G... clan. Anyway, does this mean I may
have lost Israelite blood? I am just curious? And if so, what
evidence is there to support such a link, and if it's true, wouldn't
I be able to find genetic ties to the lost Israelites?
